[CLOSED] The Date (April 12th)
Who: Miyako Hotsuin (
capitalbackup) and William (
djvelvet).
Where: Cancer, arcade and possibly food and music store later?
Summary: After doing her research and making plans, Miyako takes William out on a date.
Warnings: Derp and awkward?
Her questions and research lead to this.
A week after her field research with her brother, Miyako went through her notes and answers. There’s quite a bit of it, but she easily cut them down to what were fitting and easy enough to do based on what she knew of William. And her own tolerances, of course.
Once she finalised her plans, it’s time to enact them on a day with good weather. The past week was a mix of either sunny or raining. Today’s Friday and the sunny spring weather was quite ideal for what she has in mind. Anything was better than rain, in any case.
In the morning, she made her way toward the Velvet Room and picked up William the DJ, after telling him she wanted to take him out. From there, she led him toward one of the arcades in the Cancer District. With the number of games inside, there might be something that appeals to him. They can spend few hours inside before going out to eat lunch, and then...possibly check the music shops?
That depends on how well their arcade experience will go.
Standing outside of the arcade, she looked at her companion for the day.
“Are you ready, William?”

And really, what attendant would be be, if he didn't follow a guest's request?
There was much to analyze from simple hand-holding. The pressure of the fingers, the way they held his own, how they controlled how their fingers intertwined, how often their hand moved...they could all be used to judge a person's personality.
And by now, he was pretty good at it.
When they arrived to their destination, he couldn't help but grin a little. Of course he knew this very cabinet. Musical combo games were his favorite. Look at him enough, and it might be easy to know that. Proof that she had done her research.
He was impressed. Very few had taken him to this location before on their first outing. He took out a card from his free hand, and presented it to her.
I insist that you go first.

She let go of his hand and looked back at him, noting his grin. Good, it seemed like he approved of it. Miyako wouldn't like it if she did all of that work, and dragging her brother along for it, for nothing.
Miyako read the card, blinking once before nodding.
"Sure."
Fortunately, she did a few practice runs on the game to familiarise herself with the game mechanics. Stepping onto the platform and inserting a coin, Miyako started tapping the screen and selecting her gameplay mode: Popular Mixing.
She doesn't have the ID card to access Platinum and she's not good enough for Technical, yet.
After picking her first song, Miyako started playing when the notes appear. The top screen show her progress as she hit the notes. Her mouth quirk a little, almost smiling. Sometimes, she would frowned when she miss a note and became more determined as a result.
If there's one thing she thrive upon, it's being challenged.
(There was another, but that would be too personal for her to admit.)

Surprisingly, the Velvet Room resident didn't have a platinum card either! But that was mostly because they were impossible to get in Hinoto-Ri. Instead he picked the World Tour and proceeded to do well for the difficulty level...but not perfectly. And while most would be happy with the A average score, he did frown at the end when the two B's stared back at him, even if this stage was incredibly hard and long.
She wasn't the only one who was competitive, it seemed.
The crowd looked pretty enthralled anyway. "He's so good" with "he's so cute" could be heard amidst the sounds of the arcade machines. And despite his frown, William did seem to be back to his good mood afterwards.
I suppose I shall take my grade...for now.
You can bet he would be coming back here for a few days so he could get nothing but a perfect mark.
Regardless, that was fun! Do you wish to do another round, or shall we switch games?
WOO
She ignored the crowd, watching his progress and score on the top screen. If he have any competitive streak, those B's will be a good motivator.
"Let's go and play other games, William."
Miyako have some other games in mind. Musical, competitive or both. After this, unless something came up, they can go and eat
yakinikulunch.
