Who: Yu Narukami and everyone that wants to visit him.
Where: Hospital, ICU
When: Starting the morning of the 8th; continuing through out the day.
Summary: Yu finally awakens in the hospital.
Warnings: So many feels and kisses and yeah. There will be one post for the IT to pounce on him, and another for everyone else.
The dream he had of Izanami had long faded off into nothingness, but he was still aware; he could feel the least little twitch of dust that fell on him, feeling like he was trapped in his own uncooperative body. He could hear the feet of nurses walking by him to check his condition, the smell of flowers they were leaving in his room pleasant and something that was appreciated, even though it was something they needed to do. Then there were the doctors, humming and hawing to themselves, and more than once did he hear them mutter about how he should have died.
That really helped his spirits.
They weren't the only words he could hear, though. The doctors, everyone; they were distant, like their voices were coming to him through a thick fog, but they still reached him. Still, being trapped like he was, it was hard to tell who was saying what when, and everything ended up mashing together in his head after awhile.
My fault... all my fault...
Don't sleep too long, okay?
Guy's a lot more responsible than I thought.
I'm sure your big bro is happy you're all right too.
I hope he's all right...
If... we're too sad right now, he'll be sad when he wakes up, too.
Sensei doesn't need to forgive you, because you didn't do anything wrong, Yuki-chan...
...He can hear you, child.
"...forgive me."
He's pretty sure he moved, but he wasn't sure... no, he could move, he was moving... something was in his throat, though; he choked, gagging around... whatever it was, he didn't know. What was going on...?
"Narukami-san?" a dim voice gurgled through the haze of his consciousness. "If you can hear me, please cough as hard as you can."
Was he really hearing this? It sounded like a nurse, but he wasn't sure if it was another dream or not. Still... coughing was a good thing; if he could make his body do that, maybe it would be okay? He tried, but his body was still weak, and the wheeze that came out was rather pitiful, and it did nothing but make the tight feeling in his throat worse. His head swam from the effort and he felt like he was going to throw up despite the thing in his throat. Still, somehow he managed a cough again, a little stronger that time, and the next stronger still, until the pressure in his throat suddenly disappeared as whatever it was was finally removed. His body did not like that though, and despite how much he wanted to open his eyes, he could feel himself drifting off...
...and then he could feel sunlight on his face.
Yu flinched, feeling warm and content and... so weak; that was something that he wasn't used to. He let out a faint noise of protest at that -- the leader wasn't supposed to feel weak like that... though, then again, he did kind of just block a massive blast of magic.
Wait, "just"? That probably wasn't accurate at the moment. He groaned again, shuddering as he forced himself to wake up...
Yu's eyes blinked open slowly, painfully. Every little movement hurt, ached, threatened to send him spiraling back into his prison cell body again, but he stubbornly refused to let that happen. He opened his eyes inch by painful inch until they were finally open, staring up at a sterile white ceiling. He stayed like that for a long moment, before carefully turning his head, seeing the flowers that had been left by the nurse... and some kind of gift basket from Mays? He wondered who left that...
He groaned softly, shifting slowly; his body was stiff and aching, demanding that he stop moving but demanding movement at the same time. Limbs cracked in both protest and relief, and he blew out a pained breath, somehow staying conscious.
It hurt... but he was awake.

For a long time, she worried that he wouldn't, but when she walked in...
"--I was wondering when a certain lazy bum would wake up." It was her natural response, to tease a friend even when death decided that nope, wasn't even going to bother opening the door. Still, she made her way over so it'd be easier for him to see her. "How are you feeling?"
She knows how much damage magic can do, okay. She's a mage.

"Okay," he croaked out. Talking still hurt from having the breathing tube down his throat, but he managed.

"You don't sound it. Here," she replied, almost motherly as she quietly lifted a hand up into the air as she whispered a healing spell just to take the edge of his pain in a non-pain medication way.

"...I've been talking all day," he explained, almost sounding a bit sheepish.

since she'd been doing this every day since she was able to move around moreso he could get out of bed sooner and begin working his way back to his usual routine. No doubt it would take a while, considering..."Mm... It probably takes a lot out of you, huh." Aqua couldn't say she was surprised, considering- "It took my little brother a few days to get used to using his vocal chords again after he was asleep for a while, too."

This sort of thing was never easy on family. He's pretty sure Nanako was freaking out just about as much as he was when she was in the hospital back home.

So, after the others left, Yu gets another visitor.
Going to step in quietly, and just... look glad to see him, for the most part. "Hello."
no subject
"You visited me before?"
sorry for the late!
He looked down to his hands, briefly, rubbing one of his thumbs' large nails with his other thumb. "There were so many people worried about you, and I...."
...Felt guilty for not being as helpful in either the situation or its aftermath as he knew perhaps nearly anyone else of his clan would've been. Wanted to know that someone else who didn't look to even be fully adult yet would get to live their life still. Thought he might rest a little easier knowing that at one more person would recover to rejoin their friends and family, while thoughts of his own clan were beginning to tug at him. Couldn't help but be concerned about even those humans who were strangers to him. His list went on, but none of his reasons seemed all that appropriate.
He shook his head, instead. "I suppose it's just a bit silly; we haven't met before."
That's okay~
"You were worried too?" he asked. "Thanks... I appreciate it."
Even if this person was a complete stranger, they were all essentially in the same position, right? Heck, if he hadn't ended up in the hospital, he probably would have ended up volunteering to help out.

"I think I already gathered your name from the others here... Yu, was it? So I suppose it would only be fair to say that mine is Avitus." He bowed a little, a subtle bob with a nod. "And... I'm... not from this world either."

He paused a moment, looking him over again.
"Sorry, but... what are you?"
He's trying not to sound rude, but he's really curious.

So, Minato slips in near the end of visiting hours, not intending to stay long. Hopefully Yu is awake. If not, he'll wake up to a new card on his bedside table, but if he is, Minato pulls his hand out of his pocket just long enough to give a wave. Quietly, he says, "Hey."
no subject
"Hey," he returned. "Glad to see you're okay."
no subject
... not that it's a land Minato tends to live in frequently, but well you know.

And it begins.
He'd expected a ton of visitors, but damn. Do you know how boring it is hanging around a hospital for that long? It was bad enough when he had to do it with Nanako and Dojima, but now with Yu? ...There was a joke in there somewhere.
"Oh, good, you're still awake." How lucky for Adachi though, huh? Well, sort of...
Yeeees
And then he heard that voice.
Yu's eyes flew open and his head snapped around, his shock making the wave of dizziness at the sudden movement easier to ignore.
"Adachi?!" he exclaimed, unable to keep his surprise from reaching his voice. Why him?!

"You don't look too happy to see me, partner." But he can disregard that for now as he claims the seat that so many people had sat on earlier in the day. "When Nanako-chan told me you were here in the hospital, I really wanted to visit too."
Luckily for Yu, he'd flipped the chair around and was leaning against the back part, resting his chin against his folded arms. "But, visiting you alone seemed like the best option." As he paused, he quickly looked over Yu. "Since, you know, everybody's been acting so weird around me."

The word rang loudly in his ears; it was what Yosuke always called him, and it was their little term of endearment for the two of them. To hear Adachi call him that was like pouring poison in his ears, and he felt his insides twist in disgust.
"Don't call me that," he replied, his voice calmer than he was on the inside. "We're not nearly that close; you should know that."
no subject
"Oh, I'd consider us pretty close considering the stuff you did for me." Another quick glance. Ah, Yu had a bandage wrapped around his head... "Although, I guess your memory is foggy, considering."
The detective reached out to touch it, the chair creaking under the shifting weight. If he weren't so close to the kid, would he be so casually moving to inspect his bandages? "It's no wonder." But his tone was low, not as teasing as before.
no subject
"Stuff I did for you?" he asked. "Last I recall, you weren't happy with Izanagi ripping your Persona in half."
