It starts, not with a preemptory summons over the general network, but a pair of thoughtful, serious messages left in Sam and Nano's inboxes. Desco even uses the word 'please'. And then, instead of commanding her Uncles to stick around, she just...asks them not to leave today.

Something weird is going on with the tiniest shoggoth.

When the entirety of Desco's 'family' is gathered, she takes a deep breath - even though she has stated that she doesn't need to breathe - and addresses them.

"Desco...no. Um, I need to tell you about my childhood."

...she's dropping the third person. Not a good sign.

She deploys Usatako and forms it into a seat.

"Um...about six years ago, my big sis asked Daddy for a little sister with advanced functionality to help her take over the world. Mommy died a little while after that, so Daddy decided that instead of cybernetically altering a human baby he'd just make a genetically engineered superweapon. Daddy found funding and someone to supply him with demons, and by mixing his and Mommy's DNA with various kinds of demon DNA he made me. That was four years ago. I grew up in Daddy's lab - because my brain is mostly human, I ended up needing cybernetic implants anyway to deal with my various sensory inputs. Um, I was the prototype model - Daddy had me do a lot of tests by fighting against his other cloned demons and his demon-fighting Bio-Suits. Um...I used to have so much fun breaking the Bio-Suits, but I realized recently that the Bio-Suits were piloted by human test subjects."

She pauses for a second and strokes one of her tentacles nervously.

"So, I've been killing humans without knowing it since I was six months old. Sorry, Sis."

She cringes a little and retreats halfway inside Usatako.

"Um, when I was a year and a half old, Daddy took all the combat data I got for him and used it to make Lady Des-X, the production model. I was really excited to have a little sister, and for the first couple of months we played together a lot! Then she got all weird and jealous and didn't want to listen to Daddy talk about Big Sis or watch the videos he had made of her. Then, um, when I was two, Big Sis came to the lab because...well, I don't know why. And Des-X attacked her. I tried to stop her, but she, uh...tore out all but my red eyes and ate them, and my cybernetics went crazy and disabled me, so all I could do was watch while she killed Big Sis. And then, once she was done with that, she crushed my skull. I'm pretty sure she ate our bodies after that, too, because Big Sis was just listed as 'missing' instead of 'dead' when I checked the last time I visited Daddy's lab."

A pause.

"And then, when I woke up, I was in the Netherworld, and I kind of...threw a tantrum and leveled one of the residential districts, so the corrupternment threw me into the Forbidden Cell of the high-security ward of Hades, and I spent the next six months in solitary confinement loaded down with so many sealing spells I couldn't move at all before Big Sis and Valzy saved me."

With this, she sinks inside Usatako until only her head is visible.

"So, um...I know I have some issues, so...if you want to stop being my family after this, I don't mind as long as you don't try to hurt me? And, uh, if you still want to be family, can you please promise to never ever get hurt?"

He smiles a bit, and rubs what he can reach of her back.

"I can't promise to never get hurt, but I can promise to protect you as much as I can."

"Desco will agree to that, but you'd better let her protect you as well!"

... Welp.

"Fine."

He gives her a little more of a squeeze, before pulling back a bit.

"And if I find who hurt you, I'll kill them for you."

"Um, Uncle Otoha?"

Puppy eyes.

"Desco has finally learned why killing is bad, so can you just shatter their kneecaps instead?"

Internal eyeroll.

"Fine. I can do that."

Pat pat.

"Even if they are terrible people, it's bad to break up families. Plus, if they can't walk, then they'll have to rely on their families to take care of them! It is a solution that makes everyone happy."
