Who: Pit and Rune Calstead

Warnings: Probably awkwardness.

There is one smooth angel making his way to a certain door in the Pisces apartment complex. He's wearing a nice pair of brown dress shoes, pristinely ironed khaki pants and beige shirt, tucked in neatly, and serving as the backdrop for a brown tie that has no business being tied so well by a (theoretical) 13-year-old.

He is also carrying a bouquet of flowers. And candy.

And he is wearing cologne. Has the narration mentioned, he also combed and brushed his hair?

This is what happens when you leave your angel to go through puberty alone, Lady Palutena. He overdoes it by a mile.

Still, as confident as he may have seem walking into the complex, he grows more and more nervous by the minute, until he finds himself hesitating as he stands outside of Rune's door. This is going to go okay, right? He hasn't...overdressed, has he?

Closing his eyes, and taking a deep breath, he knocks.

Rune was a nervous wreck. She had gotten some really good advice, and felt like she was ready for this whole date thing -- she even slipped a cute little skirt on over her shorts and combed out her hair! Damn if she wasn't still pacing around the apartment and just two inches short of flailing like crazy...

And then Pit knocked.

Rune literally jumped out of her skin at that, wringing her hands and smoothing out her skirt, before going to open the door. Her heart sank a bit when she saw how dressed up Pit was, her stomach doing a flip.

"I-I thought we were just going to do dinner and the arcade...?"

"Yeah!" he squeaks, then gives his clothes an embarrassed look. "...I guess I overdid it."

Rune let out an exasperated noise; wow, Pit... he was really a hopless one. She reached out, grabbing him by his tie.

"Get in here," she ordered, giving a sharp tug.

"Wuah!"

And thus he is dragged in, wings flapping and all. Naturally, a few feathers have fallen astray.

"Geeze, Pit..." Rune muttered, fumbling to undo his tie before tossing it off. She unbuttoned his collar first, before reaching up and completely mussing up his hair.

The only thing attached to Pit that moved while she did this were his wings, which stretched aaaaaall the way out--while their owner stood rigid and red as a tomato.

Rune made a face as she pulled her hands away, looking like she had just dipped them in grease.

"...Pit, what did you put in your hair?"

"mmmbblmmmwmmbl," he says.

"What?"

"Hair grease," he replies, voice still tight.

Come on Rune you touched him that's rendering him unable to speak!

"Urgh..." she muttered, waving to the kitchen sink. "Go rinse that stuff out of your hair. I need to wash up now."

She walked off to the bathroom; better do as she says Pit...

"But I need a towel!" he says, jogging over to the rest room.

You don't want this to become a ~wet t-shirt contest~ after all.

Rune didn't even turn around, grabbing a towel off the rack and flinging it back to him before closing the door behind her.

"...thanks."

Anyway, he returns to the kitchen, thoroughly rinsing out that nasty hair grease that he thought was a good idea at the time. Once he's through, he rapidly rubs the towel against his hair until it's dry, and somehow back to its iconic Brawl-design glory.

Rune came out a moment later, letting out a faint sigh as she went over to the kitchen, peering in at him. A small smile worked its way onto her face at the sight of him toweling off.

"...that's better," she said softly.

Pit's cheeks do flush a little red, but at least he's smiling back. "You look nice, too."

Rune blushed a bit herself, folding her hands behind her back.

"Um... a girl I know suggested a good restaurant... let's go there first, okay?"

"Okay! What kind of restaurant is it?"

Teenage boy. Food. You know how it goes.

"Um... she said it was a maid and butler restaurant," she replied. Honestly, she... really has no idea what that entails, but it sounds fun.

"...sounds a bit weird, but as long as the food is good..."

He offers his arm. "Shall we~" he asks in a pseudo-suave voice.

Rune let out a laugh, rolling her eyes though she wasn't annoyed by his attempt at being classy. She hurried over, slipping her arm around his and letting him escort her... even though she needed to give him directions to the place.

Pit spent 50% of Uprising on rails he's used to being the Man of Action while being given directions.

And anyway: "So...where is this place?" he asks once they've stepped outside the building.

(...he really, really hopes Dark Pit wasn't around to see any of this while he was inside.)

Rune told him, giving him the directions she had gotten off of Minako. "I haven't been there before, but she promised we'd get good service if we came on a night she was working..."

"Oh, so she's working tonight? It's always nice to have connections," he says, headed in the direction she told him. "Is she a friend of yours?"

"Actually, I'm not sure if she's working or not, but it's still worth a shot, right?" she asked, peering around anxiously. They should be coming up on it soon, right...?
