[Game Opening, Part 4 : Mission 2 - Fire the Arrow of War]
Who: Jun Kuga, Theodore, Yamato, Ludwig, Elizabeth Middleford, Atsuro, Aoba, Urataros, Volstagg
Where: The Saggitarius Research and Development lab, wards C4 & B4.
Summary: Help defend the prototypes and barricade the labs.

The build itself seemed unimpressively gray, four stories tall, lacking in windows, and yet oddly cylindrical. There seemed to be some sort of commotion on the roof, but there wasn't much time to examine the exterior. Once the group had stepped close to the front door, they were almost immediately ushered up the emergency staircase, to the fourth floor. The lights within the R&D department were almost blindingly clinical, with many of them being backed up by black lights. The combination made the area a little jarring to stand around in, but it seemed the COMP glasses came in handy for that, cutting some of the dizzying effects.
The fourth-floor door was opened wide by an odd looking pixie, who seemed to regard the group coldly before gesturing them in. Behind her was a black-haired teen, no older than seventeen at most, frantically standing at a console and typing away. The room was completely white, littered with odd gadgets and glass enclosures straddling other computer terminals. The room seemed to be bustling with energy, even with the presumed lack of people in it. The pixie floated over to the teen, tapping him once on the shoulder to get his attention, before he spun around fast and harsh.
"Oh! Good, just barely in time, thank you..."
He dragged a gloved hand over his tired face, and gave a half-sort of bow. "My name is Ideo Hazama. I'm one of the head researchers..."
The screen behind him beeped, and he immediately turned back to it with a muttered curse. Seems he was going to be explaining the situation with his back turned, then! "The Anoli began their attack from the roof, breaking in to ward C4 first- we didn't expect them to be so daring. Several of our most potent prototypes are housed in B4, as well as here in D4." The labcoated teen gestured to the screen, and a map of the floor came up; it seemed to be in real time, showing blips for enemies and damaged doorwars. "Our first priority is to keep this area secure, while taking back B4. Once that is under control, we can push them out of C4, then pursue them to the roof if needed." As he spoke, Ideo gestured across the map without looking at his audience directly. He was probably not a people person anyway. "We cannot allow them to leave with the prototypes we have here...lives depend on this."
Finally, he turned back around, pointing to the doors labeled A4. C4, for the time being, seemed to be guarded by several imposing demons. Odd. "Reiko is in A4 right now, with the frontal assault force. The rest of our team is guarding the other emergency stairwells that lead downstairs. When you have cleared B4, my forces here will go through to C4 and meet you for a pincer attack. I would like to request that some of you stay here, in case we have trouble- everyone else, make your way to A4."
[OOC: As with every log like this, you are free to start your own sub-thread and have your characters stop swarms of monsters on your own. The place is being invaded by demons as well as Anoli! Don't forget to write your character's Persona awakening as well! Finally, here is a map, for easier comprehension!]

... But he was replaaaaaced what is his purpose now? What did (Lord) Philemon have in mind for him, if not to assist Master Igor and the rest of these people? Elizabeth would be thrilled to hear this. Theodore is not. He doesn't want to not be useful in the Velvet Room.

"He may well need help, with how many people we've had arrive. You should probably discuss it with him."
This was why Ideo didn't socialize very often.
"Caroline? Uh, she's..." How, do you explain Caroline. "She's- blonde, except for her hair streak. She wears indigo and blue, like you all do..." This is...probably not what Theodore meant, Ideo. Finally, he caved, looking a little crestfallen, like he was delivering bad news. "...Caroline has a sweet tooth. It's really a problem, sometimes. Back during Tanabata, she ate more wagashi than I've ever seen someone consume."

Besides, it might not be so bad. This meant he could spend time with his guest. And with Elizabeth and Margaret, also free from their duties momentarily. He could even learn more about this world! And impress people with his knowledge he will be solidifying here! Maybe Master Igor would even allow them to put up requests.

"I see! Well then, we will have to keep her teeth properly sweet if we are to lend a hand to Master Igor. He cannot contain a young woman if he doesn't have what she wants on hand, after all. There are also two others like myself here, and we will be happy to be called upon should there be any emergency regarding an overflow of potentials or any other issue."

"My assistant Ceu bakes for her a lot, though she'd never admit it. But some of the more complicated recipes are beyond our grasp. She rewards any help she gets, but I imagine you know how that goes."
He'd been oddly, concerned for Caroline's sudden workload, so honestly Theo's comments made him relax just a little. Enough that his shoulders weren't so stiff and tense.

While he can, he will just lean a little to peer at the researcher's screen. Or try to. Since they're so buddy-buddy now. He respects Ideo's personal space though since he has one himself. And, he couldn't help but overhear a little earlier --
"And these prototypes... Will they really be able to give those who are unable to use their potential a chance to fight the Anoli?"

That actually sounds nice...my Persona doesn't lend well to helping me with cooking, so I'm pretty reliant on a cookbook."Probably sounded odd, but most people in Hinoto-Ri who were native Persona users used it more like kitchen magic than as any superhero power.
He did mind his space being invaded, but luckily his attention was still somewhat on the topic of sweets, so he let it go. Toast and jammmmmmm-
Oh, right. the DDS-COMPs. "I hope- no, I believe so." His conviction, for once, shined through his words, and his typing speed picked up the pace to match. "Some people think it's too dangerous, letting civilians or even police try to "control" demons. They don't realize that demons aren't the problem here, they're not evil. Several are, but the same could be said of humanity. Both of us have potential for cruelty- I'm also concerned that people may mistreat demons out of spite and past grudges. I don't want people to "own" demons, I want them to be allies, partners. But when I tried to put in fail-safes to allow demons some protection from potentially being mistreated..."
A deep, deeeeeeeeep sigh. "...politics are not my forte, let's put it that way. Many feel that trying to protect both humans and demons is foolish."

He listens quietly, and nods as the other man talks. Persona were the same way, as were the Shadows they often took the form of. There was no such thing as a bad or evil Persona unless it was used for such, though there were certainly ones more aggressive in that light than others. Like Beelzebub. He had that one in his arsenal back home.
"That's quite the goal you have. Perhaps I can be of some assistance in that regard! I regard myself as a rather good persuader and while I agree with your ideals I can see the problem that lies in protecting both. There may be some unintended bias on either side, as correct as you are in your thoughts. I will bring it up with my master and ask for his thoughts on the matter if you'd like." As well as his sisters and Minako's opinion, but he feels that they would agree.

Ideo was probably gonna get a gold star from Reiko when all of this was over. YOU TRIED TO MAKE A FRIEND. BIG SISTER SO PROUD.Ideo seemed surprised to hear any sort of positivity coming from the demon subject- many of the previous arrivals hadn't exactly been in agreement, except those that had conventional COMPS, or were from demon-summoning families. But even they had gotten bias involved, and...
"I could use all the persuasive help I can get." He'd never thought of asking Igor, or Caroline- but Theo might have had a better chance of that anyway. "My sister has told me to be patient, but...I feel this is my penance. My duty. Too many demons are counting on me for me to give up so easily." And a nod; "Even if they can't help, thanks for listening."

Why do they get to have all the fun let's start the Repentant Researcher / Velvet Attendant Social Link right now!!!At least they share that 'duty' thing, even if Theodore's is rather unclear for the time. Before coming here, it had been to assist future guests within the Velvet Room and keep Lord Philemon's victory assured, so that way he could be helping his brilliant guest as well as she protected the seal. While Elizabeth had left, he had stayed. Minako'd been counting on him like that.
"I understand completely. I had a duty as well, though it seems I'll have to find a new one here... In any case, I will do all I can to insure your ideas are at least heard, if not acted upon." Though the latter would definitely be a really nice bonus.
