Questing for an army of two

Who: Ruri, some monsters at a point, and open
Where: A couple locations around the city during the day and at night of the 11th. The park during the 12th.
Summary: Ruri is bored and while not an engineer, she's got schematics

Build a robot model, she'd been pondering for a while, and after helping with the gundam, and the other giant robots she had a number of schematics. She also had the plans for a gravity wave engine power receiver and some left over parts but she wanted to try miniaturization. Mecha were large and ultimately not terribly useful if something got on the ship, but remote units that were say man sized, or at least Ruri sized would be quite useful. Spending most of the last week or so working up plans she decided it was time to collect parts.

Afternoon The 11th - Ruri is out in the Cancer and Virgo areas, she has a list of things, but other than a laser pointer which also tells distances she seems to be more looking over things instead of buying them. Occasionally she'll go into a store and make a purchase of some sort of circuit board or something but this seems more a scouting expedition.

The 13th Hour of the 11th - Ruri is out in the park, stalking a group of Chaos space marines and sorcerers, or perhaps robotic monsters. She's doing her best to hide, but she has that laser pointer out.

"Omoikane. Prepare all 6 tubes."

Afternoon of the 12th - Ruri is outside of the Nadesico at the park. She has a table set up and piles of various components purchased or won from monsters that she is looking over, categorizing and documenting.

"Hrm, I think that's enough, the only issue is I'm not an engineer, I'm a programmer."

[Nano happens by while Ruri has her table set up in the park. Curious about what her friend is doing, she walks up to have a look.]

Ruri-san? What are you doing?

She looks up from a pile of random parts and blinks.

"Working on a small Aestevalus unit based on the schematics I've gotten here."

A small... what?

[electricyousei]

"A robot. Like the mecha that were on the Nadesico back home, but with a remote AI system so Omoikane can operate it like a body. Well, actually a few. I'm just prototyping one for starters, and when I get it right I'll give it to the people in the velvet room and let Omoikane use the production model."

[all_wound_up]

Oh, I see! Like a model that really works, right?

[electricyousei]

"Yes. Exactly. Though hopefully this model can chase demons off the ship that get past the barrier too."

[all_wound_up]

Have you been having more trouble with that since the last time?

[electricyousei]

"No, but I like to be prepared. I don't see the Nadesico ever being crewed here but its still home so I'd like to keep it safe."

She peers at another pile and points at a book on the edge of the table.

"Can you get that for me. I'm not quite sure what I got off of demons last night."

Oh... sure. Here you go.

[Nano walks over to retrieve the book, looking down at the cover before handing it over.]

The book is a binder marked "Munitions."

"Thank you. I don't really know much about robot building so its an experience. If you have any insights to it I would appreciate it."

I actually don't know very much about it even though I am one... but Hakase has some books about it. I could go and get them if you'd like?

[electricyousei]

"No, I have schematics on all the sentient AI's that have been here as well as a few mecha. I just didn't know if you had any insights being a robot. You have a unique point of view of things."

Well... maybe that's true. What do you want to know about?

[electricyousei]

"Anything relevant. I was made to interface with machines, but I've always been in an odd middle place, not really one, nor not really a full person either. I really would like Omoikane to be able to do things sometimes."

I've always tried to act like a human would, so I'm not sure if there's much I can say that you don't already know.

[electricyousei]

"Humanity is really odd, and I can never say I've ever understood people. But really that is probably more of a personal problem."

If you have any specific questions, I can try to answer those! I'm just not sure what to say otherwise.

"If you could build another body for you, what would you want it to do?"

Everything a human body can do, and nothing it can't.

[That one is easy. She doesn't even spend any time thinking about it.]

She looks over her parts, tilts her head a bit and sighs.

"I don't think I quite have the parts for that. Lets stick to classic robot designs then, because I think technology would have to advance about 200 years for those parts here. Some sort of nanoreaction for children and growth. Maybe 3 or 400 years."

The 13th Hour of the 11th

She isn't the only one stalking the chaos marines, a similar but different figure in grey armor is holding two blades as he approaches, one a toothed blade that looks like a chainsaw, the other a shorter, but brutal gladius.

She taps her earbud to try and contact the other figure on the town net.

"Cerebus-san? Keep your distance, I'm currently locking 6 air to land rockets on them. If you want I can fire two and let you clean up the rest."

"Kill them all, if you can, but be aware they are very durable."

[electricyousei]

"Understood. Please seek cover."

A tiny laser light as if from a laser pointer shines on the back of one of their heads and 4 flashes of light from the other side of the park shine. As the traitor legions move to charge the area explodes as if under orbital bombardment.
