Art project [Action] [OPEN]
Hand me some of the blue ones....
[People in the Scorpio district today might notice a young girl decorating the outside wall of the Mark Immortal's theater. She's standing on a step ladder while an odd little creature hands her up various paints, brushes and other supplies. Right now she's using bits of colored glass, taken from various broken bottles found in the trash. The picture seems to be of people lining up to go to the theater. Those who look closer might notice that the people seem to be familiar. They're all various visitors that Akane has met or seen. They might even see themselves. Everyone is depicted as cheerful and friendly. The blue glass is currently being used to decorate someone's dress. And the little girl seems to be having a pretty good time herself.
.....But does she even have permission to do this?]
Ooh, that looks great! What do you think, Shizuo-kun?

no subject
I guess I'm sort of lucky that way. I don't really have anything important I was doing.
no subject
[He does want to go back, though. He really doesn't want to think that he's dead, but going back and feeling nothing would be...]
What did you do in your home world, then?
no subject
[And hanging out with loan sharks. But nice loan sharks. Not the mean ones.]
no subject
It is kinda worrying a random civilian like herself could be pulled in and forced to help with the 13th Hour, though. Which begs the questions.]
Oh, do you fight during the 13th Hour? I'm sure those lessons could help with that.
no subject
[She's actually quite proud of that.]
I practice with my persona so I can get strong enough to protect people!
no subject
Come to think of it, you most likely have more experience with your Persona than I do. [Honestly, though. This girl doesn't seem very old at all.] How old are you, by the way?
[because there are. demons. and as much as possible Jonathan doesn't exactly like the idea of anyone being exposed to demons, much less children.]
no subject
Eleven......
[Grown-ups were funny about things like that. Some of them thought she was too young to be doing the kinds of things she did.]
1/2
Jonathan certainly agrees with that. Eleven is not an acceptable age to sling people at demons who murder and pillage and tempt, haha, no. Even if they did survive, at such an impressionable age and the honeyed words of demons everywhere, what would they become?
...She's been here a whole year, though...]
2/2
[He doesn't really have a right to tell her to stop when she probably knows more than he does, right? Only thing Jonathan can do is maybe keep an eye out for her during the 13th Hour.]
no subject
It was scary at first, but I got used to it eventually.
no subject
[He has little desire to lecture someone who was dragged in from another world and only told to do that one duty. What else would they do? Even at 11?]
no subject
I make sure to be careful. I don't stay out too late anyway, cause I've got work and school.
[Akane is actually a very responsible young lady. She has to be, to survive without adult supervision for so long.]
no subject
Okay no, he's not that hopeless. ...Not anymore, anyway. He's been... trying to keep up with the mechanics of this city. He does succeed in painting somewhat acceptably, even though it obviously wasn't his forte.]
...Is this alright? [Look, three ambiguous figures in a uniform that looks like his!]
no subject
It's great! Are those your friends? The ones you mentioned before?
no subject
...Still.] They were my companions for the better part of my time as a Samurai.
[...yeah about that...]
no subject
[That sounds awfully impressive. Suddenly he looks a lot cooler.]
no subject
I mean, he decides it's fine to tell her, seeing she wasn't going to his world anytime soon.] That's correct. A Samurai from the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado, so to speak.
Our job was exterminating demons. Not too different from our job now.
no subject
[She doesn't meet a lot of experts.]
.....Do you have any advice?
no subject
THEY WILL EAT YOUR BRAINS]
Well... I was still a prentice back in my world. I suppose I could give some advice, though.
I was able to form contracts with demons before, and conscript them to fight for me instead. With all the cajolery and bribery that they wanted, of course. I'm... not sure if we can do that here, though.
[by that he meant he tried and just got punched in the face because he's a fucking idiot]
no subject
What's 'cajolery?'
no subject
Oh, it means using glozing and flattery to persuade someone to do something.
[JONATHAN PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE TALKING AN 11-YEAR-OLD GIRL]
no subject
................................
...................................................'Glozing?'
[She's starting to wonder what language he's speaking.]
no subject
...That means lipservice. [Uhhh.] Goading, except with positive words.
[he's trying so hard]
no subject
Oh! You mean complementing them?
no subject
[PHEW...]
Oh, I'd best be off soon. [Prepping for 13th Hour and also trying to understand the mechanics of this world needs time and effort, and he doesn't have that much of the former.] If you do want to negotiate with demons, though, you may have to prepare a large sum of money for them.
[it will end swimmingly of course]
