Like Bulls in a China Shop: Taurus Log
▼ The Darkening Days
Who: Everyone. This is a general catch-all Taurus Event log. If you would like to do your own separate logs either due to pacing or easier loading, by all means, please do so!
Where: The Entire City
Summary: The last days of the Taurus event as things start to sour dramatically. During the 13th hour, Mutation Skills are unlocked for certain people (see the info post here) and now people have a chance against the swarming mechanized bulls. Unfortunately, for some, this means the paranoia hit a new low....if you want, you can get together and join each other's posts to try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: Strange Attitudes, NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
Note: Please mark your post with what date they are happening. We are allowing anywhere from the 23th to future-dating to the 26th itself. Go on and have fun!
▼ The nights grow weary and a pattern seems to be forming...(days until the 26th)
How completely wrong they would end up being...
▼ The day of reckoning...(April 26th, before the 13th Hour)
More research was needed...but there was no time now.
Somehow, everyone that had gone to the holding facilities were being freed from their confinement areas. No one knew who or got in, or how they got out, but many guards were injured in the process-- or worse.
The city turned into an all too (unfortunately) familiar sight. The Taurus civilians were causing havoc in the city, joined by others that the city had not predicted. Observers and Researchers quickly realized that these were all the earth signs, and a signal was given out; but too little, too late.
The city needed to fight back, lest it lose even more of its members. The situation was dire, but they had the Visitors on their side.
...For better or for worse.
▼ The Hour at Hand...(April 26th, 13th Hour)
By now, the city was in chaos. For those who had witnessed the Scorpio outbreak it was an unfortunate similarity they might want to forget, but for others, this horror was brand new.
Giant mechanical bulls patrolled the city and continued to swarm, the police force trying to contain them and help as many as they could.
As time went on, mechanical parts and rocks fell to the floor from the bulls. Once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated, standing on two legs. And that wouldn't even be the worst of it...
And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission: you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Taurus Ward...

Atsuro Kihara | 24th to 26th
[The video flickers on to display an Atsuro with a pale face and a twitchy, unsteady expression looking off to the side. His words, when they emerge, are half-mumbled, half-breathed as he gasps and pants for breath.]
G-Guys...
They were wrong. They were wrong, I knew it, I did, I said they were. I said they were wrong! See? I... I was right. I was right, and they were wrong, but no one... no one listens to me. ...It's not them. It's not. They're fine, let them go, 'cause... 'cause it's me. It's me...
Capricorn.
[A few rapid, gasping breaths before Atsuro finally turns to look straight into the video with a horribly forced smile.]
S-Sorry! I'm terrified. It's -- ...This is weird. It's weird. But kinda... cool. I'm staying here. I'll be here. Don't worry. Door's locked don't come in who knows what'll happen. Just... everyone stay safe. We've gotta be careful. Something's coming -- Something bad is coming.
...No. That -- That's not right. It -- I-It's...
It's here.
[For the next few days, the sound of muted video games will be heard from Atsuro's room, growing increasingly louder as time passes. It doesn't seem to even die down overnight... Visitors are welcome during the days leading up to the 26th, though they will be unlikely to get a response.]
[action, the 26th, 13th Hour]
[Visitors to Atsuro's room on the 13th Hour will find that the sound of gaming has suddenly ceased. His neighbors will be most thankful at the peace and quiet, though perhaps the ones who know him will be a little bit worried at the lack of activity. His door is open, and it appears as if a whirlwind has gone through his room, leaving it a total mess. For some reason, his red curtains have been conspicuously shredded...
For this one hour, there can be found roaming in the streets one (1) male citizen of average height, wearing what appears to be a gaudy, stylized bull mask and wielding a slim matador's sword. Draped across his back is what is assumedly meant to be a red cape, though the tattered appearance isn't doing it any favors. The rest of his costume resembles that of a matador's traditional dress, though naturally much shabbier. There is a strange cognitive dissonance when trying to parse the idea of a matador with a bull's head... And how strange. The horns of the mask almost appear to be real.
This person will be nigh unrecognizable, possibly save for the fact that in his other hand, he holds what appears to be a gaming system. ]
((Atsuro's fantasy wish fulfillment, love for games, and heroic save-'em-all nature have spiked until he has lost his mind entirely and now believes himself to be a hero out of a game protecting those unable to protect themselves - namely the Tauruses. He will attack anyone seeking to subdue a Taurus with his sword, his demons, and his Personae alike. Atsuro will be a silent 'hero' at first, seeking to exemplify his ideas of 'coolness'.))
24th
So soon after that video, Kazuya went to pay Atsuro a visit. He could hear the game music blasting from down the hall, let alone standing in front of the door, and with a frown of severe concentration, teleported past the closed door. He had learned to control his teleporting if it was for very short distances (like a foot or two). Nigh useless, but good for getting past doors.]
Atsuro? Buddy? You alive?
no subject
Oh no the affected signs are mutating into quilts it is a true disaster.]
no subject
Atsuuuuro~~
[Kazuya sang slightly, walking over to his quilt-friend. He crouched down beside him, and cautiously reached out to prod the lump]
Hey, hey, come to the land of the living.
no subject
Gaaaaaaaahhhh -- ! Oh.
[The quilt lump adjusts itself sullenly until Atsuro's head is poking out. He blinks blearily in the darkness.]
...I-I told you to leave me alone...
no subject
[That was a really startling reaction, and Kazuya's amused expression instantly dips into brief hurt]
That's kinda harsh... [The smile's quickly back though, an easy laugh leaving him] What, did I ruin your high score or summin?
[He glances at the telly briefly before back at Atsuro. He steps over to him again]
C'mon, you shouldn't be holed up like this. It's a nice day outside and I think you need your daily dose of Vitamin D!
no subject
[The outburst comes immediately. Atsuro takes a breath to steady himself before staggering back to his lumpy quilt throne without meeting Kazuya's eyes.]
It's my turn this time, Kazuya. Just gotta... wait it out.
...It's the first day and I can't even breathe. It kinda sucks.
no subject
[Kazuya suddenly felt a bit useless, and he scowled, tossing his head like an agitated horse]
Fuh! C'mon, sulking in your room's not going to help. Just, get up and use that endless hope and shit you have! Atsuro!
[he even stomped his foot a little, mostly because this was worrying Kazuya, and since there was no clear solution... he had gotten used to solving problems by beating something to a pulp, so having something intangible like this was... scary. Especially when it involved the sanity of his friend]
no subject
Just... let me do this, 'k?
The only reason I'm not screaming my head off right now is because it's you. ...I've gotta keep my mind on something else.
[The sounds of gaming resume.]
no subject
[Kazuya stood there and stared at his friend helplessly, his expression tight. This wasn't fair. He felt like a child for thinking it, but he didn't care. It totally wasn't fair. What was the point in being King of Bel if he couldn't use this power to protect his friend from something that messed with his mind?]
...Fine.
[Without warning Kazuya sat down beside Atsuro, knees up to his chest and glowering at the television]
I'll keep you company then. I won't say anything. Just. You know.
no subject
The quilt lump shifts to the side to make room for Kazuya.]

>Atsuro attempts to use COMMUNICATE
>But Atsuro is too FEARFUL to use that move!
The person on the other side of the screen will receive a wild stare and heavy breathing.]
...Capricorn.
[That is all he spits out before the feed shuts off.]
24th; [Video]
That's a hell of an understatement. It's-- They're going to--!
["The bulls are coming" is what he wants to say - to scream - but he swallows it down, instead choosing to keep his mouth shut for once.]
no subject
[Atsuro finishes his friend's sentence, if not exactly, then at least along the same lines.]
Tch...!
[For a few moments, he gasps and pants as if he can't quite believe what he just spat out of his mouth.]
...You too.....?
no subject
[He bites down on his lip, cutting himself off again. This is illogical, there isn't anything to be this concerned about - he can't even die, so what should he have to fear?]
...It's the bulls. They're coming.
[It slips out before he can quite stop it.]
no subject
The what?
[OK well obviously Hizumi was crazier than he was a generalized sense of impending apocalypse wasn't nearly as bad.]
Oh. Right. Taurus.

I can't stand this...! I want to... scream or hit something or something. It's too weird. It's too much. Something uncontrollable...
no subject
[He sounds genuinely furious - well, as much as one can when they're also trying to fight off terror.]
I don't want to-- I shouldn't be acting like this.
[It only feeds into his fear. Although he had yet to experience the more violent portion of the curse, this is almost exactly as he would assume it would be, and it's highly disturbing to him - to have lost control of his own thoughts and mannerisms, and to be unable to do anything about it.]
no subject
I don't think listening to each other freak out is helping us.
[Atsuro swallows.]
C'mon. Let's just... keep it together. Nothing'll happen if we stay inside and let the others take care of it.
no subject
[It comes out as a sort of despairing laugh. Like that's even possible at this point.]
I don't think there's much to- to keep together anymore.
[Let's be real here, he's pretty much lost it by now.]
no subject
[That doesn't make any sense but making sense wasn't on his list of priorities right now.]
We can use the fear for... for something else. We have to.
...
...
I'm going to play some games. Catch you when it's over.
[wait what was atsuro channeling his jitteriness into video games]
no subject
Yeah, see you.
[There's something behind his words - anger, maybe? While the frustration earlier was aimed in general at his situation, now it's focused on Atsuro.
'You're really no help at all.'
Of course, were he any saner he would realize that there wasn't exactly anything the other teen could do about it, particularly that he's fighting off his own fears, but them's the breaks.]
