[OPEN] Dog Wrestling
Who: Yamato and YOU
Where: Capricorn Ward - early evening
Format: Begins in prose, but I'll follow
Summary:Playing Training with Cerberus by fighting it with one's bare hands. Who's up for Demon Tangoing?
Warnings: Sharp claws and sharp teeth.
It had been a very long time since Yamato had last done this - probably not since he was in his earlier teens. Life had been too busy, his duties had taken precedence, and the Chief of JP's couldn't really risk being seen playing with his demonic familiar, after all. One had to maintain a certain image, even for the lower subordinates.
Now, however, he had no need to maintain image or even care about it. Yamato had reached rock bottom as far as his 'reputation' was concerned, and there was a bizarre sort of liberating feeling about it. He didn't have to care anymore, and after reuniting with his old time demonic familiar, Cerberus... well, if Yamato wanted to let off steam and relax by partaking in old plays, then he will!
Although, he made sure to do it in a somewhat deserted place - like the park in Hinoto-Ri. The sun was beginning to dip in the horizon, turning the sky into an indigo colour, and Yamato thought he was just out of sight from the main path. Hopefully anyway. His coat and phone was neatly set to the side, Cerberus - who nearly up to his shoulder in height - stretched and-
Well, they played. Playfighting was the best way to learn how to strengthen one's body through use of spiritual energy. The human body was weak, but it could be reinforced if one knew how to use their spiritual power in that way. Resist Physical - it was a natural ability of Yamato's by now. So there was no issue in wrestling his large, demonic familiar to the ground and initiating a round of playfighting. He trusted Cerberus not to use its claws or fangs too much.
Of course, if you're just walking through the park, as an average passerby, it would look like a man was in the middle of fighting for his life with a giant beast...

He was disappointed though - it wasn't as simple as asking, was it? He supposed he could ask Kaito directly, or even Shijima at a stretch, but he didn't want them cottoning on that he was thinking about this. He wanted to resolve it on his own without asking for their assistance.

... Ok, now that the possibility that this guy needs help has come to light, though, Eiji just can't get the nagging feeling to help out of his head. "Uh... don't you have anyone else to ask?"

A strange expression passed over Yamato's face at that, but it was brief, and he suddenly started chuckling. He did but, ah, he still didn't understand their viewpoint - and again, he didn't want them knowing until he had reached his answer first.
"It's complicated, I suppose you can say," he finally said, smiling to himself like he was harbouring some sort of private joke. "I will rephrase the question to something else though. What type of society did you live in before coming here?"
no subject
Well, that's a little easier to answer, at least. Eiji is still a little hesitant, but he doesn't mind sharing stories about where he's been.
"Um, well... when I left, I had been staying in Japan, in an area in Tokyo... Well, it's a lot like Hinoto-ri, actually. Things were normal there, though. No mysterious apocalypses or anything. W-Well, there were some monster attacks, but that's what my powers are for. Other than that, things are pretty uneventful, and the world wasn't destroyed, so we could go anywhere we wanted. That's what I used to do, actually! I traveled around the world." Eiji knows he's being rather vague, but he can't help it. "Society" is a pretty big concept by his own definition, changing slightly depending on the many kinds of societies and cultures he's encountered.
and then yamato went on a meritocracy rant gomen
"Hm... so it was similar to mine, then..."
A rotten world filled with rotten trash. Even more puzzling as to why the man would help such filth. Ahah, such harsh words, but, honestly, modern society had corroded into such a complacent and disgusting society. People were judged on their bloodlines, or how much wealth they amassed, or their gender or their race, shutting their doors to those who carry the proper potential! It was disgusting, forcing people into poverty or a life of mediocrity just because of something as ridiculous as being poor, or foreign, or some other petty reason here.
Modern society was beyond help.
But, of course, despite knowing better, Yamato still wished to better than society into something that would abolish such oppression. If everyone functioned on a merit-based society, everyone would be settled into their proper place, and able to reach higher and higher heights no matter who their family were, or how rich they were, or...
Ah, but that wasn't the right time to dwell on that.
"Were you satisfied with such a world?"
it ok!!!!
... Aaah, the question! He never ended up answering it. He shakes himself from his thoughts.
"Well... There were a lot of different things in my world, both good and bad. And... There's not a lot I can do to change that. I can do about..." He spreads out his arms, indicating his armspan. "This much. And if I can take care of everything within that, then... That's all I can do, right?"
A generic answer, borderline complacency. He knew he technically didn't answer the question, and hoped the young man would draw his own conclusions.

"I suppose... if you want to view it like that. It seems a very... lacklustre approach though. You're one person and you can't do much, so you settle for doing what is well within your power, instead of pushing past your limits?"
no subject
He tries to look surprised about what he just said (he is, but the feeling is rooted in self-awareness, not self-consciousness). "Ah... That is. Well, we're all human here, right? We all have very small perspectives. If we go past ourselves to try to change things for others too radically, too quickly... Isn't there a chance that things might get worse?"
