[CLOSED] The Date (April 12th)

Who: Miyako Hotsuin ([personal profile] capitalbackup) and William ([personal profile] djvelvet).
Where: Cancer, arcade and possibly food and music store later?
Summary: After doing her research and making plans, Miyako takes William out on a date.
Warnings: Derp and awkward?

Her questions and research lead to this.

A week after her field research with her brother, Miyako went through her notes and answers. There’s quite a bit of it, but she easily cut them down to what were fitting and easy enough to do based on what she knew of William. And her own tolerances, of course.

Once she finalised her plans, it’s time to enact them on a day with good weather. The past week was a mix of either sunny or raining. Today’s Friday and the sunny spring weather was quite ideal for what she has in mind. Anything was better than rain, in any case.

In the morning, she made her way toward the Velvet Room and picked up William the DJ, after telling him she wanted to take him out. From there, she led him toward one of the arcades in the Cancer District. With the number of games inside, there might be something that appeals to him. They can spend few hours inside before going out to eat lunch, and then...possibly check the music shops?

That depends on how well their arcade experience will go.

Standing outside of the arcade, she looked at her companion for the day.

“Are you ready, William?”

Had Miyako expected him to be so quiet? William hadn't said a word (but then again, when did he) during their entire walk from the Velvet Room into the arcade. She might have noticed that once in a while, someone would give William a wave as he passed by.

When she asked his question, William gave her a nod, the helmet flashing a "YES" across the screen for a brief second. Actually, that giant helmet over his head was making it hard to judge his face and expression. But no worries! It's time on the Velvet Room Attendant's head was going to be short-lived. At least as soon as he presented to her with an exaggerated flourish, a card. On it she could read;

I have a question for you. What color is my hair?

Don't worry, he did that to everyone.

Not a test. More a form for amusement for him. As soon as she had picked a color both of his gloved hands were already over the helmet and--hey it just disappeared as he moved it up (cheater). And indeed, he had a golden blonde color, much like his sister.

With a grin (which was much easier to see now) he handed her a card.

A good guess. Now, shall we?

How he managed to write all of that without her seeing anything was anyone's guess.

"I LIKE YOU BETTER WITH BLACK HAIR, WILLIAM-SENPAI!" someone yelled from farther away.

Wonder all you like, William would never tell you exactly how he could do that with his ninja info cards.

William didn't seem to fret back at her choice of location. In fact he almost seemed positively happy as they walked in, him following behind her silently. As they passed by a girl who needed another hundred yen to play a game, he quickly extended two fingers and handed one to her.

When she spoke again, he nodded, smiling, and with the usual flourish, he extended his hand.

Very well, lead him, where you wish to go, he was all yours.

He was used to holding hands, really. At first it had been idle curiosity that an attendant would show a guest, but eventually it turned into children laughing as they dragged him around in the hospital.

And really, what attendant would be be, if he didn't follow a guest's request?

There was much to analyze from simple hand-holding. The pressure of the fingers, the way they held his own, how they controlled how their fingers intertwined, how often their hand moved...they could all be used to judge a person's personality.

And by now, he was pretty good at it.

When they arrived to their destination, he couldn't help but grin a little. Of course he knew this very cabinet. Musical combo games were his favorite. Look at him enough, and it might be easy to know that. Proof that she had done her research.

He was impressed. Very few had taken him to this location before on their first outing. He took out a card from his free hand, and presented it to her.

I insist that you go first.

When she was done, he clapped in approval at her, a small crowd having gathered behind them both to watch her and then see what William would do.

Surprisingly, the Velvet Room resident didn't have a platinum card either! But that was mostly because they were impossible to get in Hinoto-Ri. Instead he picked the World Tour and proceeded to do well for the difficulty level...but not perfectly. And while most would be happy with the A average score, he did frown at the end when the two B's stared back at him, even if this stage was incredibly hard and long.

She wasn't the only one who was competitive, it seemed.

The crowd looked pretty enthralled anyway. "He's so good" with "he's so cute" could be heard amidst the sounds of the arcade machines. And despite his frown, William did seem to be back to his good mood afterwards.

I suppose I shall take my grade...for now.

You can bet he would be coming back here for a few days so he could get nothing but a perfect mark.

Regardless, that was fun! Do you wish to do another round, or shall we switch games?
