Summary: Junpei is no longer in Iwatodai. What do?

Damn it, that's the last time I pull an all-night gaming marathon.

[Junpei sighs and stretches, kicking his feet out and throwing his arms up before relaxing back onto his seat. Yes, an all-nighter playing games is not the wisest thing to do. But...things had happened. Good things, but also sad ones. Distraction was all he could do to take his mind off of it.]

Ah well, beats lying in bed doing nothing.

[He rubs at his eyes and yawns, his vision clearing. He wasn't on his bed. In fact, it appeared he was sitting in a station. He finds his ball cap sitting beside him, and immediately pulls it on.]

Wh-what? Where am I? Dude, this ain't the dorm... Heck, I'm pretty sure this isn't Iwatodai either. How did I end up here? Where is here?

[He stands up, taking a few steps around to see if he can get a feel for where he is. Was that dream real?]

Aww man, good thing I have my wallet. Should have just enough yen to hop a train back home...and maybe some breakfast too. This is too weird.

[Junpei also has his Evoker, oddly enough. Why would he need it anymore, though?

Time to get a move on.]

Desco's long, pointed ears are pretty much entirely for show, so she doesn't even react to your muttering. Instead, she nods enthusiastically at your question.

"Yes! From your hat to your clothing right down to your voice, everything you do screams 'sidekick'!"

Suddenly, something occurs to her, and her red eyes widen as she gasps.

"Could it be?! Are you...the Legendary Sidekick?! The mythical character class that exists solely to support the Hero?!"

With that, she drops into a curtsey.

"I am Desco, the Final Boss! It's a pleasure to meet the Legendary Sidekick!"

"...Wait, legendary sidekick?" Junpei attempts to argue with her until she introduces herself to him. It...seems she likes sidekicks?

"O-oh, it's a real pleasure to meet you too, Desco! I'm Junpei Iori, and I don't think I belong here in your world..."

"Oh, this isn't Desco's world either!"

She proudly puffs out her chest as she continues.

"Desco was asked to protect this town, so she is working on conquering it and ruling over the inhabitants with an iron claw, because nowhere is safer than under Desco's protection!"

"You had the dream too?" Junpei vaguely remembers it, but the little demoness helps him recall it. "This is really trippy. I definitely must've eaten those potato crisps right before I fell asleep...Having dreams in a dream."

Desco's eyes widen in delight once more.

"What a dull, sidekick-like response! It's like you're asking for the hero to explain things in an easy to understand manner for the benefit of the audience!"

A slight pause.

"Don't expect Desco to explain. She is the Final Boss, not a hero."

Junpei frowns. He supposes it could have been worse -- final bosses were powerful entities made to kill the hero -- but it's still a bit frustrating.

"You don't know either then..." Final bosses usually don't know about alternate realities...

Desco hmmphs indignantly and pouts at you.

"Of course Desco knows, she just refuses to do the exposition! Emizel is the one that does all that stuff!"

"O-okay." She's a final boss alright. It's unusual that she knows it, too, now that he thinks about it. Is this some kind of live-action production he's stumbled onto? Those eyes look too real for it to be a costume.

"Well, since my 'hero' isn't to be found, I'll have to figure it out myself."

Desco blinks. This takes a while and definitively proves that yes, those eyes are real.

"Desco won't do exposition, but she is willing to be a tour guide."

She smiles broadly and adopts her best 'innocent' expression, which is spoiled only by the naked avarice in her eyes.

"And all Desco wants in return is candy! Desco is so generous, isn't she?"

"Candy, huh? I think that's a good trade. Lead the way, Desco-sama!"

Desco giggles in glee at the suffix before summoning her tentacles and floating into the air.

"This is the Pisces district! There's not really much here except for the other apartment building."

A slight pause.

"Desco comes here a lot, though, because Uncle Otoha and Uncle Johnny live here!"

"That's one big apartment though. You have uncles here? Are they big powerful demon bosses too?"

"Desco just calls them her uncles because she loves them!"

She looks briefly thoughtful at that.

"Umm...Desco loves them less than Big Sis but about the same as Daddy!"
