▼ The Darkening Days

 

Who: Everyone. This is a general catch-all Taurus Event log. If you would like to do your own separate logs either due to pacing or easier loading, by all means, please do so!
Where: The Entire City
Summary: The last days of the Taurus event as things start to sour dramatically. During the 13th hour, Mutation Skills are unlocked for certain people (see the info post here) and now people have a chance against the swarming mechanized bulls. Unfortunately, for some, this means the paranoia hit a new low....if you want, you can get together and join each other's posts to try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: Strange Attitudes, NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
Note: Please mark your post with what date they are happening. We are allowing anywhere from the 23th to future-dating to the 26th itself. Go on and have fun!

▼ The nights grow weary and a pattern seems to be forming...(days until the 26th)

 

Most of the Taurus civilians had willingly put themselves in confinement. As their symptoms began to rise, at the very least, there was little chance for them to cause problems. It looked like, hopefully, that they could hold back a lot of the damage and deaths to the city.

How completely wrong they would end up being...

▼ The day of reckoning...(April 26th, before the 13th Hour)

 

In retrospect, they should have realized something was wrong. While the Scorpio civilians were screaming about doom much like it had been predicted, Aquarius and Leo were not.

More research was needed...but there was no time now.

Somehow, everyone that had gone to the holding facilities were being freed from their confinement areas. No one knew who or got in, or how they got out, but many guards were injured in the process-- or worse.

The city turned into an all too (unfortunately) familiar sight. The Taurus civilians were causing havoc in the city, joined by others that the city had not predicted. Observers and Researchers quickly realized that these were all the earth signs, and a signal was given out; but too little, too late.

The city needed to fight back, lest it lose even more of its members. The situation was dire, but they had the Visitors on their side.

...For better or for worse.

▼ The Hour at Hand...(April 26th, 13th Hour)

 

13th Hour.

By now, the city was in chaos. For those who had witnessed the Scorpio outbreak it was an unfortunate similarity they might want to forget, but for others, this horror was brand new.

Giant mechanical bulls patrolled the city and continued to swarm, the police force trying to contain them and help as many as they could.

As time went on, mechanical parts and rocks fell to the floor from the bulls. Once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated, standing on two legs. And that wouldn't even be the worst of it...

And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission: you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Taurus Ward...

{ Gone is the usually well-mannered, kind girl. In her place is a young woman sporting two horns and red eyes. She is also being tailed by a bright white unicorn.

Quite the sight, eh? Beware if you're not an Earth sign. Dagger won't go easy on you~. }

[Now that Naminé has escaped from Kairi's dungeon, she's out and about trying to figure out where in the world her other friends are. Failing that, she's going to head back to the Castle and wait for everything to calm down.

She pauses when she notices Garnet. Horns. Definitely affected. So it'd be best to just try and sneak past...]

{ Good luck with that. The moment Dagger spots Naminé, she pauses and scowls. Naminé isn't an Earth sign. She deserves to be punished...and yet... }

I h-hate this!

[She freezes. Caught! And yet Garnet seems to be fighting it. After hesitating for a moment, she slowly approaches.]

Are you okay...?

Earl Ciel Phantomhive | Kuroshitsuji [OU] | (26th)

[Ciel can be found wandering the streets (the mun isn't picky on the district), looking concerned. This is quite unusual for him considering he is usually - at the very least - far better at hiding his emotions. It seems the event has stripped away his stony facade, leaving behind (and exaggerating) the kindness inside.]

Are you alright? Can I help you with anything? [Somewhere deep inside the young Phantomhive knows this is so wrong. However, at the present time, he is willing and capable (judging by the Personas of Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive flanking him) to give aid.]

No I am not alright, Ciel! I'm sorry, I have to go!

[Lizzie bolts away, quickly followed by a herd of horned people. Being a Cancer isn't all that great right now!]

Lizzie, wait! [The concern is clear on Ciel's face as he puts himself between her and the herd of horned people.] Protect us! [He sends out his Personas before wrapping his arms protectively around Lizzie.] I'm here. It's okay.

Morning after the event - Minako and Junpei

[Junpei's head hurts, a combination of stress, congestion, and lack of sleep causing him discomfort as he wanders the city early in the morning, trying to find his way back to the dormitory. Everything wouldn't hit him until later; Q said they were all in trouble for what they did with the truck. Junpei clothes are damp to the touch and tattered from all the excitement.

He stopped at a fast food restaurant along the way, and is carrying a few breakfast sandwiches in a plastic bag looped around his wrist while his sword rests against his shoulder.

Wanting to stop and take a short break, he finds an unoccupied bench on the street that is mostly free of debris. He sits down and rests his weapon alongside of him, fishing through the bag to pull out one of the sandwiches, when he hears a strange noise nearby.]

[If he investigates the noise, he'll realize it's voices coming from just around the corner, in a small alley. A pair of Jack Frosts, one much smaller than the other, are standing over someone lying on the ground. The smaller one looks uncertainly at the bigger one.]

Is she dead, ho?

Nah, she's just asl-hee-p!

But hee-umans don't sleep on the ground, ho! I think she's dead!

Hee hee! Then I dare you to touch her, ho! You can't do it, ho!

[The small Frost puffs up.] I can so do it, ho! See-hee?? [And after a hesitant step forward... he quickly pokes the motionless person - who groans and twitches slightly The small Jack Frost skitters back a few feet, heeing and hoing in fright.]

Hee hee hee hee! You should see your face, ho!

Back home Jack Frost was just a toy from the crane game. He and Ryoji would try to win them after school from time to time. Now there were two very real Frosts standing over a familiar figure.

They may have meant no harm, or maybe they had, but that's Junpei's friend lying there, being on the other end and becoming the plaything for the demons to poke. He despairs at the fact that she might be dead until she sees her move.

He won't have it.

"HEY! You leave her alone!"

Busted, hee-ho! Run for it!

[But the smaller Frost had already screamed and run off as soon as Junpei arrived on the scene. The bigger Frost suddenly realizes this... and then scurries off after his companion.

All that's left is the redhead still lying on the pavement. There's no sign of blood, although her outfit is covered in a considerable amount of grime. She's breathing, but the commotion doesn't seem to have woken her.]

Junpei rushes to her side as the demons flee, a bit of a panic washing over him. She's alive, but she might be hurt.

"Aw man, Minako-chan? Hey, wakey wakey! You gotta get up..."

Please don't make him go through this all over again. The first time was sad enough...

It takes a long moment, but she finally stirs and mumbles without opening her eyes. "Five more minutes, Senpai..."

Wrong person, but at least she's talking?

He blushes promptly at that line. She must think Shinjiro-senpai is trying to wake her up. She'll be disappointed to see it's not him when she finally opens her eyes.

"Uh, Minako-chan, you don't want to be sleeping in the middle of Hinoto-Ri like this. We both need to get back to the dormitory..."

Maybe...he can carry her? He can't leave her like this. She's more important than his sword and--

"That's it!" He pulls out one of the sandwiches from the bag and holds it under her nose. They're still pretty warm. Maybe the scent will awaken her?

There's silence.

And then, with blinding speed, her hand shoots out and grabs the sandwich.

The food is partially unwrapped and to her mouth before she actually opens her eyes.

"...Huh? Junpei?" She blinks at him.

[hasleveledup]

"Gyah!" Well, that definitely worked! He grins awkwardly and scratches the back of his head. "Heheh, hey there! Rise and shine?"

[greatseal]

She tries to sit up, feeling somewhat stiff and awkward. Absently she takes a bite from the sandwich as she glances around the alley. Nothing really looks familiar.

"Wha'fs goifn ofn?" is her first attempt at communication around a second mouthful of food.

"I think everyone had one wild and crazy night..."

Well, so long as they're sitting there, he can fix his hunger predicament too. He sits down and decides to join her, unwrapping another sandwich. Minako would find there were a few more in there if one wasn't enough.

"You feeling okay?"

[greatseal]

"I... think so," she concludes after a moment spent looking for signs of injury. The only real problem is the dirt from lying on the ground all night, which she starts trying to brush away.

"I remember fighting those monsters, and then... I guess I passed out." Which understates the story quite a bit. They're pretty far from the dorm right now, so her 'fight' had taken her a long way.

"You were fighting monsters too? Haha, man, that was something! I--" His laughter ceases, and he swallows the bite of food in his mouth nervously. "Damn it."

He's not looking forward to what's to come.

That catches her attention away from the food and figuring out how she'd wound up sleeping in an alley. She looks at him expectantly. "Something what?"

"Something I'm gonna be in deep trouble for." He frowns. "But something came over me, and I couldn't control myself. Everyone was so encouraging." He and the rest of the bunch that had commandeered the fire truck would have to make their case in front of the government officials sometime, according to Q.

'Something came over me' is a feeling she can understand after last night. At the time, she hadn't even noticed. Going out and fighting to protect the city was the obvious reaction. But then it had all gone a little too far.

If she'd wound up collapsing on the side of the road... "What did you do?"

"Well, uh...we...kinda took a fire truck out into town...without permission..." He swallows nervously.
