I know always that I am an outsider
Who: Sam Erstwhile (
Where: Desco's apartment
Summary: Sam's gotten a fortune that's made him feel better about his family problems, so he goes to visit the only person closest to any sort of family he knows. Cuteness ensues.
Warnings: Two eldritch horrors being cute together?
If there was one thing that Sam Erstwhile didn't know how to deal with in his new life as, well, what he was, it was all the emotions that lingered from when he was human.
Because despite the fact that his body and mind had been changed for good, his emotions certainly hadn't. He doesn't understand it. Shouldn't they be changed, numbed, put back where they would never see the light of day? He didn't have time to deal with that now. The only person he cared about besides himself was gone for good, so why was he still feeling all this pain and uncertainty about people who reminded him of his dear sister? He should be cold and heartless. He should be killing that speck of humanity where it was, but like a weed, it resisted his attempts, practically mocking him.
It was why he had asked about his family at the festival. The fortune he had gotten seemed to be a good one, and although he didn't know what it meant, he felt somewhat calmer about things. Maybe it was going to be okay. Maybe...these feelings were something that he needed. If he couldn't get rid of them, maybe he just had to learn to live with them, and hope everything comes out for the best.
On that note, maybe he should check on one of the only people he felt a tiny smidgen of concern about.
So, before the 13th hour, he makes his way towards where she lived. He had asked around, so hopefully this really was the place. He reaches up hesitantly and knocks on the door, unsure voice ringing out:
"Hey...Desco? Are you home?"

They are at Uncle Otoha's apartment. Desco gave them the slip so she could check on her project! With that, she nods at a chair in one corner of the room.
It has seventeen human skulls glued haphazardly to it.

Desco, we need to rethink your hobbies. Seriously.
Sam stares at it- he's not at all frightened, just confused. It's like like he particularly cared if Desco had to kill people to get those. Instead, he's wondering why she would choose human skulls out of everything to decorate a chair.
"Where did you get those? That...looks like a very uncomfortable chair."

Those are the Anoli Desco killed at the Tournament! She is going to turn all of them into her Skull Throne! There is a crude sketch of a smiling Desco in one corner of the paper, sitting on a polka-dotted pyramid made of blocks that is evidently supposed to be her Skull Throne.

"And no one's complained about it? I mean, it's not a bad idea, but I bet a lot of people would be pretty upset."

Desco mentioned it once, but the NPCs she was talking to formed into a panicky mob. Also, nobody ever asked Desco to give up the heads, even when they knew she had them, so that is the same thing as permission!no subject
Sheesh, she must have scared them out of their wits to make them react like that.
"Now, um...you have to tell me. What happened to you? Why can't you talk?"
no subject
Looking past her teeth, the inside of her mouth is a mass of horrific burns, and from the gestures Desco is making to her throat they presumably extend further down.

He tsks slightly. "And how did you get those wounds? From that guy you mentioned before?"

Desco was trying to chew his arm off, but his blood was all boiling and stuff. And Desco had switched a Persona with a fire weakness, too.
