Fall Festival + 13th Hour Log!
▼ Joint Fall Festival and 13th Hour Log!
Where: Virgo and all over the city!
When: The 22nd of September and any 13th Hour!
Summary: A combination Fall Festival log and 13th Hour log!
Warnings: Stay away if you are allergic to celebrations and fun. ...Or demons.
▼ As long as Heaven and Earth endure, I offer such to you...
Just in time for the annual Fall Festival. Close on the heels of the previous event, the attempted feeling was much the same. Booths selling assorted merchandise including lucky bamboo rakes and all manner of gourd-based household items (have you ever wanted a bowl made from a squash?), activities ranging from bobbing for apples to what appeared to be a 'largest squash' competition, and of course, food. Lots and lots and lots of food, from fresh fruits and fresh berries to candied apples and yams to more traditional chrysanthemum candies and taro and rice cakes. Consciously or not, Hinoto-Ri has fused a variety of customs into a single event, allowing for familiar fun for those of any background.
Through it all, though, there hangs a sense of unease and a slightly subdued atmosphere. Painted trees and bushes are still visible, and the destruction of property caused by overzealous citizens has not been fully restored. Whether or not the people of the city blame the Visitors for the events of the previous weeks remains uncertain...
▼ Tis now the very witching time of night
11:58. 11:59. ...Now. Once again, the night sky is dyed a crimson red as the 13th Hour falls upon the city. And from the ether, the demons come forth, called by the fanatic light of the moon. It is only three days from the full moon, and the monsters remain aggressive.
But the 13th Hour is hardly a unique phenomenon. It comes nightly and by now, both Visitors and citizens alike have doubtlessly learned to accept it. On any night of the week, venturing out during this time will surely result in trouble...

You have free rein in this log - join other people's posts, explore the festival, post them fighting monsters and enjoy leveling up/interacting! For this log, you can level up persona ONCE PER IC WEEK, but not in the same thread IC-wise. Please do not abuse this. The conditions are that the fighting must happen on different days. The threads should be long enough that an attack is possible and shouldn't just be a few comments for the sake of leveling up (i.e.: we want effort in them, as much as you would make with a normal log.)
FOR THE CREATURES: The creatures have to be in the Bestiary for you to use them. You don't need to use creatures from your own home worlds either, as long as someone's put in a creature in there! (Also, make sure your characters could logically take on the creatures you pick let's not have them take down a giant creature when they couldn't normally.) ]

Before something else caught his eye.
It seemed they were selling some little 'snacks' that went with tea on the side as well. Some Yamato recognised, others... he didn't. Intrigued, he made his way over there, lugging the bag after him. Tempted... tempted...
...
Fuck it. He'll buy all of those as well!]
no subject
...with his passcard...
...A sigh and a press of his hand to his face, Alcor floated there too, following Yamato, trying to see what he was going to purchase this time.
And to gently reprimand him if need be.]no subject
Lots
and lots
of snacks.
So a second large bag was added, and Alcor was left a little less rich when the passcard was returned to Yamato. He didn't even feel guilty about it - hell, Yamato didn't realise that what he was doing was irresponsible and rude. In fact, he was feeling a bit of a thrill from buying things that he had always been curious about, but constantly refused.
What else... could he buy? He'll see what he could get until it was almost physically impossible for him to carry everything!]
no subject
...Two bags, hm?
no subject
...yes.
[No point denying it. Yamato held the bags a little tighter, as if worried that they'd be confiscated from him]
I just... required some extra... items...
no subject
Ah, and Yamato Hotsuin was never granted such freedom. Instead, he had many restrictions placed upon him...and who's fault was that? Alcor knew the answer better than anyone else.]
...I see.
[A rather awkwardly long pause, as if he was debating with himself about something.]
...Are you thirsty? I can hold a bag for you.
[With that, he held out one of the cups of tea he was levitating, towards Yamato.]
no subject
Yamato set both bags down at his feet, and reached out to take the cup of tea. With it firmly in his hands, he hid his mouth behind it, mumbling;]
You can carry both, if you want. They're heavy.
no subject
...They could afford to indulge for the day. Alcor had months of saved up stipend, courtesy of not needing to pay for anything to sustain him. Combined with Yamato's small stipend, they could afford to "splurge", or whatever term humans used for excessive spending in a short amount of time.]
...There are a great many items of interest here.
no subject
Yes. It's interesting what civilians get up to, isn't it? I have always wanted to see but-
[Yamato quietened abruptly, and sipped his tea. He shouldn't express such open interest in civilian things, lest he be seen craving a civilian lifestyle. Furthest thing from the truth but, he couldn't help but be... curious...]
no subject
...But you were born with many restrictions.
[The fault was his, he would certainly admit it. He raised his voice, speaking in his normal tone after that moment of guilt.]
Haha...It is fine to show interest in such things. This is human culture, surrounding us...fascinating, yes?
no subject
You know a considerable deal about it, don't you?
no subject
...Not at all. You humans have far more to teach me. It is something that continually eludes me, though I do not mind. Nothing gives me more pleasure than seeing man's civilization grow and prosper in such a way.
[Ah, the oh-so-familiar beginnings of what would certainly be a long-winded speech about how he had come to observe mankind, and his thoughts on it...]
no subject
Then let us observe the rest of the festival. Maybe we will find other interesting things to buy?
no subject
...Very well. Let us go, together.
no subject
...he still had Alcor's passcard in his possession as well]
no subject
[...Of course Yamato would still hang on to the passcard. Of course. With little choice but to follow, and two bags to carry, he floated behind Yamato as he exited the tea ceremony tent.
Alcor, for his part, would try to ensure that Yamato enjoyed his time here, like a normal human child, unbound from the restrictions of his family and duties for the time being. It was the least he could do to make up for his sins.]
no subject
Why are they doing that?
no subject
...I'm not sure. In modern times, such temporary bodily decoration is more amusing than practical to the bearer.
no subject
[Yamato loses interest almost immediately after that, moving past the face painting stall - only to see a candy floss stall next to it. His attention is immediately grabbed by the bright pink]
no subject
...Do you want to sample it?
[...Best to bring the idea up quickly.]
no subject
Yes!
[Um, ah, that was a bit enthusiastic and childish. Ahem]
Ah, I mean... yes.
no subject
He'd let Yamato handle the communicating part of their venture.]
no subject
Yamato went up to the stall with confidence, since he had two earlier purchases under his belt. He held up the passcard and said quite firmly;]
For two.
[He didn't know what the fuck it was or called, so his brusque order would have to do : |]
no subject
Two...?
[Ah, yes. He had momentarily forgotten that he himself counted...or he just didn't care about himself in the first place. He knew that Yamato knew that he didn't need to eat anything anyway, but...perhaps it was a way of showing that he indeed was only being kind and playing with him.]
no subject
Here. Take it. I know you don't eat, but if you are able to ingest tea without harmful effects, you can at the very least try human food as well.
