ARIES BOSS BATTLE [Closed]

Welcome to the Great Show on Earth

Where: Aries Stadium and Beyond
Summary: The Aries Monster Strikes unexpectedly.
When: 19th of April, 11AC, 13th hour.
Warnings: Fear, Horror, Dead bodies, Body Damage, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

There had been no warning. No special feeling.

Just strange things that set themselves up on all parts of the city. But for five Visitors, the situation is far different than the rising panic that is slowly building in the city. Without warning, they are whisked into a destination, as the lights of the stadium shine brightly in their eyes. There is little time to think about the irony that, once again, the stadium is at the center of the issue. How did they get here?

Before they can think or even see who their compatriots are, the lights move of their own accord, shining on a gigantic figure standing nearly twenty feet tall. There are four golden ram heads with a single body.

"LAAAAADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEN!!!"

It can speak? As it does, the happiest of the monster's head takes forefront.

"Weeeelcome to the greatest show on earth! The one, the only...me! Have you attended my media circus yet, or were you just sleeping? Regardless, congratulations! By a purely stroke of luck, you are the Outsiders that I have picked to fight me! You're all quite a challenge so to make sure I was up to the task, I've already practiced with citizens..."

It's face moves and changes to that one that looks terrified, the sound of grinding gears and metal turning.

"How they screamed and cried for mercy! Too bad for them!"

There's a pile of people to where it points with its cane. It's not...pretty to watch. There's more than a dozen people in there, no doubt...

"Are you ready for the main attraction, Outsiders? I'll start with only you five to face me in my full splendor!" The creature bows at the visitors, snickering to itself. As they watch, the head switches to the ram's head that looks angry.

"Now then! Formalities aside, this is a life or death situation! Death for you, of course. Fooooooor in this battle there is," Aries holds up its hands and goes back to the happier face. "NO rules, NO setup, NO stage level!" Confetti falls from the stadium's celebration piles. "Now then, Outsiders, let's see if you'll be able to save your beloved city, shall we?!"

"Cue the music!"

The monster's ego was clearly huge. Well there was no chance to say hi to each other, time to quickly prepare and get ready!

Aaaaah god it was so cold why him??? Crossing his arms tightly over his chest, hurt and shivering, he felt a change in his mind, like cards being shuffled. A kind woman emerged from his mind, appearing in a flash of blue light to place her hand on Sébastien's cropped hair.

"This is will help you out there, son," she said before healing Sébastien's wounds, allowing him to stand normally again... and return to his spot behind Shinjiro, now that he was no longer confused.

Sasha's face totally fell after the attack was completely absorbed. That was horribly, horribly embarrassing. So much for trying to be more powerful... and then the ice came, and she thanked her lucky stars that she didn't have Phaeton up right now. With a yelp, she shielded her face with her arms and took a few hits of ice. It stung quite a bit.

"I-I'm sorry, everyone! I didn't know that would happen!" That apology was incredibly lame, but that was all she could do for now. "Don't worry, I can heal!" She scanned the fighters, checking to see who looked most banged up, and decided that it would be Shinjiro. "Here, take this!" With that, she casted Diarahan on him.

"I can also do this, though I don't know how effective it's gonna be." She held out one hand and fired a flame that was shaped like a long dragon at the monster. Her natural magic was weakened in this world due to a different energy composition from her home world, which was why her Soul Persona wasn't completely redundant. If she had to attack by chip damage, though, it was what she'd have to do.

"Is it the faces that matter or the the attacks it uses?"

That was the question. He had used a mind and fire-based skills just a moment ago, and had been found vulnerable to both of those. Was it weak to ice and physical now? Hard to say. And he's not sure if he wants to chance another of his physical attacks being rendered ineffective.

Still, relieved that Castor's skill worked, Shinjiro retreats a more acceptable distance back from the monster (last thing he needed was to be right by him), shaking off the bits of ice and more than a little grateful for the healing.

He then uses the opportunity to cast Physical Break on the enemy. That should give most of them an attacking point, at the very least.

Shaking its fear off, the creature yelled out in frustration, as the music in the stadium rose up and the fire attack stuck on his pants, causing him to have to tap it out. The others may have heard the sound of a helicopter nearby, not the Nadesico, but something more native to the place.

The news. The city was now wide awake in the middle of the surprise attack, and from a safe distance, cameras were rolling.

Someone seemed happy with the bright light was flashed at him.

"Aha! I was wondering when the fools would show up. Well everyone, cameras are rolling and the whole city's watchin'! Let's light up a few more fires, shall we?"

It was back to the angry face again. With a sickening crack, it used its left leg to hurl the human bodies on the floor at them. Those were real bodies. Piece of dead demons and people scattered around them, sending whatever remained of the blood and organs crashing on top.

"Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night!" The face changed once more, fearful. "B-b-but let's see. How about...you? What should we talk about, so that the entire city can hear about it?"

The cane pointed to Shinjiro...or rather the boy hiding behind him.

"Where should I start? Ladies and gentlemen! This boy is available, but better act now before he dies cold and alone and not having experienced the taste of human flesh in its most carnal form...besides, he'll be easier to tame, once I break his legs..." He snapped his fingers.

Crack! The sound of his bones giving way, legs crumbling until he fell to the floor, was all too clear...for Sebastian. Stuck inside an illusion, to the others he'd simply fallen over, keeping his vocal agony, but unreachable by the others around him. And for him only, oh for him, he would continue to see the battle as it got worse and worse...

Ruri's Persona, the stupid dancing snowman thing she was given appeared and deflected the poison back at the monster before charging for an ice punch. Ruri however just stood there with a dumbfounded look on her face.

"....I'm not sure if that's a joke or not. If we can hold out till the Nadesico gets here I can get the distortion fields up."

Seb had never yelled so much nor so loud in his entire goddamned life. The fact that that monster had just told "national" television he needed to go laid was miles away from his mind as his freakin legs were freakin broken his career was over his life was over and why was no one helping him??? In his mind they all had discarded him to face the monster, which was of course a very reasonable course of action but Seb was not in a really reasonable state.

Sasha yelped as the bodies flew toward her, trying hard to keep her bile from rising from the smell. A severed arm smacked her in the face stump-first, and then she felt... distinctly sick. She had been poisoned by random encounters enough on her adventures to recognize that she was poisoned now, and she didn't even have any antidotes. Great.

A more pressing concern was the young man who was now screaming and collapsed not too far away from her. Clearly, he had been injured, and he needed healing... right? Never mind that Sasha's own strength was ebbing and she would need to heal herself soon; whatever the monster did to him sounded nasty. She sent a Diarahan his way, hoping that it would at least ease the pain.

Once that was done, Sasha flung off another dragon-shaped flame at the beast. It made the beast tarry for a few moments, so why not try again?

The bodies were disgusting, and Shinjiro flinches almost imperceptibly, though there's more pity than disgust there. He tries to ignore the new flecks of blood on his clothes, and the pieces of flesh around him—even here, he can't afford to get distracted. Then he hears Sébastian scream from behind him, and Shinjiro's head snaps behind him, affording Sébastian a concerned backwards glance, however momentary he redirects his gaze to where it should be, on the Ringleader again, because like it or not there's nothing he can do for him. He can't heal, or even dispel ailments. He's useless on that front. The entirety of his skills are physical. It's all about bringing something down. He hasn't liked it for a long time, but he knows what he can do and what he can't.

So he guesses he needs to fulfill his end of things, and he's not willing to lose whatever affordance the Physical Break gave him, and launches Castor forward.

Suddenly, a voice called out in their minds. Unfortunately for Seb, it was too far in to hear it, but the other three would recognize the grumpy old man behind it.

"I see. So it's brought several of you here. I'll be brief; strange tents have shown up in certain of the city's wards. No warning. There's a magical barrier protecting anyone from coming in, but the news helicopter has had no issue getting in...we think it might be purposefully doing that. It's never a good idea to give in to their demands but, it's probably too busy with that to notice who else is inside..."

That being implied; said grumpy old man was up there with the people rolling the cameras. Maybe if you'd wave you'd see him.

A wall of energy surrounds them, forming a barrier as the monster is distracted from both from what small harm it has gotten, and Q uses that time to talk some more.

"There wasn't much time to create a counter-offense, but Kandori and the others are busy at City Hall with the police force, while Visitors are tasked with attacking whatever creatures are in those tents. And--oh dear, it seems one of you fellows can't stop yelling, hold on..." Seb suddenly went mute. Or more like someone cast a spell on him. "It's the best I can do for now. I'll need some time to fix his situation. So now I'll need to ask you what you need of me..."

> Q can either become full support for the group, or you can ask him to aid you with direct combat and try to break the barrier surrounding the area.

"We're probably better off with the offensive support till the barrier can be brought down. The extra firepower from the air will help."

Her persona appears again, to Ice punch the monster again, Ruri just sweatdroping at it and shaking her head.

"....If I survive this I need to see if this was a joke."

Sasha couldn't help but smile weakly at the sound of Q's voice. Hooray, assistance! "I think some offensive support would be nice, because, well... I learned that I kind of can't do much to it aside from set it on fire every once in a while." She was still incredibly embarrassed about that botched Volt Carnage.

Meanwhile, she was starting to feel a little faint. It was the wounds from before with the added effect from the poison, of that she was certain. She pulled out Kohryu again and cast Diarahan on herself. It helped, as the pain eased, but she still felt quite nauseous. Stupid poison.

[The voice in his head is unexpected, but he recognizes the voice as soon as Q's tone comes through. He hears Sébastian go silent, which maybe wasn't completely necessary, but he'd rather not hear someone scream and not be able to do a damn thing about it. Did the healing spell not work?]

"If you can help us on the offensive side of things, that'd be as good as anything. If we can get that barrier you're talking about down, be more likely we can get other help coming in."

[With his opinion said, Castor appears in front of him again, continuing the physical assault against the Ringleader.]

"ARGH! Why won't you let me hurt you?!" The faces began to switch with each hit. Happy, Sad, Angry, Fearful, then back to the Happy before ending on the Sad one.

A pointless question, perhaps, but after attempting to throw another physical attack at them and getting nothing but getting it reflected right back at itself it was becoming livid, especially as their attacks pass through and hit him.

Once the barrier's energy is spent, it wastes no time.

"I'm going to make YOU an offer you can't refuse!" With Sebastian already out of the picture, Shinjiro feels a physical cut on him, as high physical damage is slammed into him, a bright white light adding additional light damage.

The face turned over to the angry one.

"Frankly, my dearies, I don't give a damn what happens with everyone." It wasn't wasting any time, as fire erupted from its entire body, sending a painful wave of intense fire everyone's way. For everyone else, it might have been painful, but for Shinjiro, he hadn't even had enough time to get up from the previous attack. It may be wise to tend to him after that...

The face switched over to the fearful one.

"H-ha! T-that's what you all get!"

Frankly? At his age, he expected the teenagers for him to stay back. How surprising. It had been quite a while since he'd been on the offensive side of the action.

"Well then, I suppose sometimes there's a time to watch back and a time to go in, guns blazing...Let me just preform a final scan on him..."

"Hmmm...it appears to be changing it's strength and weaknesses every time it can...Now Krios...I know I;ve heard that one before...ahh yes! That is in relation to the Aries constellation. So this means, if my calculations are correct based on all previous battles...you should all try using your mutations!"

> Mutations are now unlocked for this battle.

"Now then, since I'll be busy with the barrier, I suppose you should all make yourselves more useful and use some of these while we work at the barrier."

A few things gently fall from the news helicopter as it passes close by, away from the distracted monster and lands near them. A large boombox, some pens, a bus stop sign, metallic bombs, and a few guns. Happy holidays from your dear uncle Q?

> You may use one(1) of these along with any persona attack. Effects will depend on what they pick and use.

Ruri moves over and picks up the boombox and nods, "Everyone, shield your eyes, I have remote contact with the Nadesico and... Well, just shield your eyes."

Figuring Q knew what he was doing she points the speakers at the monster and flicks the on switch on as the wind kicks up around her, blowing her hair to make her almost look weightless as the Nadesico locks on with its missile racks, launching a salvo at the barrier and as that salvo finishes firing its main gun in an alpha strike against it.

Thankfully the helicopter is inside of the barrier when the attacks hit. The area outside is left damage, as the parking lot and pathways leading to the arena are completely trashed, leaving nothing but smouldering craters. Good thing no one else was close by.

The barrier is showing intense lines of cracking, as the monster looks upwards, panicking, enough for a giant missile to hit from the blaster right into one of its faces. It tethers, trying to use its cane to stay upright...

> Keep attacking its weaknesses to cause the creature to fall down!
> The Barrier is operating at 40% capacity.

Sasha winced and covered her face as the flames rushed over her. She had a bit of natural resistance to fire magic, but normally she also had a persona active to suck up fire damage. Kohryu was great and all, but no fire resistance meant she was going to take most of the brunt of the attack.

Once that was done with, Sasha took a moment to appraise the situation. Shinjiro had taken multiple hits; it stood to reason that he'd be in quite some need of healing. She sent a Diarahan his way, hoping that would get him back on his feet.

Then Sasha decided to attend to the various gadgets that had been scattered about. No one should have been surprised by her decision to claim one of the pens. "What does this do?" she wondered aloud, giving it a click. If it did something, that was great; if not, at least she could claim she received a pen from Q. Speaking of Q, he had mentioned that they should start using their mutation skills, but she wasn't entirely sure when to deploy hers. Being able to negate one hit of any sort of non-almighty damage would be a great boon, but she kind of needed to make sure everyone was patched up, first...

"Those are exploding pens, don't misuse them like that!"

Oh. Well just in case they were wondering if Q was being his usual self.

"Three clicks and then throw it at your target, four to stop the bomb from exploding!"

If it's any consolation, he's been hit with worse, but he's grateful, nonetheless, for the healing spell. And, after recovering from the barrage of hits, Shinjiro sprints over to where the Bus Stop Sign is (is this his or another one? And where the hell did Q gets this one from this time.)

Then, not wanting to waste the time he has, nor wanting to deplete his physical strength so quickly after recovering it, he summons Castor again, and aims for the ringleader's other weakpoint, before running up to strike the Krios with the weapon Q had so conveniently dropped. Might as well see what it can do.

That did it. Without a good standing, the monster began to topple over, before it crashed (violently, may we add) into the back of the stadium. Pieces of rubble and chairs fell. More damage to add to the city's tab, one supposes.

But that's not important right now. It's down for the count! With poor Sébastian still screaming silently, it's time for a team attack!

In the rush of dust and gravel, the three manage to attack the monster while it's down, dealing it additional damage. It stands there, struggling as weapons enter the softer part of its body, rendered completely silent for a few seconds.

Then there's the sound of rockets being fired from the helicopter taking advantage of the situation, as it moves just enough that its not noticed from the beast.

When all is said is done, the monster somehow manages to stand up again, but its definitely weaker. The stance is less upright than before, the cane looks like it's been cut in pieces and rust has begun to show on the heads. When it moves from one to another, they can see sparks and hear the cranking having issues.

Thankfully it also means that whatever spell was holding Sebastian in place appears to have been cleared.

It doesn't have time to counter-attack before the group goes again...
