Moving Day! Backdated to the 22nd

Who: Hizumi Mizushiro, Ayumu Narumi, Hiyono Yuizaki, and Taro Watanabe. OPEN!
Where: Pisces District, around the apartments and the Narumi Detective Agency.
Summary: After working to turn it into a proper living space, the Spiral kids + a tanuki are moving into a detective agency because of lame name jokes.
Warnings: None.

It took some work, but what better way to distract yourself from certain Shadow pains than to get busy with moving? This may or may not be the reason why Hizumi abruptly called up the others and told them to get their stuff moved in if they wanted a bigger place to stay. And yes, even Hiyono was included in that list - even though he doesn't know a whole lot about her, she's Ayumu's friend from home and seems to know a few things, so why not?

Thus, various people can probably be found running between the apartments and the old Detective Agency. Even if they look busy, maybe they'll have time to stop and say hi?

Taro doesn't have a ton of stuff, but he does have a few odd things that came out while organizing. His little corner has a raggedy teddy bear sitting on top of his spy novels, and a small lockpicking tool kit is tucked away into a drawer.

The tanuki himself is working on making eggs in the kitchen area, though, and is totally free for bugging.

"Oiiii, Taroooo!"

Have a devil peering over your shoulder, bro.

"Already time for food?"

Yay! Hizumi is always welcome. He grins and nods.

"Well, I figured we'll need something to perk us back up from carrying stuff!"

"And the solution to that is eggs?"

Definitely a bachelor's meal. But still! "Smells good! Are they about ready yet?"

[hachitaro]

"They're easy to make. I'll have to go shopping to get other groceries. And yeah. Can you grab some plates?"

The rest of the house is a little too young for one of his other easy meals. He's gonna have to find somewhere to hide the beer.

You know, they always say that sharing is caring...

"Yeah, sure! Hang on!"

And he dashes off to retrieve the motley collection of plates they've got, bringing the stack on over to Taro and holding them out. He'll set each one aside as it gets its own egg.

"After moving, the food budget's gonna be a liiiiittle tighter this month. But it'll work out."

He starts moving the eggs over to the plates.

"I'm pretty good at making do with only a little money. We'll be fine."

"Or good at making a little extra money?"

He keeps his voice low, still smiling as cheerfully as ever. It seems he'd noticed the lock picks.

[hachitaro]

"Well... yeah. There's not exactly an Underground here to fence goods though. At least, not that I've seen."

He rubs the back of his neck, a bit embarrassed.

"It's not like most people would offer a tanuki a legitimate job at home."

"There's plenty of jobs at a training level here - you could always look into those if you wanted." He was more or less hired on the spot, after all. "But that's up to you."

For now at least, Hizumi busies himself with setting out the food.

[hachitaro]

"Well, yeah. I know. It's easier here. I like it here, weird monsters and stuff aside."

If Toshiko were here he could just kick up his feet and totally relax. More than usual.

"You had a little experience with that before you came here though, didn't you? Since you were involved with other youkai." They're literally known as strange apparitions after all. "Even I took a while to get adjusted to this place. Devil and God stuff aside, my life didn't have anything supernatural on that level."

[hachitaro]

"True, but most of them weren't trying to kill me. Until recently. Unless I tried to ride an oni."

He grins a little bit. "Though I meant more the big monsters that show up from time to time. And the stuff that's not yokai that shows up. I had some experience, but at least I knew what I was dealing with. Not so much here."

About the same time Taro starts in on cooking his eggs, Ayumu makes his way to the kitchen now that he's finished in his room, carrying a box filled with dry goods and kitchenware.

"Hey."

[hachitaro]

"Hey." He waves with the spatula.

"What sort of stuff do you have in there?"

[melodyoflogic]

"Dry goods and whatever was left in my apartment that wouldn't spoil while I transported it across town." He hated to waste food, and tossing them would be a waste. He sets it the box down on the counter, pulling out boxes and bags, small canisters of spices.

Ayumu seems to be a teenager who's relatively comfortable when it comes to cooking, from the look of the seasonings. "I haven't had a lot of time to get much here, but I also brought my kitchen things, if we need them." Having only been in Hinoto-Ri since October, his apartment hadn't been as furnished as it could have been, but he'd had the basics at least.

"Huh. Thanks. I guess I didn't realize you were such a chef..." Most of Taro's cooking experience can be gently called either bachelor cooking or 'throw everything into a pot and hope it's edible', but at least his food is usually okay.

"Do you know if Hizumi or Hiyono cook? We could set up a schedule or something."

[melodyoflogic]

"I do all the cooking back home. My sister isn't the best at it." Honestly, he did most of the household chores. When he meant 'bad' he really meant it. She was hopeless when it came to cooking.

"Hizumi can. I don't know about her though."

[hachitaro]

"Huh..."

He thinks about that for a moment while he pokes the eggs. Gotta make sure they don't stick and all.

"Hey, how come you never call Hiyono by her name?" Don't think he hasn't noticed that.

[melodyoflogic]

He pauses for several seconds, giving a considering look.

"Who?"

....Don't ask Taro. Just don't ask. It's a lost cause.

[hachitaro]

"..."

The gentlest facepalm, right here.

"Is this something I just shouldn't ask about?"

[melodyoflogic]

Ayumu doesn't even blink at the reaction.

"I don't know what you're talking about. I just don't know who that is." He reaches into the box again, pulling out a few more things.

[hachitaro]

Ayumu? You are getting whapped upside the head. Not too hard, but still.

"Yuizaki. The other person in the house. Ring a bell?"

What is wrong with you.

"Ow! What was that for?" He scowls, rubbing his head. It wasn't hard, no, but his pain tolerance was... something else.

"Oh. Her." Still. Not saying her name.

"I forget."

[hachitaro]

"... Is this normal forgetful forgetting, or is this something to do with the whole..."

He twirls his spatula in the air, trying to think of a word.

"... something. Devil and something about biology... thing. From your world."
