The night had started out so well, too. She had gone out to run late at night in the lesser-used paths park to clear her mind. As always, a group of facetious Frosts had assembled to follow her. One had even found a 10,000 yen note and given it to Shura!

However, as the 13th hour hit, things took a turn for the worse. The Frosts became more insistent, crowding Shura and declaring their love for her, making it hard for her to move without stepping on frosty feet. Having her slowed down so much also attracted other demons hoping to seduce her with words, music or presents, some more subtle than others, but all rather unsettling. It got even worse when her protests went unheard and some demons began to fight over her. Some girls might like this kind of things, but Shura wasn't one of those girls. Right now, she just wanted to go home without the hordes of hell following her.

With great difficulties, she extracted herself from the crowd and began running without looking back.

[ooc: Due to her fortunes, now not only do all demons run after her to declare their love, but ANYONE looking at her will NOT see her markings nor her horn, just a normal peach-skinned girl. Which means that yes, right now it's painfully obvious she went out in just pants and shoes (aka you can see her pink nipples). It might be harder to recognize her without all the black as well.]

[ Seeing a naked woman typically doesn't bother Lucy even a bit. Seeing a naked woman running? Well, it's out of the ordinary, but if she wants to run around without a shirt, she's not exactly one to say "hey, put on a shirt." But when there are demonic creatures chasing said woman?

She glances at Shura as she passes, but her head doesn't turn. Instead, only her eyes follow her for the split seconds, then they flick back to the demons ambling closer. They're threatening, they're in the way, and they have the unfortunate luck of running into a woman who's very displeased to learn she's been separated from everything she's familiar with and tossed into God only knows what.

One demon gets flung back into the others that follow behind it, another gets punched in the face with enough force to break whatever bones lie under the skin, and another gets beheaded before it vanishes. The confusion around the nearest demons lasts only until they realize they've lost sight of their prey and one of them is dead. Some disburse, but the others seem fit on following Shura's path until unseen arms fling them away. ]

What lunacy is this...?

[Well, look at that. An attractive mostly naked woman running through the park. This is even better than that fortune he drew the other day said it would be.]

Pinch me, I must be dreamin'.

[DeDeDe chuckles a bit, clearly amused and certainly willing to spend some time admiring this good-looking lady here. That is, until he sees the encroaching horde of demons following her, at which point his expression goes stony.]

Hey now!

[Moving to interpose himself between Shura and the Frosts, he plants his hammer in front of him, calling over his shoulder.]

These demons botherin' you, little lady?

[Technically, Latooni has sort of seen worse given some of her seniors' penchant for running around the ship half-naked back home.]

[She still tries to be polite and focused on Shura's apparent demon problem, though.]

Er, do you need any help? This doesn't really look normal even for you...

Were this a different part of the city, Gina would likely not be questioning Shura's toplessness. However, since this is a housing district, and the fact that this person is clearly running from something, something must be going on.

However, she can't resist at least trying to make light of things a little.

"Far be it from me to judge, but you're a long way from the red light district to be doing topless jogging," she says with a smirk.

"Boss???" Shura screeches to a halt, which only gives the demons the opportunity to crowd her again, screaming out their love for her. "They won't leave me alone!"

"Fool!" comes a voice from the crowd, apparently from a Cu Chulainn. "A mere mortal cannot understand our love and adoration for Lady Shura!"

The crowd noisily agreed.

"They won't leave me alone!!!" she shouts before a Frost trips her, making her fall flat on her face. Immediately, a Cerberus comes out of the crowd and sits on her to keep her still.

"Fuck you this ain't funny!!!" Shura shouts as she runs by, followed by a growing horde of demons of all shapes and sizes.

[Well, he recognizes the voice, and now that he's peering a little closer...]

Shura?

[It's a serious situation, but he really can't help but give a grin and a whistle.]

Can't say I blame 'em. Told ya you should be workin' that hot little body on the stage.

[But he does lumber up slowly, slinging his hammer over his shoulder again as he approaches.]

You want me to take care of 'em for ya? I know you're usually friends with these guys, but I think I can bend my nonviolence policy a little bit for out of control demons gettin' their pervy little hands all over my star bouncer.

"Look you can admire the goods later just HELP ME OUT!" Shura didn't want to hurt demons who were not actually hostile but this was getting out of hand quickly. She also didn't realize people didn't see her markings or her horn.

Ain't gotta tell me twice. Duck and cover!

[Slamming the head of his hammer down powerfully to herald the arrival of his Persona, Nero, DeDeDe commands it to unleash a powerful fire attack against the group of Jack Frosts most actively harrassing Shura. Naturally, the weaker ones go down immediately, leaving the stronger ones half contemplating whether to run away or try to fight for their lady love.]

Show's over, everybody. You want to ogle her, you better be payin' for the privilege.

While DeDeDe was busing crashing the demons' party, Shura took a brief moment to catch her breath, then cast Fog Breath on the crowd, obscuring everyone's senses so she'd be harder to pinpoint.

"Let's run!" Shura hoped she could make it to her apartment or a safe spot without meeting another demon.

[Running has - unfortunately and probably rather obviously - never been DeDeDe's strong point, but he does his best to keep up as he galumphs along behind her.]

[huff]

...live close by here?

"Yes!!" Fortunately, around the apartments, there are not many demons around. In fact, tonight, there are none: the Frosts who often wait for Shura were among the ones chasing her earlier and they didn't follow thanks to the Fog Breath and DeDeDe's fire attack.

Once they finally make it to the apartment complex, Shura decides to take the elevator, for once.

[The elevator is certainly a welcome sight. DeDeDe joins her, intent on at least seeing her to her apartment and maybe taking a bit of a rest before heading back out again.]

...The hell's goin' on with you tonight, anyway?

"I don't know!" she said, leaning against the wall. "I was just running as usual with my Frost friends and suddenly all the demons around me went completely nuts screaming they loved me and trying to give me stuff!"

Yuh-huh. And what's with the...

[He sort of vaguely gestures to her breasts, for once not completely sure how to phrase what he wants to say.]

Shura looked down, not understanding. She could see her markings when looking at herself. "What? I'm often shirtless. I've got my markings so it's not like I'm entirely naked..."

[He raises an eyebrow.]

...Not from where I'm standin'.

A beat.

Then Shura covered her breasts with both hands.

"What???"

Hey now, you got nothin' to be ashamed of there. But if you want to go get a shirt on, I'll understand.

"Do I ever now! How can you not see my markings?"

The elevator doors opened on the 9th floor and Shura rushed out, still covering herself, to get inside her apartment (after unlocking the door of course). Damn, that explained why the few people she came across tonight gave her such weird looks... shit. She wanted to hide under her bed now. But getting a shirt from her bedroom would have to do.

Hell if I know.

[He'll leave it at that for the moment, though. Big D follows her in, taking a seat on the couch while he waits for her to get dressed.]

Shura finally comes out of her room, dressed in her winter school uniform, her body hidden entirely saved for her hands and head. "Damn... I feel so naked still. I feel so stupid I didn't catch on sooner, too."

She then looked at DeDeDe. "Want something to drink?"

Heh... you're one hell of a girl, you know that? Guy like me gets an eyeful and you invite him in for drinks.

[D just grins, chuckling a little. It is just a joke, after all. He's really pretty fond of her, all things considered.]

Nice glass of ice water'd sure hit the spot right about now.

As Shura runs by, and Gina spots the reason for her running, well. She joins Shura - at least on the running front.

"Okay, point taken!"

"Thinking you can frighten me, huh...?" She brings her fingers up rub the bridge of her nose, and there's just a hint of a smile on her lips. Not a typical smile of amusement, though, but one with just a small taste of the deranged. "How cute."

"Then why aren't you trying to run past me? Come on, if you can do it."

Shura snorted, but went over to the small kitchen and poured DeDeDe a tall glass of cold water directly from a large pot in the fridge before pouring one for herself. She brought both glasses back to the equally small living room to hand DeDeDe his drink.

"Y'know, I'm amazed I haven't been expelled from here yet," she mused after sitting in a beanbag chair and drinking down half her glass without pause for breath.

Much obliged.

[He raises his glass to Shura before chugging his down as well.]

Gotta be some reason they're keepin' us all around. Visitors seem to get a pass on a lotta stuff.

"Yeah, and it's getting mighty suspicious. I mean, I tried to hand over the city to the demons. How am I not dead yet?"

Don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Is it suspicious? Hell yes it is. But you're alive, and that's a damn sight better than the alternative, believe you me.

The demons seem to hesitate for a moment, but it's only an illusion. A Pyro Jack suddenly explains "THAT WAY, HO!" and the crowd disorderly charges forward to crush the obstacle and find Shura.

"Having had a glimpse of the afterlife waiting for me, I damn well believe you," she said, before finishing her glass.

"Got any idea on how to get rid of hundreds of demons madly in love with you???" she asked, still running.

'Sides, then I'd have to find another new bouncer, and y'all are droppin' like flies lately as it is.

Shura let out a pained laugh. She knew all too well who beat up the other bouncers.

"I might have to take you up on the dancer thing though... I heard a rumour they're working on the fine they're gonna slap me with. A fine."

Izzat so?

[He actually raises an eyebrow at that, grinning just slightly.]

Well, you know me... I'd be pleased as a peach to have ya. Works out nice for both of us - you can bounce your own clients if they decide to get a little grabby.

[DeDeDe lets out a laugh.]

Hell, knowin' our clientele, half of 'em'd get off on bein' kicked in the face anyway. Might earn yourself some nice tips that way.

"Heh. Will have to rein in my own strength, or else we'll end up with decapitation."

She put her glass on the floor and looked at DeDeDe. "So I can just dance on the stage, right? I don't have to do any 'extras'?"

[The penguin waves a hand, shaking his head.]

That's between you and the customer. You wanna work somethin' out on the side, that's your own business.

[He leans back in his seat, setting his own glass to the side.]

Showin' a little skin here and there never hurts, though. And like I said, you ain't got nothin' to be ashamed of in that department.

[Because he can never resist pointing that out.]

'Sup to you, though. You'll prob'ly be back to your lovely tattooed self soon enough, I imagine. 'Least then you don't have to feel totally naked.

Shura nodded, reassured somewhat. It wasn't very glorious, but it wasn't prostitution at least.

"I think I'm gonna wait to have my markings back... or rather until people can see them, because when I look at myself I see all of them."

[Working for DeDeDe is seldom glorious. But he does take care of his own.]

Can't say I blame ya there. Give it a few days, I'm sure you'll be right as rain.

"I'm still pretty new here, so I'm kind of still trying to get used to the idea of demons as something more than a metaphor," Gina answers. "Though you might get some to lose interest if you actually put on a shirt, if that's why they're chasing you!"

"As for the rest, uh... I don't think I have enough ammunition to fight a whole horde."
