Warnings: Characters' darkest and most shameful secrets within, along with plenty of combat. Please mark any threads that will contain triggering content appropriately, since some characters have darker secrets than others.

The Shadow's response is quick and decisive.

"Bufula!"

[They had tried searching for the Shadow at the Naganaki Shrine first, but the shrine had been empty and undisturbed. Their next guesses led them elsewhere, to locations dotting across Hinoto-Ri, though none of them proved to be right. None of their hunches were leading them to the person—or whatever she was—who they needed to find. But each unsuccessful lead further narrowed down the list of probable locations, thinning their search as they headed back into busier parts of the city, finally re-emerging into the Libra district near the water, the Moonlight Bridge resting in the near distance, seamlessly connecting the two wards together, like it had always been there.

Shinjiro surveys the bridge for a few seconds. That seemed as good of place as any to try next. It was one of the few places they had from home. And at this point... he's not sure where else they could try, unless they'd wanted to wander aimlessly through the city without a specific destination in mind and hope they get lucky.]

Think she'll be there?

Enough with your bullshit already! HADES!!!

[He doesn't even bother to argue or say hi, as the Persona doesn't use an attack, slamming right into the shadow instead. Push her off the broken bridge, everything's fair in taking this Shadow down a notch.

Someone.Is.Really Angry.]

[His head snaps over to Eikichi sharply, and that materializes outward and attacks. His voice is equally so.]

Hey. Don't just—

[That was... unexpected.

He had been about to say something before, but it's cut short when Eikichi doesn't even bother to goddamn wait. Evaluate what was going on instead of being idiotic and so damn rash Aki would probably be unconsciously offended. He doesn't know what the hell had pissed Mishina off that much to make him not bother to hold back for a sec and breathe, but if that was how it was gonna turn out, then fine. But he wasn't just going to rush into it himself.

Not that Shinjiro had any experience in fighting these kind of Shadows—or whatever they were—but attacking her outright without preamble hadn't been... at all what he had in mind. Not when this Shadow was just some kind of part of her. Same voice and face, even if it was her and... not her all at the same time. That made the idea of attacking the Shadow physically, and not through her Shadow's Persona, if it came down to that, even less appetizing to him. But he'd do what he needed to do. Maybe this was the only option and was how things were supposed to go, though part of him had a difficult time believing everything would be directly analogous to the worlds they came from. Not that everything could be solved by talking either, but—]

Tch.

[He grits his teeth. He bottles back the urge to cut Hades off—if she's a Shadow and Minako at the same time, she has to be made of stronger steel than that—and doesn't attack or interfere himself, not yet, though he pushes Castor into stirring, and charging.]

Ayumu wasn't going to let up until he saw Taro released from the shadow's grasp, and he follows Hizumi's lead and directs his persona to attack again, hoping that somehow it will loosen his grip. The words of the shadow are impossible to ignore... as is Taro's fear.

"I don't know about any of that stuff in your past, but you've helped us both, you know. Or are you saying that's a lie, too?" That he hated those things he'd done were indication enough that there was more than what the shadow said to the story.

She'd been too busy dealing with the screeching wail that resounded throughout the area really notice what had happen to Hizumi's Shadow, but it wasn't hard for her to notice what had gone on after the other Ayumu was brought down. Was all that true? Had he come to the same logic that he did by the time he confronted Hizumi at Tokyo Tower? Was he going to create that same 'Spiral' destiny once they all dealt with this Persona business?

Hiyono certainly hoped so, deep down -- even if she wouldn't dare show it out of fear of damaging the situation.

Nevertheless, she broke her trend of constant healing, and ran up to the Shadow.

"I don't know you too well, personally, but--" Slipped out a certain taser. "--that's no reason to be afraid! Not when you have the chance to change all of that, here, and now!" Tried jabbing it right into said Shadow's side.

Eat bear killer electricity.

"Well, that makes two of us liars, then." Although Hizumi smiles, it's a rather twisted one. "...Sometimes, it's more of a survival instinct. A way to keep yourself from going insane. It can't always be helped."

It wasn't like he hid things from others entirely for their own benefit. While that was definitely part of it, it was also simply that he couldn't stand to think about it on such a constant basis. It made it so easy, wrapping everything he said in lies, acting as though everything was fine.

Constantly confronting the truth is just too much for him to bear.

But he'd been able to find strength in others despite that. Even though he tried his damnedest to keep them out of it, they still managed to worm their way in. And he's still terribly uncomfortable with the idea, to be honest, but... Even if it's just a little...

"Ayumu and I, at least-- you know you don't need to hide it from us. I tried that too, but obviously it didn't work out too well, did it?"

Sputtering and stammering out the truth of his life, back then. Taro should remember that as well.

"And he'd try to save you even if you turned out to be the worst murderer in the history of the world, I'm sure." He nods at Ayumu beside him. "If you regret it so much... That means you, at least, can change. Right?"

Despite the well-meant words, Hizumi's pity for the Shadow are considerably less than what he feels for Taro. His Shadow seems to take no issue with casting a spell aimed at Shadow Taro even in the midst of Hizumi's talking.

Between the attacks and the shouting, the Shadow drops Taro firmly on the ground. He crawls away towards the others, fur smoking a little bit. The Shadow just sighs, crossing his arms.

"Hiding behind people. Typical."

"... Shut up." Taro turns to the Shadow, shaking his head. "Just... stop. I... whatever. I lied. I hate myself. Are you happy? It doesn't matter anymore, though."

He waddles over in front of the group, planting himself firmly. "I died. but I'm not dead here. I have another life - one where I don't have to hide. The past is important... but I can't change any of that anymore, can I? I just have the future."

The Shadow looks at each of them in turn, before closing his eyes. "And the lying?"

"... Well. Sometimes that happens. But then things go on, and you're forgiven. I don't want or need power anymore. I'm happy with what I have."

The Shadow smiles faintly, before his shape changes. Ame-no-Uzume looks down at them, and then vanishes.

Taro sighs and flops to the ground, closing his eyes.

"... So tired..."

Ayumu smiles faintly at both Hizumi and Taro's words, watching as the shadow changes and vanishes. There were a lot of things he could say to everything said during the fight, questions and assurances. Hizumi was right-- as long as you have regrets, you could transform those into change, make something greater of yourself and the world around you. People who had made mistakes were the ones with the real power to make change.

But right now, talk wasn't something they needed, weaknesses exposed and raw from the fight. Maybe later, if they felt like it, which Ayumu had a feeling none of them would, but for now... now it was over. They could rest. He sinks to the ground, not keen on letting himself lean against the wall with a bit more dignity with his back still sore.

"I think that goes for all of us....."

Eikichi-kun!

[What the heck had her Shadow even said to make him this angry? Or is it just Shadows in general that he doesn't like?]

[For a few seconds he had been hoping for the tell-tale sound of the shadow crashing in the water, but he wasn't so lucky. The hell was that thing tho, he didn't remember Minako using that before.]

And hear you continue to sprout your bullshit?!

[But this time, he wisely decides to wait before attack. He's not as so stupid to just launch again when the Shadow's got that persona and he knows nothing about it.]

[A wise choice, considering Shinjiro does know just what he's up against.. He's fought Thanatos enough to know... Though it was never a real fight in any sense of the word. And if it had been, it would have been likely pretty damn one-sided.]

I dunno what the hell she said to tick you off, but cool it.

[And he'd rather not watch a Minako look-alike get pushed off a bridge again, thanks. He shakes his head, voice still exasperated when he turns to stare at the other Minako appraisingly, watching the color-changed Thanatos out of the corner of his eyes. He had been expecting Orpheus.]

So if you want to talk, then talk. What do you want?

OW GODDAMN right in the Weakness. Neither Shura nor Dis are amused once they recover.

"Makajam!" Shura orders as Dis opens her frightful eyes to cast a silence spell at the Shadow. If she can silence the Shadow, she can kill it without worrying about the Ice.

As the Makajam spell seals the Shadow's Persona, it scowl and clenches its fist, the spikes on its left knuckles popping forward as it throws a short jab at Shura's nose.

Holy Jack Frost in an ice cream tub it actually worked. She swiftly jumped back, not fast enough to avoid the spikes grazing her nose and cheeks, leaving thin, bloody cuts behind. Dis appeared above her and, opening her arms, cast Agilao on the Shadow.

The Shadow throws up its arms to cover its face from the blast of fire, which burns away a part of its uniform. Snarling, it lunges forward, leading with the talons on its left arm thrust out in a sort of knife-hand stab.

[Minako steps forward to address the other her. Thanatos doesn't surprise her at all, unlike Shinji. In fact, she'd be more surprised if her "Shadow" had any other Persona. Death was the Shadow she'd born for ten years, after all.]

I know you're my Shadow. That means you're a reflection of me. So why would you try to provoke people on the network?

[Yeah well he's just going to glare right back at her and then Shinjiro for a few seconds before going right back at the Shadow. 'Cool it' wasn't something he'd been told often. But at Minako's question, he can't help but add his two yen, because he's not talking to the shadow either, he's talking to Minako so pfffft.]

Piss people off. Spread rumors. Change the public view of you. Increase her power so she can take you and your place more easily. You know what makes a Shadow especially angry? The fact you're here at all and they aren't. [He still remembered what his own said. 'You and that other self really piss me off...']

[Well, he certainly has no problem in telling it, and holds Eikichi's stare for the few seconds it takes for him to feel satisfied about glaring at him. He doesn't, however, see the need to interrupt Minako's conversation with her other self. This isn't his fight; it's hers. He will, however, log the information Eikichi's giving them away, internalizing it.]

I see... So she just wants to be acknowledged.

Well, then... [Minako steps forward towards the Shadow, holding out her hand.] I'll acknowledge you. Whatever feelings you're holding are a part of me, so-

[Urgh. Now he just felt bad.]

No, not like that, babe! You have to beat it out of her first to prove your will!

[Because VIOLENCE SOLVES EVERYTHING.]

[Shinjiro shoots Eikichi another long, withering look, and is starting to almost regret his passive acceptance of bringing the other Persona-user along, no matter how experienced he might be. He doesn't know how Eikichi's experience went—and lacks his own—but the circumstances and what needed to be done could very well be different.

But he could very well prove to be right. Most of his current attention is directed elsewhere, mostly at the double standing in front of them, and the agitation that's starting to fester.]

There a reason it can't be?
