viditlibertas: (☆ But how...?)

Ex parte

Who: Al Saiduq (NPC version), generic NPC civilians, and you!
Where: Libra Ward, anywhere within it.
Summary: There still seems to be some civil unrest in Hinoto-Ri. You may want to help that floating albino guy deal with it...
Warnings: Possible discussions of the Anoli attack, NPCs being NPCs.

Saiduq was not one who...walked. He could do the motion like most other humanoid-beings, but it felt awkward and unnatural to one who was not beholden to gravity. If he wanted to go from point A to point B, he teleported, or flew. That was it. Even Hinoto-Ri hadn't given him a need to alter that pattern.

Apparently that had drawn the ire of a few people, however, given he'd been all but dragged in to an anti-Guests conversation. And yet, despite the nature of the conversation, he didn't seem aware that his hovering and curious, neutral speaking tone were just irritating the citizens even more. If anything, he just seemed to grow even more confused as the civilians grew more aggravated. Dare you get involved?

((If you tag in, we'll set up the overheard conversations. So, please wait for both the NPC and this account to tag before responding!))

"Do you really believe a petition would help?"

Finally, she spoke up, her voice carefully controlled as she watched him. A petition? Hah, they rarely work unless the mass have something to frighten the spineless government.

"A petition wouldn't help!" the ringleader agreed, although he paused when he realised he was agreeing with a 'visitor'. He forged onwards after a momentary break though. "They just insist and insist that you're here to help... when all they want is to have you visitors as their private police!"

Miyako doesn't have the same level as her brother's...emotional ties, for the lack of better phrasing, to Saiduq. But she still carry her own bitterness within her against him.

She watched him carefully, listening to the conversation and what the unhappy natives will have to say. She would refrained from using "heretic" for information gathering purposes, unless Saiduq angered her. And that's not a hard task at all if he misspoken.

"The government's too busy paying attention to their special Visitors and appealing to their every need to listen to anything we have to say! If you were all gone maybe we could actually get some things done around here!" A young teen pipes up from the back of the group, expression brash and bold with mob-inspired confidence.

"And they aren't protecting our needs! My sister got laid off from her job because they wanted some special Visitors to attract more customers! Now she has to sell her home and find a new one, but there's nowhere left with all the Visitors taking up space! We were here first, so what about us?!"

Of course Al-Saiduq wouldn't understand. But Miyako understand why the government and employers do. The government would need to do something about the Visitors, or else the citizens would speak out. They did and now the natives were speaking out for another reason.

As for the jobs, it's simple enough. If they see someone with more skills and talent, and it would with their business and work...why wouldn't they replace the less useful workers?

"Are you expecting the government to cover for all of your needs without working for it? Complain all you wish, it won't do anything unless you do something beyond yelling at a useless fool."
