i took a thousand steps away from you
Who: Sam Erstwhile and Desco
Where: Wherever Desco's house is.
Summary: It's Sam's first day back in Hinoto-Ri, and he decides to visit someone he actually tolerates, or two eldritch horrors meet each other again and are horrordorable.
Warnings: None at the moment, though Desco is pretty much her own warning.
The first day back, and he's already visiting a young girl who he technically shouldn't be caring for. Friendships don' mean anything to him. Being nice won't do anything for him. Save his life and he'll still let you die if you get in trouble. That's that.
And yet, he's here, as if she is his friend...but to be honest, she was the closest person - well, creature- he knew. He didn't know if it was his latent brotherly feelings he still had hanging on to his speck of humanity, or the fact that his inhuman side desired to be around something like itself. Whatever it was, it was persuasive enough to make him come and see this girl the first day he got back, instead of retreating to his room and staying there instead.
The house is nice. He knocks on the door once, after checking that nobody is around. She had almost revealed his secret today, and he should be mad, he should...but for some reason, he couldn't be.
How odd.

"Tah-dah!"
In the center of the room is a wooden chair, the kind you'd see just about anywhere. Seventeen human skulls are haphazardly glued to it, and a pair of dragon skulls are glued to the armrests.
"Desco got all the raw materials herself!"
no subject
Honestly, he was thinking bigger, with the actual chair made out of bones, but...well, you had to at least give her props for trying.
"Erm. Not bad." He wanders over to touch the chair, hand going over the skulls without even a trace of disgust on his face, like he's just at a furniture store looking at their wares.
"Where did you get the dragon skulls?"
no subject
My, such precocious language skills.
no subject
But eh, that wasn't surprising to hear. He pats one of the skulls, before turning back to her.
"What are this Johnny and Otoha like? The ones you live with."
no subject
A slight pause to think.
"Um, Uncle Otoha is a zombie, and Uncle Johnny is a vampire! They can be kind of silly sometimes, but they're really nice to Desco!"
Slight pause.
"Uncle Otoha actually threatens people on Desco's behalf!"
There's a gigglefit of sheer happiness at this.

Or a good bar joke, anyways. He stares at her after that second part, though.
"Does he? What, do people try to hurt you? Why does he need to threaten them?"
no subject
"He's overprotective! Even though Desco could reduce the entire city to smoking cinders on her own!"
no subject
He lets out a huff, before glancing around at his surroundings...before he remembers something she mentioned.
"Um. Right. You said you had food, didn't you?"
