Atsuro Kihara - December 16th, OTA

"Hey..."

Late the night of the 16th, those out and about during the night may be addressed by a boy idly loitering in the middle of the street. For those familiar with Atsuro, they will find his body language irregular. Though the face is clearly Atsuro's, this person stands with a slouch, one arm crossed over his chest, shrinking in on himself. His eyes are constantly flickering about, though they generally remain directed at the floor. His expression is troubled, and his voice soft.

"You're... out late, too, huh?" ...A long, awkward pause. ".........You... You wanna go do something? Don't feel like being alone...."

It doesn't strike Yurick that this isn't the Atsuro he knows, though he can definitely tell something's amiss. There's still some ice in his heart-- coming to Hinoto-Ri had taken him back a few steps from where he'd been after the Vono shipwreck-- but one of the thawed places is where the programmer has worked into his life.

He approaches, clearly worried. Had something terrible happened, or has Atsuro received some bad news? Maybe if Yurick can get him to talk... though such a thing is still quite foreign to him.

"Atsuro? What in the world are you doing out here so late by yourself?" He reaches out, touching his friend's shoulder. Zael often did it to show comfort, so maybe it will help. "If you didn't want to be alone, you could've come to me."

Miss Martian - December 16th OTA

[There's a commotion in the city on the night of the 16th. A large white monster is stalking the streets of Hinoto-Ri. Near the monster is M'gann on her knees trying to hold back tears. She's muttering to herself.]

No not this. Please not this.

"......"

As the boy feels the touch upon his shoulder, he stiffens slightly. ...His eyes flicker briefly across Yurick, expression still withdrawn. There comes another pause before he allows a bleak, wan smile.

"I can come to you...?"

The amber eyes seem to flash briefly before he turns away, eyes quickly dropping to the ground again.

"But we barely know each other... Yurick. Is that... Is that really OK?"

He's about to say something when the sight of those amber eyes strikes an anxious chord in his heart. Atsuro's eyes are dark and warm like coffee, not....

Oh. Fates help them, had that odd boy on the network been right? Is this another Zodiac affliction? Loathing and anxiety seethe in Yurick's gut as he gives his friend's shoulder a light squeeze. "Of course it's okay. Other than Zael, you're my only real friend here. Don't you remember how you helped me when he was taken?" Reassuring someone isn't a familiar act but he has to try, especially if Atsuro really is under some curse. "I could never forget your kindness."

Agatha Sheridan - December 16 OTA (warning for I guess there's gonna be violence.)

This clearly isn't the Agatha people know, of course. For one, she doesn't - quite - look human. More like a puppet, a robot...the seams are showing at the mouth and the neck. After all, that's how people see me, right? A doll. An emotionless pawn. I don't have feelings, I just do what everyone else says! I hate it!

The yellow eyes are also a dead giveaway, as is the utterly screwed-up smile on her face. Meet the Shadow, folks.

... who's currently got blood on her hands after having killed a few aggressive demons for stress relief. She waves at whoever's nearby as if that isn't the case, though.]

Yeah, that's definitely weird enough for Midori to comment on. She's worried about him now.

[Midori knows nothing about what's going on, but man is she ever worried about something taking Agatha's face.]

[Hi, you're getting a bloody glomp from the Shadow. ... bloody because, y'know, the recent demon killin'.]

You seem happy tonight.

[How unfortunate that she runs into one of the recent arrivals, one who's already seen this song and dance before...with the Fool already formed in his hand as soon as he notices the golden eyes.

Why. Why, of all things, would it be this, and how did this even happen?]

[His reply is flat, even. It does well to hide the already considerable amount of frustration he's getting from this mess.]

[The Shadow gets a feeling she knows exactly what's going on.

Cue pout.]

You're gonna attack me, huh? Well, it figures! Of cooooourse nobody wants a social pariah to live! But you see, I don't wanna die!

Can I ask why your eyes are a different color now?

[It's not like she's not close enough to tell.]

Huh? [Head tilt.]

Is that really such a big deal? I'm me, still!

Then again, I know I'm kinda worthless. Still, I'm still me, for whatever that's worth!

[He shakes his head. If he attacks, it won't be because he intended to strike first. For now...he was going to see what he could get out of her.]

No one wants to. But I'm sure you have more than your fair share of reasons why you don't...

Or should I say, 'your "real" self does'?

[The smile disappears at that.]

I'M the real me. And I'm going to make sure it STAYS that way. I'm done with the facade, so I'm gonna break it.

"Your... only real friend?"

The boy seems to latch onto these words as he slowly reaches up towards Yurick's hand on his shoulder. His tone has shifted now to become eager, almost... hunger. The words come more quickly now, and he grasps Yurick's hand in his own - his body is cold as ice.

"You really mean it? You want to be my friend?"

If Atsuro is under some kind of curse, it doesn't seem as if much headway is being made in dispelling it. ...At least the pleading was kind of endearing.

"You won't leave me, right? No matter what happens... no matter what.... friends are friends.

Forever."

Uh.

His motions are stiff and lethargic as he tilts his head up to glance towards Midori.

"Huh...? Oh. Sure. I'm fine..."

There's a certain listless quality to his words.

"I was... wondering something. Midori..."

I can't allow that.

Not when you and your real self have to sort these differences you have out.

[Izanagi felt stronger than he did before, even if he wasn't quite at the peak he was back then... if it comes to blows, he should be able to keep things under control.]

"Sorting out differences," huh~?

I don't know the meaning of those words. I'm just a doll, after all. A puppet. I don't "sort out differences", I follow orders. Because Aggie is a good girl~

[Nope. Not gonna happen. He has a couple of sticking points, but not only does he not have enough to confront her real self -- this 'Aggie' -- with, he can't just let this Shadow run amok. He has to keep it where he can see it, even if for a short time.

Souji promptly gives chase. Hopefully his time in the TV world would help him here, because if it doesn't...]
