Cheating With Fate

When: During the tournament, any date'll do!
Summary: There is an upside to having the Goddess of Fate on your side. Time to cheat at gambling! Who wants to cash in as well - or bust his ass?
Warnings: Gambling and stuff.

Just outside of the Great Arena, Kazuya was standing before a great golden entity, Norn, with a brightly coloured pamphlet held up high above him, his scarlet eyes narrowed in intense thought. It was showing the current match happening that day, the fighters' profiles and stats written in exciting, flashy ways to draw the eye and stir excitement.

What was he doing? Well...

"Okay, so you're absolutely sure they'll win?"

"Our predictions always have a chance to occur, Our Lord," the topmost woman said, her voice echoing oddly as her lips didn't even move. How eerie. "Something may happen outside of our view..."

"Okay, so you're sure that they're most likely to win then?" Kazuya amended, lowering the pamphlet and looking quite pleased with himself. "These have higher odds against them too, so if I put in enough money, I could walk away from this a very rich man..."

Oh dear, it seemed like this one was cheating. If you overheard, you may wish to correct this amoral deed! Or ask to cash in on the same deal. Hey, Norn's the presider of Fate - her hunches have gotta be golden!

"The. Probability. Of. The. Answer. To. That. Being. Afirmative. Is."

"Kazuya-is-a-jerk%."

Atsuro sticks his tongue out briefly as he continues to look for his coin.

"Well...! I'm just saying - if you know what kinds of Personas they have, it's easier to guess, right?"

[belfire]

"Well, I suppose, but sometimes it depends on the person too," Kazuya said, frowning a little. "If both sides have a type advantage on each other, then it's whoever's the strongest physically and mentally who'll win, right? And that's not something you can easily gauge unless you know both teams really well..."

[otakuro]

"You're still not going to bet on me, are you?"

Atsuro sighs slightly and shakes his head in mock dismay. "Just because I'm allergic to exercise doesn't mean I'm weak, you know! Phys Amp'll be more than enough for whatever I need to do."

[belfire]

Kazuya coughed into his hand. "Uh, yeah, I noticed that," he muttered. "You became the Hulk during the lockdown I swear...I mean look at these biceps!"

He gripped Atsuro's arm, squeezing his upper arm pointedly. "I bet you could crack walnuts with these or something!"

[otakuro]

Atsuro mock-flexes for his friend. ...Not that he's liable to notice what with the lack of anything happening whatsoever.

"It's all the gaming. Worked up some real muscles in my wrists and fingers."

[belfire]

"Heh. A grip of steel and all that," Kazuya smirked, pulling away from his friend and tapping his fingers together.

"Well then, fawning over your Adonis Physique aside, I'm done here. Wanna get a burger or something?"

[otakuro]

"...Sure, yeah. I've got to get back soon to get ready for the match though."

Atsuro's smile is a bit tight, betraying some degree of nervousness.

[belfire]

Kazuya paused, tilting his head slightly. Oh, his friend was nervous huh...

"Well, all the more reason to get a burger," Kazuya said with a devious grin. "Food's good to have before a fight, y'know. Remember fighting when starving? Not good, is it? So totally lame."

[otakuro]

"True... Well. If I suddenly start using the Projectile Vomit attack in the middle of my fight, I'm blaming it on you." The funny thing was that it was a good strategy to get them to run off the stage in horror.

[belfire]

"I think that'd get you an automatic win, to be honest," Kazuya coughed. "I know that I wouldn't stick around if you puked on me."

[otakuro]

"I'll practice in the restaurant then. You know, to figure out the best strategy to pull it out."

Atsuro flashes his friend a teasing grin before beginning to walk away.

"Seriously, though, you'd better bet on me."
