In the excitement of summer, it might have slipped some Visitor's minds to go out and patrol the city during the 13th Hour. On the other hand, some were infused with even more energy on those summer nights. It really all depended on the person and perhaps whether their previous encounters were Frosts and Prinnies or something nastier.

Speaking of which... what was out there to be fought tonight?

That's why I took out Krabby. After the Taurus incident, it became painfully apparent that I would need some Water elemental attacks.

[... Hold on a sec. He turns as Coyote picks up on something moving. A Moh Shuvuu approaches them, and Naoya rolls his eyes.]

Really?

[Just gonna send Coyte in to attack it with Arm Chopper unless Fumi attempts to kill steal.]

[Well, why not. She's not really going for the steal, but she does instruct Krabby to launch an Aques in the demon's direction.]

[Fortunately(?), the demon's pretty weak, and it falls easily from their combined attacks. It dissolves into... nothing. No loot.]

[Fumi shakes her head, smirking.]

Such a cheap date.

Me or him?

[He grins, and Coyote sits down, scanning for enemies.]

There's some stronger enemies the next block over.

[Fumi starts heading off in the direction Naoya indicated.]

[He'll just follow along, waiting until they approach. A large dragon stands at the end of the block, and Naoya rolls his eyes.]

[Coyote yips, and Naoya's eyes widen slightly. Hm. He's gained a new skill. He scans the enemy, and Naoya grins.]

It's weak to ice.

Always something I don't have. Well, let's try water and see how that goes.

[With a shrug, Fumi points at the dragon, instructing Krabby to hit it with an Aques spell. Fortunately, her guess paid off, and the dragon roars in pain as the bubble bursts in its face.]

Just as well, it seems.

[It roars, and casts Level 3 Flare - Naoya jerks backwards as if he's been slapped. He sends Coyote forward for an Arm Chopper.]

[Fumi manages to dodge the attack by virtue of being a lower level Persona user. Sending Krabby out again, she decides to go with what's working and cast another Aques spell. What she gets, however, is very different: her Soul Persona, Vapula, comes out instead, merging with Coyote in a brilliant flash of white light. And when it clears, there is the phantasmal form of a man seemingly composed entirely of wires and binary code floating in front of them.]

I am thou and thou art I. The AI, Neuromancer. Neuro from the nerves, the silver paths. Romancer. Necromancer. I call up the dead.

[Fumi simply grins.]

Well... this is certainly unexpected. Let's see what you can do, then.

[The Persona nods, turning toward the dragon and extending a hand. Wires shoot out toward the dragon, collapsing into electrical impulses and swirling code. When the effect fades, the great beast is left thrashing about in a frenzy, seemingly attempting to tear its own skin off in blind terror.]

(OOC: She used 'A Rival Has Appeared' to inflict Fear, Confusion, and Rage.)

[Naoya grins at the appearance of their new Persona, and thrusts a hand forward. The man in front of them mirrors the action, Almighty energy swirling around his hand before blasting into the beast. Naoya's shoulders untense slightly as the attack heals him a bit, and smirks. The dragon doesn't seem to be doing too well.]

[Fumi doesn't even have to launch a follow-up attack, as by this point the dragon is so maddened with confusion and terror that it finally manages to tear its own skin open with its claws. She simply watches with a confident smirk as the beast fades into nothingness much like the other shadows and demons they've defeated around the city.]

Well, that was certainly interesting.

... Indeed. I wonder why that happened.

[He'll have to look into it. Maybe he can ask someone in the Velvet Room.]

Considering the fact that what we just witnessed was another Persona, that we were both able to control it, and that Personas themselves are derived from the soul, my preliminary theory is that we've achieved some sort of spiritual harmonic resonance that awakened a new Persona, formed from and representative of our relationship to one another.

Even so, the 'official' explanation could be useful in figuring out exactly how this resonance happens.
