01 - Selphie's Merry Christmas
Who: Selphie and anyone who happens to be around or passing through ie, Open!
Where: Pisces Ward, Level 5
Summary: Selphie is decorating for Christmas! Yay!
Warnings: Singing and lots of Christmas cheer, and a clutz on a ladder.
Christmas time! Selphie's been around her new home for almost a month and gradually, bit by bit, she's getting more used to the place. The fact that Christmas is coming up is keeping her happy, and busy. But she doesn't have a job yet, and her money's running low, so as much as she'd like the decorations to be magical or splendid, all she has is some cheap tinsel.
Does that bother Selphie? Not in the slightest. She's done decorating her room, and now she's moved out into the hallway. Lucky people who live on her floor! She's managed to find herself a ladder and, given that she's pretty tiny, she's standing on it quite high, reaching up to tape tinsel along the ceiling. There are strands of red and gold, and she's doing her best to keep the tinsel straight and stopping it from dipping too low over the doorways to each department. For the clumsy girl that she is, the whole scenario is a little precarious. But it's jolly and cheerful too, as Selphie sings loudly as she goes along, whistling and humming when she forgets the words to the Christmas songs she knows.

It doesn't take him long to spot the source of the shininess--which means Selphie's got a little elf boy...I mean, shorter-than-average teenage human with pointy ears looking up at her.
"What are you doing?"

"Oh! Hello! I'm decorating for Christmas ~ do you like it?"

"...wh-when is it? Do I have to do it?"
OH MAN WHAT'S HE-- well, he's almost done with that wood carving...

Falling back down to earth, or as close to the earth as a child from the sky can get, "Isn't it rude not to do things on holidays, though? That's why I was worried. I don't want to be rude."

"Oh, hello there! Do you want any help with that?"

Selphie smiles at the girl and nods, "It can be so weird coming from different times and places, I know. But if you have decorations you'll remember that it's December!"
no subject
"Oh, before I forget, my name is Atoli! It's nice to meet you!"
Okay, maybe that's not actually her name. While she was like this, though, it might as well be.

Selphie grinned and looked up to the ceiling. Then she smiled abck at the girl and, holding the tinsel in one hand, stuck out the other one, "I'm Selphie. Nice to meet you too!"
no subject
With that short conversation over with, she set out with purpose. Even if there wasn't a competition, she just wanted this building to be festive so everyone can be happy!
I'm sorry for the late reply @-@
"Don't hurt yourself. Want any help with that?"
That's okies!~ How are you?!
She looks down at Locke and smiles, waving a hand to signal that she's okay, but she promptly starts to move down the ladder.
I'm okay, getting to tags reallly late @-@
"You're a danger to yourself, you know that?" He says it jokingly, but he half meant it too...out of concern. "Do you want me to help you with that?"
That's okies! This is late too - sowwy!~
Safely on the floor, she looks back up at the decorated ceilings, "Whatcha think? Pretty, right?"
no subject
"Hey...let me know when you want to take it all down, I'll help you out then, okay?" It wasn't like he wasn't used to climbing things, and it would mean she would be safely on the ground...
"How've you been?"
no subject
She turns to them then, tilting her head and glancing at the ladder before replying, "Okay... I guess that could be a little useful. But it's not like I'm busy so only if you got the time!"
Selphie moves towards her apartment door, pushing it open and motioning for him to follow, "I've been okay. How are you?"
no subject
He followed her into her apartment and offering a small smile. "Just okay, huh? I've been...fine. Mostly. Thinking about something a little big and I don't really know if it's a good idea, but it wouldn't be for a little while anyway, so it's not that big of a deal."
He wasn't even sure he'd go through with it, but it had crossed his mind more than once.

And that was when she noticed that the smell coming from her kitchen was probably a little bit more burned that it was supposed to - she must have spent longer with those decorations than she thought. "Uh...keep talking! I'll still hear you!" And she rushed into the kitchen.
no subject
Which was really all he wanted to do: protect people. "Hey...d'you need any help?" He was no chef, but he didn't burn his kitchen anymore.
