Who: Hinata, Otonashi, Noda, and YOU
Where: Virgo - Grocery store
Summary: Noda and Hinata are trying to fend for themselves for once and buy food to cook, but do either of them know how? Meanwhile, Otonashi is on the other side of the store, blissfully unaware that his friends have caught up with him for the first time since the Taurus incident.
Warnings: Excessive levels of idiocy and moronic behavior

Hinata could be found mulling over his options in the pre-paid card aisle. Which MMO did he want to buy credits for? Decisions, decisions... In one hand was a shopping basket containing beef jerky, protein shake mix, a variety of energy drinks, and a copious amount of chips and on-sale cookies.

Was he binging on snacks? Or did he eat like this all the time? From the looks of things, one could easily assume that he probably couldn't cook, if all the pre-packaged crap he had was any indication.

Noda on the other hand, was in the deli section of the supermarket, perusing the various meat products therein. A small sign sat on top of the deli counter, written in polite cursive: Be back in 10 minutes!

Noda, however, wanted to be helped now. Whatever poor soul happened upon him would find the purple-haired boy smashing his head into the glass display case in the hopes of breaking it to get access to the meaty treasures.

Otonashi looks a little worse for the wear, but happens to be out today for a case of canned coffee for those late-night sessions of reading (no, not that kind). He's harmless for the most part, but he looks exhausted and may not see you... before he bumps into you.

Literally.

He won't be around the store for long, and can also be found outside on a bench not far from the store... sleeping. Caffeine only gets a person so far, you know. If you wanted to be a real jerk, you could make off with some nice coffee, spices, or a messenger bag...

[Noda stays quiet as he listens to the kid talk. The kid did have a point... But that made it frustrating for him to sit and listen. He clicks his tongue in frustration.]

Hmph, like this is any of your business. I am willing to pay for this so I would not be stealing them anyways. They will just need to deal with property damage then.

Why don't you move on to another store if you're going to buy something?

Why not? We have the money to purchase the goods.

But you will also be proving that you are not the type of customer they would prefer to deal with, so it's more likely that they'll just make you pay for the damages and then ban you from ever coming again.

[Does he need to recite pi at you or something to convince you, geeze.]

[And Noda goes quiet for a moment. Wow this kid.... Noda doesn't like talking to this kid at all. He grumbles under his breath before...

He gets his halberd out and smashes another glass.]

[And then there is a redhead rounding the corner, met with purple and green heads of hair. He'll just... slowly back up and try to take this in. Noda: not fit to be in society.]

... Ah.

[bondsofsuffering]

[Hizumi just sighs and puts a hand to his head. Ugh, better just put away all the stuff he'd gotten up until now and find another grocery to go to so he doesn't have to lug it all around...]

Now look what you've done...!

[Ugh, another nagging person at the scene. He rests his halberd on his shoulder, proud of his work of all the glass shattered.]

Hmph.

Why do you look pleased with yourself..?! [He's muttering, so it's possible nobody will hear him, but it's no secret who he's referring to. He waves them both off and crouches down over the broken glass, picking the pieces up.

Because why make those poor, minimum-wage-paid workers deal with an idiot like Noda?!]

[Meanwhile Hizumi holds his hands up, backing away.]

I think I'll let you deal with this.

[By which he means replacing all the crap he's already picked up and also informing the next poor staff member he meets.]

You're leaving after provoking me to shatter the glass?

Provoking you..?! Jerk, everything "provokes" you! [If he was a lesser person, he would throw this glass at your face, Noda. Alas... he's just neatly trying to keep the glass bits cupped in his hand.]

[Oh, okay. I guess we are playing this game.]

You were already doing a great job of it before I ever came, which probably matches up with any surveillance video they've got. And besides that...

I'm going to be the one who reports you, so obviously I'm just an innocent bystander.

[Noda takes a moment to think over about this. Ignoring the redhead yelling his head off as usual, this green-haired kid...

...has a point. Noda takes a step back, making an inaudible noise in his throat, unable to retaliate. It's like getting Pi slammed into his face again!

Just then, a middle-aged man comes walking up, clearly looking furious.]

[He stumbles when the man catches up with Noda, nicking his hand with a bit of glass. It's not a huge concern to him, but how this plays out for Noda is a concern, even if he could rightfully let Noda get locked up for this.

Would anyone blame Otonashi if he did?]

Ah... Noda's kind of an impulsive idiot, so... [Okay, this isn't helping much. Hm.]

[His eyes shift briefly to the man, but he quickly goes back to staring pointedly at Noda.]

Geeze, I told you to wait, but you just had to go and pull a dangerous stunt like that... You're lucky you know someone around here who was willing to try to help you out of this mess.

[And then he turns to the actual staff member, looking somewhat apologetic.]

--Sorry, sorry, I probably should have tried harder to convince him, but I didn't think he'd pull out a weapon. As I thought, he was suspicious from the start, but who would have thought he would seriously go so far...?
