Who: Ideo Hazama and open!

Summary: Ideo's a little frustrated after a certain network post went up. So, he's off to work off stress!
Warnings: Ideo being broody as usual...???

It had taken him a good ten minutes to literally pry himself from his computer in R&D. He'd left Ceu in charge of the lab, made his way through the building's fluorescent lights, and braced himself for the strong winds. The weather was predicting clouds tomorrow, and with how blustery it'd been, he could easily believe it.

He hadn't bothered to bundle himself up however, just stepped out on to the street with his lab coat flapping. If he got a cold, it'd sort of be a welcome relief- he hadn't realized how tense he'd been lately until that post. Maybe he was working too hard?

Or maybe he was just overly worried...it was sort of the season for him.

Ideo didn't really have a destination in mind; he just walked the streets with his shoulders hunched, waiting for his nerves to calm down enough that he could return to work. But he didn't realize how far he'd walked from the building...

Ideo seemed like he wasn't going to notice the man at all- until the situation itself seemed to come in to perspective. Someone leaving that factory, apparently with Potential if his senses are keen enough, and...

"Oh...did they call you?"

Ideo struck up a conversation himself, stopping awkwardly to look up at the building.

"That factory, I mean. Are you the spirit medium I spoke with on the COMP?"

"Huh?" Oh hey. "Yeah, that's me. It was a false alarm, though. Apparently they have an infestation of the sort that's out of my job description." Bleah. "Ah, you're..." He DID kind of speak with a lot of folks via COMP.

"Ideo Hazama, I'm one of the Seven." He gave an awkward laugh up at the building, shaking his head.

"They called me last week- they thought it was a demon infestation. I told them there were rats, but they wouldn't believe me. I guess they moved on to you after...sorry about that."

Ah ha! "I see! So you were the one who was helping new folks out a while back. I'm Nick Reeve. A pleasure." He holds a hand out to shake.

He rubs the back of his neck. "I guess in an atmosphere like this, you get a bit jumpy, huh? I can't really negotiate with rats, though. I, uh, don't speak the language." He pauses. "Unless squeaky squeak means something."

Ideo doesn't seem to mind shaking his hand, but immediately adjusts his silk gloves the second the shake is over. "Likewise, Mr. Reeve."

He actually gave a small little snort at the squeaky, shaking his head again. "I only wish. Some demons can commune with animals, but I sure can't either."

"Is that so? I have to admit, I haven't dealt too much with demons back home. Most of my dealings were..." He tries to think of a diplomatic term. "Kinda unpleasant."

Putting it super mildly there, man.

"They're my specialty- I've been working with demons for quite a while now." Even if he doesn't have literal negotiation skill like certain Persona casts. Hmph.

"They're usually open to negotiation around here, because most rather treat them as monsters or as mindless things. Though, I know it's not always so- there's plenty of cocky demons, too, of course."

"I see." He nods. "I suppose it only makes sense. Only humans would be arrogant enough to assume they and they alone are open to reason, right?" He pushes his glasses up. "It almost makes you wonder why demons and humans are such at odds to begin with. Although I assume some of them have... diets that aren't complimentary to working with humans."

Cooking them, maybe.

Ideo nods, a little more muted this time. "Demons feed from emotional energy, typically, if not blood itself. I can't fault them for this, however, as there's indications that demons are as much a creation of man as a Persona is."

He seemed to consider his words carefully before continuing. "I'm specifically researching the social relations between demons and humans in relation to the Persona phenomenon, so our mutual dependence on one another has become something of a focal point."

"Emotional energy..." He supposes that explains a few things about his own... condition, anyway. Block off access from anybody else and you've got your own feeding trough. He suppresses a bit of a shudder. "The social relations, huh... have you found any solid points of evidence to the connection between Personas and demon-human relationships so far?"
