Spring Celebration [OPEN TO ALL]

Spring had finally arrived in Hinoto-Ri, and with it, a sense of renewal. The cold winter had gone, sweeping away memories of Shadows, endlessly repeating days, and awkward Valentine's Day escapades. A great deal of the damage to the city had been restored since the previous fall(although there is still damage from the Aries battle, but what else is new) and the gentle sun shining overhead in the midst of clear skies and a fresh breeze made it easy to forget that Hinoto-Ri was such a volatile place.

Life in the city goes on. And while there was no official government-hosted festival this year, the cherry trees throughout Capricorn remain present to be enjoyed, nonetheless. The first cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom and the pink blossoms are surely the most beautiful sight there is to see in Hinoto-Ri...



Tens of thousands of trees dotted the park's landscape, but it was the Cherry trees that were the stars of the weekend, the pink petals creating a heavenly smell only enhanced by the small stalls that were busy selling hot yakitori (grilled chicken on sticks), takoyaki (octopus balls on sticks), shioyaki (Salty grilled sea bream on sticks ) and kakigori (Shaved ice with syrup, not on a stick).

The prime picnic places were being taken and families grouped together to eat homemade lunches and bento, but there were still many spots and trees to go under should you wish to do so with friends. Young couples walked hand in hand and many young students sat under the trees, reading books or playing games.

Underneath a particularly large tree, the temples and shrines of the city have once again set up an area for O-Mikuji, where it was possible to get a fortune. 5 yen is the luckiest, though any offering will do.

There are, naturally, many other opportunities for the Visitors now that the weather is warming up. Picnics in the park, trawling the increasingly lively street-side stalls for trinkets and vendor food like takoyaki and yakitori, spending more time at night fighting demons during the 13th Hour now that it's not freezing cold...

Well, perhaps the last one isn't quite so fun. But the demons, too, seem bolder now that the weather has changed - with the exception of the Frosts, of course.

[Excellent. Nano has at least a little bit of practice doing this king of thing, having spent the first year of her life raising an eight year old girl. So she bends down to set her sandals down by the tree, sneaking low to the ground and deciding to go for the feet first. That was always where Hakase was the most ticklish. Once she's within range, she lunges!]

Desco-chaaaaaaaaaaaan!

Desco has tiny, tiny feet - even for a small child, they're tiny, mostly because she doesn't particularly need feet. It's just cute to see her tottering about unsteadily when she tries. The upshot of this is that her tiny crimson soles are incredibly ticklish, leaving her squirming helplessly with breathless laughter at Nano's assault.

[Nano giggles too, terribly amused with herself and that this is working even better than she thought it would.]

Tickle tickle tickle~!

[Her fingers are absolutely merciless, poking at Desco's tiny toes and wiggling against her soles.]

Desco's legs are jerking wildly in Nano's grasp, although not quite enough to dislodge them, while her tail thumps heavily against the ground.

"Ahhhhhahaha heeeee..."

Does it tickle?

[Rhetorical question, of course, but it's one you're supposed to ask when you're doing this. Nano laughs as she captures one of Desco's feet and starts tickling one toe at a time, wiggling each one back and forth like she's playing a game of 'this little piggy.']

Desco nods, still not quite up to actually speaking after her gigglefit.

And this one ran aaaaaaaall the way home!

[Nano finishes wiggling the last little toe, finally letting go.]

With a thrust of her tail, Desco floats upward, wiggling around to form a C-shape as she lunges for Nano, arms outstretched.

The tip of Desco's long, pointed ear ends up directly underneath Nano's nose as she proceeds to hug Nano.

[Nano happily returns the hug, not even flinching for a moment. There was a time when she might have worried about Desco fighting back too hard after teasing like that, but she trusts her completely. This might well be a scene of a young mother hugging her cute daughter if they weren't so obviously a robot and a demon.]

I had a feeling you'd be ticklish there!

Desco nods happily.

"Sis! Sis! Desco is gonna be five soon!"

Wow! A whole hand!

[Nano smiles, holding her hand up for Desco.]

We'll have to have a special party!

"Yaaaay!"

Calming down, Desco folds both hands together over her obi and bows politely.

"Desco would like to thank Sis for the gracious gift she has received."

...what gift?

...Huh? What gift is that?

"You left enough samples of your handwriting lying around that Desco taught herself how to forge your signature!"

BEAMING

"And so, Desco's full, legal name is now Death/Extermination Submersible Combat Organism Kazamatsuri-Shinonome!"

...y-yaaay?

...wait what why are you not more happy?

"Y...es?"

You know that's illegal, right...?

"...even for Queen Desco, the despot who overthrew the combined military might of the entire Earth?"

[Nano nods slowly.]

Yes... it's not good to do that kind of thing. It's not fair to the people who follow the rules, and it's not fair to the person whose signature you're using.

[But before Desco has much of a chance to get too distraught about this, Nano smiles at her, opening her arms for another hug.]

You should have just asked me. I would have happily signed those papers myself.
