Someone knows how to throw a party

Summary: In celebration of setting up her new and improved residence, Kaguya's throwing a housewarming party, and everyone's invited.
Warnings: PG-13 for alcohol?

[She'd set out the video invitation, purchased whatever supplies she though she'd needed, and set up things accordingly. Now all Kaguya really had to do was wait. That was something she was exceptionally good at.

It wasn't until several hours before the party began that she set out the food and drink. So long as Kaguya was present, the food would remain fresh, the drinks would remain cold, and the temperature would remain perfectly comfortable.

In addition to the main rooms being set up for dining and mingling, most of the rest of the temple was open as well, showcasing some of the artistry that had already been present. However, there were some areas that had very obviously recently been decorated in different fashions, and the inner courtyard was in the process of being converted into a most lovely Japanese style garden complete with bonsai, koi ponds, and lanterns.

She herself was dressed up for the occasion, wearing a brand new and very elegant looking kimono. She didn't need to dress up, but she did anyway. She also made a point to greet anyone who walked in through the doors. She always did play a good hostess.]

[ It was generally polite to bring a gift upon the first visit to another's home. Since Takakage was still new, he did not have much funds to purchase things with. Plus, it seemed more sincere to give something handmade.

He turned up at Kaguya's address bearing a delicate calligraphy scroll. Upon it was inscribed a haiku written about Itsukushima's red maple leaves - a work originally composed back home, but never written down. Given what he could deduce of his host's tastes, it would stand a reasonable chance of being acceptable.

As for the temple... its construction was breathtaking. Much more complex than that of Itsukushima, that was sure. Spires and stone carvings adorned every wall and pillar. A different style, perhaps? ]

Good evening, Lady Kaguya. [ He gave her a small half-bow. ] Thank you for the invitation.

[While Kaguya knew of that particular custom, it wasn't one she often had to remember. She never visited others, preferring to stay in the comfort of her own home.

Honestly, the temple was far more than she'd expected when one of her acquaintances had mentioned it to her. Nonetheless, she'd been pleasantly surprised. While certainly more complex than she was used to, it had its charm. She still much preferred Eientei, however.

She greeted him with a smile, returning the bow.]

To you as well. You're most welcome.

[ He retrieved the scroll from where it had been secured to the back of his belt. It had been placed into a plain beige drawstring pouch. While it may have seemed a strange way of carrying objects, Takakage had already practiced the art of packaging things too large to fit into the pockets sewn onto his overcoat. ]

I hope you find this an aesthetically pleasing addition to your home. [ The strategist presented it to her with both hands. ]

[Kaguya was always intrigued by things that were different from the norm. Life would be so boring if everyone did everything the same way. That was one of the problems with being immortal. Eventually, you'd see everything.

She accepts the scroll with another smile.] Why thank you. I'm sure I will find a suitable place for it.

[ Now that the customary formalities were over, their conversation was in danger of coming to a standstill. Kaguya gave him the impression of one as intensely private as himself. Asking her any personal questions would be unwise.

Takakage cast around for another topic. ]

Do you know much about this temple, Lady Kaguya? I have heard that it was dedicated to a goddes not of this world.

[Oh, he could certainly ask them, but it was likely that she'd give him cryptic answers in return.

As for his question, she shook her head.] I know little about it, save for what I was told, and what is here. I do have to say that she had good taste, however.

I see. [ Takakage nodded. Perhaps some searching around the temple would provide some answers. But it was impolite to simply end their exchange here. ]

Could you enlighten me about it, then?

[Kaguya nods. Besides, if she'd been told everything about it, there would be no pleasant surprises as she learned about it herself.]

I don't see why not. What is it that you wish to know?

[ Takakage tilted his head. ]

Whatever you deem fit to tell me, I suppose.

[Fumi arrives carrying a bottle of expensive red wine in one hand and with a towel and a black swimsuit draped over the other arm.]

Kaguya.

[She nods to her hostess with a small smile.]

[Kaguya greets Fumi with a bow.]

I'm glad you could make it. I see you came prepared.

I suppose not.

Am I to assume you will be heading straight to the baths, then?

Most likely. I don't mingle well.

That's a shame. This could be a wonderful opportunity to practice.

Splendid. Being social is rather harmless, you know.

Well, I suppose there are exceptions, but so long as you regulate your intake of alcohol, I foresee no problems. [Although a little booze might loosen her up a bit!]

[Kaguya honestly doesn't mind. It's not like she expects everyone to dress up specially for the occasion. ]
