It's a Gundam!
Who: Asem Asuno; open
Where: In the skies over Hinoto-Ri, ending in an open field in the Capricorn District
Summary: Asem searches for a place to land his Gundam. Gawkers welcome!
Warnings: Giant robots.
In the skies above Hinoto-Ri, an odd sort of machine flew. It seemed to have no destination in mind, just flying back and forth over the city, as if its pilot were looking for something but he didn't know where in the city it was.
However, after about half an hour, it began to slow down and descend. As it descended, though, it transformed; before, it looked something like a plane, but now, it was clearly a humanoid robot. Rear thrusters fired to slow its descent; it seemed to be descending toward the Capricorn District.
Within the cockpit, Asem carefully guided the Gundam down. Careful not to scorch anything, he set the mobile suit down on the plains as gently as he could manage. The Gundam would likely leave a pair of footprints, but no other damage was done.
Now that the Gundam was down, Asem switched the machine off, pulled the AGE Device out, and took his helmet off. The hatch opened, and Asem descended via cable to the ground. Once on the ground, Asem pressed a button on the AGE Device, and the cable retracted and the hatch closed.
[[OoC: For reference, Asem is wearing a white, form-fitting flight suit, with black wrists and chest piece. Also, this is the Gundam in the log. It's about nineteen meters tall.]]

What kind of plane was this? Obviously, he had to find out.

This definitely didn't really look like any plane he'd ever seen -- more like a space alien (or a spacecraft designed to transport said alien). He reached into his belt, removed a small green drink can, and popped it open.
It transformed into a small, grasshopper-like robot.
"Hello?" he said, speaking into the robot's microphone. Maybe the pilot of the craft could pick up his signal!
no subject
"Hello? Is this the pilot of the other machine?" Sure, it was too small to be a mobile suit, but maybe there was a small being inside it? It stood to reason, at least in Asem's mind.

Actually, he'd be kind of hard-pressed to describe exactly what OOO was made out of. Maybe he should have asked Ankh or President Kougami before, but it had never really come up.
"Where're you going?"
no subject
Unfortunately, he was too preoccupied with that to answer the question.

A part of her knew better at this point, of course; a robot was just as capable of saving life as anybody. But the old biases were still there, the memories of robots swarming the island, killing anybody they caught sight of with rabbit ears. She didn't care, really. She just had to do what her master commanded. But she'd had to fight her own fair share of the things, and the old prejudices remained even in light of the extraordinary accomplishments of THAT robot.
Size, of course, just made them more grating, especially when they're setting down in prime reagent territory. She can't hide her scowl as it sets down, her defenses on full standby. They really WILL let all sorts in here.

"...Er..."
Asem doesn't know what to say. That look on Misery's face makes him uncomfortable, but he has no idea what the story here is.

"If there was a better place, I would have set it down there, not here. Besides, I made sure it was out of the way."
no subject
She holds up a bag. "You must be new here. I certainly don't remember your face from before. Then again, I don't usually bother to remember faces." Although she's probably going to remember YOURS, robot boy.

He could expect a very angry girl strolling up towards the machine. With fists clenched tightly, she moved hastily towards the boy.
"Hey!" Just in case he thought he could get away and all. "You right there!"

"Yes. Your weird robot thing messed me up!"
no subject
"But how?"
no subject
Even though he had parked it in a clearing. Ah Rin.

So he'd seen Brainstorm, of course. And the guy had been awesome. But it was one thing to see a big robot sitting down chatting about COMPs and another to see a mech in action - a real life mech flying through the skies. And yeah, there was Stupor Sentai and their live action machines, but seeing it in the screen didn't even come close to seeing it right above your head.
All of this is good enough reason for Atsuro to stay stock still in shock even as the mech descends less than 30 feet away from him. So much for a survival instinct.

"...Wow."

"Hey. You need to be more careful, all right? I only saw you because a proximity sensor went off."
no subject
Atsuro suddenly points an accusatory finger and ignores Asem entirely. "How does that even exist?! You -- It's impossible, right?! There's no way a robot that size can be real...!"
