[Good evening, Pisces Ward. Today, among the crowds of people roaming the streets, is one bespectacled man, seeming to be perfectly normal save for the thick gloves he wears on his hands and the limp to his step.]

[Despite the initial shock of waking up somewhere that was not home, Jack finds that this place, new though it may be, isn't so different from his hometown. So, what better way to get acquainted with it than by exploring?]

[Feel free to ask if he wants a tour, bother him for being clueless, or just say hello -- he's new, after all, and looks to be quite approachable!]

I'd be super happy to show you around! This city is called Hinoto-Ri and we've been called here to save it.

...it needs to be saved? From what, exactly?

There're these terrorist called the Anoli, and also monsters show up after midnight. Also apparently the rest of the world doesn't exist! We don't know a lot about that.

The rest of this world. We're brought in from other worlds and stuff. But, uh, you might not want to believe everything the government says or everything the Anoli say.

Ah... right. I'll keep that in mind.

[He's used to being skeptic of what other people tell him already, anyway.]

How do people from other worlds get here, though? Wouldn't that mess with things...?

It's probably magic. I think it has to do with a guy dressed up as a butterfly named Philemon.

This never seems as weird except when I'm telling it to new people!

[... Well. This isn't whom he expects to see as he's walking home from work. But he remembers Agatha's memories quite clearly - as well as the man who appeared in them.]

One of the local powers that be decided to swap our memories once.

You know Aggie? [Cue surprise at realizing his niece is here, what.]

Strange occurrences are the norm here. There's demons as well, though not all of them are hostile.

And yes, I know her. I've been watching out for her as much as I can.

Well, my world has demons too, so I'm used to that. Just... not the memory-fiddling.

[At the mention of watching out for Aggie, Jack smiles.] I'm glad she's got someone looking out for her. She hasn't been too much of a handful, has she?

Mine does as well. And believe me, I'm not happy about the memory swap.

[He has enough trouble with memories... but at the question, he chuckles a bit.]

I've dealt with teenagers before. I practically raised my cousin at times. So even with her... unique situation... I've got a decent handle on things with her.

[He holds onto her for a moment more before pulling away, smiling calmly.]

I have been here for some months, Uncle.

This place is called Hinoto-Ri. I have not seen any other relatives here. [l'awkward pause.] ...Except a version of the ancestor, that is. This city would appear to bring in all sorts.

For... For months. Months. Here I am, thinking I just saw you yesterday, and you've been here all that time?

I am uncertain as to the details but I believe some kind of... [... Okay Spock speak isn't gonna work here.] Time works oddly here in relation to the worlds people come from - that's the best explanation I've been able to get, Uncle.

... I see. [The most thoughtful of faces, right here.] That sounds awfully complicated.

Have you been well? Kept out of trouble?

As well as can be given the circumstances - I have stayed out of trouble for the most part, though Hinoto-Ri tends to enjoy causing people trouble regardless.

I've just gotten here, so I'm as well as can be expected. Just... disoriented, yeah?
