Summary: Christmas shopping, basically. More like Mitsuru failing at Christmas shopping.

Christmas was never that popular or had the same sort of sentiments in Japan as the rest of the world. But without school here and the Group's projects to worry about, maybe she can relax. Maybe even treat Christmas the same way as others do.

After all, her friends and SEES deserve something. They've dealt with a lot and maybe a gift or two wouldn't be such a bad idea.

The problem is just a matter of what. A cookware set might be good for Shinjiro, and with Aki's obsession with protein powder, that would be simple enough. But it should also be something special, shouldn't it? And she doesn't exactly have the funds like she used to back home, so not everything was an option.

Why is this harder than it looks?

"Maybe..." Her smile is subtle, quiet, but still strong. Thoughts of her father came rushing into her mind. Is he's right that they can make better, stronger relationships here, then he's certainly one of the first.

Mitsuru's smile brightens a bit more at the topic of Miki. She's still unsure of her own opinion on the girl, but so far things were pretty positive. "I'm glad you were able to reunite with her. She certainly is an energetic girl."

He laughed lightly, though there was no small amount of affection behind it. Even without his saying so, it was clear that he thought the world of his younger sister. "It's still pretty surreal, seeing her... but we've got a lot of lost time to make up for."

"Mmm. And I don't doubt that you want to spend every minute with her." In a way, Mitsuru might be a tiny bit jealous of their relationship. Even if Miki was gone in their home, here it was clear that they were tight. Someone who he could share all his secrets with and never be judged, never feel scared of being ostracized by your own age group. It was a relationship she might never experience while being an only child.

"...I may... Need your help though in finding an appropriate gift for her."

"I can help with that. I'll be honest... I was having a little trouble thinking of something myself, for awihle," he admitted, rubbing at the back of his neck with one hand. "Even though she's my sister, ten years is a long time. We're still getting to know each other. But I think I know enough now that I can help."

"That is understandable. But I know you'll make the best of your time with her." She gives a reassuring smile, although she feels a bit awkward as well. Akihiko might be her brother, but in Miki's world, the two girls shared a dorm. Which is why she wouldn't mind getting her a meaningful gift.

"I'd appreciate the assistance, Akihiko."

"She's really into fitness," he offered, something that went without saying, really. She was a Sanada, and if there was one thing the pair of them had in common, it was their dedication to athletics. She was also a fan of Featherman, as he discovered during his great apartment search, but she seemed to be embarrassed about that. Not a great idea for a gift, in that case.

"And she actually does like makeup and stuff... she likes to wear barrettes in her hair to keep it back while she's training."

Mitsuru smiles fondly at that. Fitness. Why isn't she surprised? They really are brother and sister, and that must be a family trait. As for the Featherman, she wouldn't judge. It is a children's show, but if she enjoys it, why not?

"That may work. Yukari would be better at the makeup than I would, but hair accessories... I think I could handle that."
