Spring Celebration [OPEN TO ALL]

Who: Everyone
Where: All around the city
Summary: Open!
Warnings: None

Spring had finally arrived in Hinoto-Ri, and with it, a sense of renewal. The cold winter had gone, sweeping away memories of Shadows, endlessly repeating days, and awkward Valentine's Day escapades. A great deal of the damage to the city had been restored since the previous fall(although there is still damage from the Aries battle, but what else is new) and the gentle sun shining overhead in the midst of clear skies and a fresh breeze made it easy to forget that Hinoto-Ri was such a volatile place.

Life in the city goes on. And while there was no official government-hosted festival this year, the cherry trees throughout Capricorn remain present to be enjoyed, nonetheless. The first cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom and the pink blossoms are surely the most beautiful sight there is to see in Hinoto-Ri...

Tens of thousands of trees dotted the park's landscape, but it was the Cherry trees that were the stars of the weekend, the pink petals creating a heavenly smell only enhanced by the small stalls that were busy selling hot yakitori (grilled chicken on sticks), takoyaki (octopus balls on sticks), shioyaki (Salty grilled sea bream on sticks ) and kakigori (Shaved ice with syrup, not on a stick).

The prime picnic places were being taken and families grouped together to eat homemade lunches and bento, but there were still many spots and trees to go under should you wish to do so with friends. Young couples walked hand in hand and many young students sat under the trees, reading books or playing games.

Underneath a particularly large tree, the temples and shrines of the city have once again set up an area for O-Mikuji, where it was possible to get a fortune. 5 yen is the luckiest, though any offering will do.

There are, naturally, many other opportunities for the Visitors now that the weather is warming up. Picnics in the park, trawling the increasingly lively street-side stalls for trinkets and vendor food like takoyaki and yakitori, spending more time at night fighting demons during the 13th Hour now that it's not freezing cold...

Well, perhaps the last one isn't quite so fun. But the demons, too, seem bolder now that the weather has changed - with the exception of the Frosts, of course.

[OOC - Open log for all players! Start your own threads! have a picnic under the plants, eat a bunch of food or join others, mingle to your heart's content, tomorrow the ability to buy fortunes will be posted, and your character's fates may gain something new.

ETA: Fortunes will be delayed due to unexpected real life circumstances.]

The other's words carried more than just a few foreign terms. While the translator should have given it meaning, they were too distant to come out as anything more than proper nouns.

"... I see." Takakage answered after a short pause. So they were a different kind of creature - but very rare, too. He didn't know that Kotoha had some too - perhaps they were from her world?

He filed the question away for future inquiring.

"I presume it takes instruction from you? Like a Persona... but only in that aspect?"

not being dead is EXCELLENT

It's okay, there was a learning curve that Eikcihi himself had to climb. Then again he'd claim he knew exactly what he was doing from the beginning, it wasn't like he flailed around more than his own Pokemon for a while, that would be silly.

"Yeah a bit like that!" It was how he had thought of it at first. "There's certain things it can learn and as long as you keep him happy, he follows what I say."

However, he wasn't a perfect trainer either.

"It's okay, we came to an understanding."

Presumably it served as a battle ally like other Persona did. However, it was a large creature - how did he manage to keep it, then? Seeing that it functioned as a pet or a similar creature companion of some sort...

But more about that later. Courtesy first.

"I see." Takakage nodded, giving the other a faint smile. "Ah - please pardon my lapse in conduct. May I know your name?"

"Of course, babe, of course!" Yes, any reason to flaunt his beautiful, amazing perfect self was never going to get passed. "Allow me to introduce myself to the world. Eikichi Mishina, or Michel, sending love to all the ladies of the world, HOOOOOOOOO!"

Surprisingly, Eikichi does not smoke anything, as one might wonder.

Takakage tried his best not to flinch, reducing his response to a very slight step backwards. Eikichi was... very... loud...

"... I see." He recovered quickly, though. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance." His own voice sounded faint in comparison. "My name is Takakage Kobayakawa, retainer of the Mouri clan."

Eikichi was definitely Japanese. Perhaps he was from the future as well?
deathboss: (Grin - Cocky Kid)

He does but he's not the best student so I'm sorry in advance

"Nice to met ya, Takakage! Sounds like you come from some sort of old samurai planet!" Cause of course there is no way it could be like his earth (get with the program, Eikichi).

"That explains the outfit. My dad would freak out seeing you...he's very 'old school'." Or perhaps one might would have just said traditional. However Eikichi wasn't the type to throw words like that especially if he was trying to step away from that. Ahhh, teenage rebellion.

ah I thought he might have recognized takakage hahahaha saionji did

Takakage nodded politely. "If you hail from the nation once known as the Land of the Rising Sun, then I am from your past. " Saionji was. "I believe it is now named Japan, in the modern tongue."

It still felt rather surreal to be speaking with those from the future. History had cast them in an... interesting light.
deathboss: (Grin - Sparkles I am the best)

maybe if he was a rock start he'd reconize him--okay no that's terrible

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-05-03 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
Land of the Rising sun was so poetic. Man he loved the sound of that when it came out of someone from that time that it almost made him want to write a song about it. Thankfully for everyone else, he decided not to.

"Yeah that's right! I'm Japanese all the way, baaaaby!"

Takakage nodded politely. "May I know which year your timeline is currently at?" Saionji's was four to five centuries ahead of his time.

Though... Eikichi made him uncomfortable. The youth was too flamboyant, almost rivaling the kabukimono of the Sengoku Era. Even worse than Saionji, too, and the strategist had thought her extreme. Had culture and civility deteriorated so far over time? What a tasteless world the future must be...
