Like Bulls in a China Shop: Taurus Log

▼ The Darkening Days

Who: Everyone. This is a general catch-all Taurus Event log. If you would like to do your own separate logs either due to pacing or easier loading, by all means, please do so!
Where: The Entire City
Summary: The last days of the Taurus event as things start to sour dramatically. During the 13th hour, Mutation Skills are unlocked for certain people (see the info post here) and now people have a chance against the swarming mechanized bulls. Unfortunately, for some, this means the paranoia hit a new low....if you want, you can get together and join each other's posts to try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: Strange Attitudes, NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
Note: Please mark your post with what date they are happening. We are allowing anywhere from the 23th to future-dating to the 26th itself. Go on and have fun!

▼ The nights grow weary and a pattern seems to be forming...(days until the 26th)

Most of the Taurus civilians had willingly put themselves in confinement. As their symptoms began to rise, at the very least, there was little chance for them to cause problems. It looked like, hopefully, that they could hold back a lot of the damage and deaths to the city.

How completely wrong they would end up being...

▼ The day of reckoning...(April 26th, before the 13th Hour)

In retrospect, they should have realized something was wrong. While the Scorpio civilians were screaming about doom much like it had been predicted, Aquarius and Leo were not.

More research was needed...but there was no time now.

Somehow, everyone that had gone to the holding facilities were being freed from their confinement areas. No one knew who or got in, or how they got out, but many guards were injured in the process-- or worse.

The city turned into an all too (unfortunately) familiar sight. The Taurus civilians were causing havoc in the city, joined by others that the city had not predicted. Observers and Researchers quickly realized that these were all the earth signs, and a signal was given out; but too little, too late.

The city needed to fight back, lest it lose even more of its members. The situation was dire, but they had the Visitors on their side.

...For better or for worse.

▼ The Hour at Hand...(April 26th, 13th Hour)

13th Hour.

By now, the city was in chaos. For those who had witnessed the Scorpio outbreak it was an unfortunate similarity they might want to forget, but for others, this horror was brand new.

Giant mechanical bulls patrolled the city and continued to swarm, the police force trying to contain them and help as many as they could.

As time went on, mechanical parts and rocks fell to the floor from the bulls. Once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated, standing on two legs. And that wouldn't even be the worst of it...

And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission: you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Taurus Ward...

[Out of the Fungeon and into the fire, apparently. Nano's been busted out along with the rest of Kairi's friend hoard, but she's far from safe. Apart from the usual demonic fare, rampaging earth sign characters, and the Taurus boss itself, there's also a thunderstorm raging outside. And if there's one thing that terrifies Nano like almost nothing else, it's lightning.]

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! S-somebody help...! Don't let it hit me!

[She isn't exactly sure what will happen if she's struck by lightning, but she's sure it's nothing good. After all, she's a robot. Don't sudden power surges screw up computer systems or something? Fry circuits and wipe memory and all that? The thought is too much to bear, and Nano can be found unsuccessfully trying to return home, stopping every time she hears thunder to scream and cower.]

Nano!

[As she cowers, a few shots from a handgun go off very close by, followed by the agonized hiss of a few monsters as they recoil.] Come on! [He hooks his hands under her arm, all but dragging her to her feet and pulling her along with him into an alleyway for cover against the taurus, the demons, and the newly added cow beasts roaming around.]

[Assuming she lets him, of course.]

[Nano shrieks again at the sound of the handgun, mistaking it for another thunderstrike. She allows herself to be grabbed and dragged, but only because the screaming and flailing she's doing is rather ineffectual since she isn't very physically strong. Unfortunately, though, she is in a complete panic at this point, and hasn't yet recognized Hinata as a friend as opposed to a threat.]

[He pulls her into the alley, pressing her back against the wall and leaving her there as he checks around the corners of the building for more monsters. Seemed like they weren't followed...]

[He crouches down to be at face-level with her, placing gentle hands on her shoulders.] Nano, are you hurt? [And then, in her wild flailing, she smacks him int he face. Oww...]

[Nano screams and flails the entire way into the alley, still in a blind panic over everything that's going on. She huddles down in the alleyway, covering her head with her hands and muttering to herself.]

No...! Not the lightning... the lightning...!

[As Hinata's hands come down on her shoulders, she yells again, whacking him right in the face in surprise. Fortunately, though, this seems to snap her out of it.]

Oh, Hinata-san! I'm sorry!

[He reaches up to rub at his jaw, part of which is red from the impact. Although the injury doesn't seem to be anything to worry about.]

That's alright, haha... [He pulls his hand away from his face, looking at it to make sure he isn't bleeding. Satisfied that the damage is minimal, he looks back to her.]

Lightning..? What about the monsters...

[Really, Nano. Where are your priorities?]

I-I've always been afraid of lightning... electric surges mess up computers and fry their circuits.

[And given that's what her brain is and all... yeah. Monsters she can beat up with her Persona, but she can't stop a bolt of lightning.]

[Tachikoma is out examining the new bull creatures running through the city. This might not be the safest idea, but curiosity can't be ignored!

Speaking of curiosity, what was that screaming? Looking around the corner, Tachikoma sees her friend Nano out in the open, crouched down and cowering. But nothing else around.]

Nano?! Are you okay! What's wrong? What's attacking?

L-l-lightning...

[Yup, still just covering her head and shaking like a leaf.]

Lightning is attacking you? Where?

[Tachikoma is looking around to try and figure out where the attack could be coming from. All that happens is another flash followed by the boom of thunder from the storm though.]

All around!

[Nano squeaks in fear as the next thunderclap sounds.]

What if it strikes me?

[One such flash of lightning will uncover within the darkness a horned figure, covered in yellowed tattered cloth. It's difficult to tell whether they are friend or foe if Nano isn't yet aware of how different Earth signs behave, but the glean of red in his eyes could give her a clue if she's perceptive enough to notice from a distance.]

[Given that his arrival is punctuated by a lightning flash, yeah, she's already terrified. Nano springs to her feet, letting out a loud scream and backing up against a building.]

N-no...! Go away!

[Were Nano not reacting so vocally, maybe the figure would have overlooked her. As it is, his head snaps over to Nano, fully aware of her presence by now. He begins walking over, the green light of his saber moving closer and closer, slowly illuminating his form against the patches of red light that appear through the clouds.

With the distance closing within mere yards, the saber becomes raised in the air, ready to bear down on poor Nano...

...when, with a great stroke of luck, the red ceases, both in the patches of sky and the red in his eyes, both returning to midnight blue, the horns dematerializing.]

... What...!!

[It takes him a few seconds to get his bearings again, but more immediately, he finds his own arm raised against another someone else. A young girl...?]

P-please don't hurt me! I'm sorry! I'm sorry!

[She's just sort of frozen in terror right now, her back flush with the building she's leaning against, hands grasping tightly at the red bricks.]

[There isn't much further immediate reaction from one who looks apparently surprised at what they were going to do, had the brainwashing remained a moment longer. The flick of a finger deactivates the saber, and he lowers both his head and hand as the light dies down.

What had he been doing there...? He couldn't remember the past few days well, holding a hand to the side of his helmet as he struggled to remember.

The Reploid would stay like that for a moment more, so this would be the perfect chance for Nano to escape, unless...]

[Just in case, Nano takes out her Persona, Pinocchio, before she takes off running in the opposite direction. This guy was moving pretty quickly, and she has no idea if he's going to chase her once she's moving. On top of that, she's a little clumsy under normal circumstances, and right now she's panicking pretty hard and even more prone to tripping over her feet.]

[There is no pursuit from the assailant, still standing there as the girl runs away as fast as she can.

The details begin to come back in tattered pieces: The emotions that he usually kept so well-hidden all but burst to the surface while he struggled to deal with his inadequacies... and then nothing, no sense of emotion at all, being turned into a cold-blooded killer with emotions suppressed even harder than before.

The acknowledgement of his unusual instability, as well as the realization of having almost killed someone, continue to unbalance his senses and remove his attention from his immediate surroundings, while another person had been following the cloaked being...]

[He doesn't want to use it, but his Persona would be the best bet here, letting him conserve his mana. He raises his staff, and the Twilight Guardian appears in front of him, spinning and casting an Eiha at the assailant.]
