The Demi-Fiend returns!

Summary: Shura tries to go back to her apartment from the Hospital.

Fortunately, the trip between Caduceus Hospital and the Visitor's apartment building in Pisces was a short one. Wheelchair-bound as she was now, thanks to trying to fight her Shadow, Shura didn't think she could have taken the humiliation of a longer trip. In addition to that, Hinoto-Ri itself had not really been designed for people who couldn't run. Getting in and off the tram was a pain, not to mention that to access an elevator, she had had to get off at the main station in Pisces and wheel herself all the way back to the apartments. Just as her still weak arms had about fallen off, she found herself in front of the building, and the five concrete steps leading to the main entrance. Fuck, she had forgotten about that. She honestly felt like crying, right now.

Exploring the new world he found himself in took priority. In any case, the Pisces apartment building- which half of the other visitors lived in- stood out like a sore thumb, amongst all the other wards he's been to. The storeys stacked up, almost like a tower- many similar existed in Tokyo, but have long been destroyed and vandalized.

Another something that sticks out like a sore thumb is the presence of someone at the entrance. Jonathan planned on just walking by as the sounds of movement reached his ears, but when he horned his head, he saw someone in a... strange chair, like that man Stephen from before. He's standing there for a moment, watching as the other doesn't move either, and it clicks in his head that if that person can't get off the chair, getting up the stairs is going to be a problem.

"Oh!" Jonathan walked a bit closer. "Do you require any assistance?"

Oh god she's been seen. Shura shamefully looks down and hides her face in her hands, but, she knows that won't make the man go away.

"Yeah," she sighed. "Stupid stairs."

If it's any consolation, Jonathan definitely isn't a guy who'd kick someone when they were down. "I'll help you up, then."

Also, for as flimsy as it looks, a wheelchair is actually kind of heavy. Jonathan is stronger than he looks too, though, being a Samurai and all- and manages to pull Shura and said wheelchair up five stairs. "...There. Are your legs hurt?"

"My everything is hurt, more or less," she corrects him, though without malice. She's too tired for malice. "I spent a week in a coma. I almost died. It's probably a miracle that I am not dead."

"... thanks."

Well, that's more than a bit alarming.

Jonathan's trying not to sound too horrified, though, and anyway... he's had his own share of miracles. "That is terrible..."

He's considering whether to question her on what happened, but that's probably not something in good taste. "You're welcome, miss. But you are alright now, correct? Apart from the... chair."

"I'll be all right, yeah. Eventually. I just need to heal some more before I can go back to running in the streets. In the meantime..." she gestured toward the wheelchair she was sitting in, ""I get to experience how fun life is when you can't walk."

"That's good. ...The fact you'll get better, I mean."

There's nothing linking Jonathan to the fact she's a Persona user yet, and someone defenseless out at the 13th Hour doesn't sound good, though he doesn't think anyone in the right mind would leave during the 13th Hour unless they have powers. Still, though. "Are you sure you'll be alright, though? Getting around will be a challenge."

Shura shrugged. "I don't know. I'll probably stay in my apartment and try not to go out. It's gonna suck out loud, honestly. Hopefully some demons will visit me or something."

...Saying 'hopefully some demons will visit me' doesn't normally stand as a very nice statement.

"Oh- huh? But how can you fight demons now?"

Shura very nearly whined at that. "I can't. But some of the demons out there like me. I'm hoping they'll bring me some food and help me around the house."

The whole Visitor's apartment building thing clicks in his head- so she's probably a Persona user, too. But knowing nice demons, too...?

"I myself have three demons under my control, but I didn't think you could form bonds with the ones here." Said three demons are technically angels, but the Gauntlet registers them as demons all the same.

Shura's expression immediately brightens despite her tiredness. "You have demons under your command too? That's so rare! I have demons under my command too, but, well, it feels wrong to bother Lord Shiva to get in and out of the bathroom..."

'Rare' is the right word. "I haven't seen any named Shiva... though, I do understand that notion. Pallas Athena normally roams the streets on her own, but the other two don't seem to have any desire to leave."

...Jonathan realizes he's chatting about demons to someone whose name he doesn't even know. "Oh, where are my manners? My name is Jonathan. What's yours?"

"I'm the Demi-Fiend, though I don't look like it right now." She gives a sigh. "People call me Shura. I like it. Can't say I have seen Pallas Athena before..."

"Demi-fiend...? I'll call you by Shura, then. It's nice to meet you."

He's curious, though. How does she know about demons and how did she make... friends with them? Maybe from her home world, like himself? "Did your demons come from your home world as well?"

[demifemme]

She nods. "Yeah. My world ended, so demons took over. I survived the end but I had to get demons' help to keep surviving."

[jonathandammit]

...So people here really have an affinity for 'dead worlds' and 'demon apocalypse', huh.

"Heavens, that sounds horrible... this place should be better than your home world, at least."

[demifemme]

"It's way above, yeah. For one thing, I don't have to eat the demons I killed." Real food was something Shura missed dearly. "Also I can change clothes here, and there are toilets with toilet paper, and I can take a hot shower with soap and shampoo." ... that too.

Yeah, that's probably a thing too.

"I was in a world with demons, myself... but it never became severe enough to spread across the Earth." At least, he hoped that it wouldn't.

"Oh. It didn't really spread to all the Earth in my world either. The Earth was obliterated. Only part of Tokyo remains."

... what.

'What' indeed.

"...That hardly sounds much better," Technically, that's Jonathan's world too. Not that he's exactly put it together. "My world's Tokyo is preserved, but under a large ceiling. There's only one other civilization in the world, which is where I hail from, the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado. It was built on top of the ceiling covering Tokyo."

Shura looked at him suspiciously. Then again... "What remains of Tokyo closed in on itself to form a sphere with a sun inside. It's... probably worse."

Hey, don't look at him that way! Which reminds him, how does she control her demons without a Gauntlet? Does she just beat them up until they listen?

"I see... that bears the question, though- how did you survive? And control demons, for that matter."

Shura blinks. Isn't it... kind of obvious? Oh right. Her markings are in Day Mode.

"I became a demon with a human heart. That's why I and the Demi-Fiend. Half a Fiend. Get it?"

...The thing is, Jonathan has rather... bad experience with people-turning-demons. They seemed to still have a human heart, but one was Flynn's best friend, and another voluntarily turned himself into Dullahan before fighting them.
