Summary: The Government has finally finished its antivirus protocols, and is providing the populace with a way to fight back

After nearly a full week of corrupted files, bricked laptops, improperly filtered network posts, robots going haywire, and general computerized chaos, the Government of Hinoto-Ri has finally stepped in with an announcement of its own. On July 15th, Kandori sends out a short citywide announcement, accompanied by a heavily encrypted file sent directly to everyone's COMPs, which will begin auto-installing as soon as it is received. The announcement is short and concise, informing the Visitors that the Hinoto-Ri Government has developed a new app allowing Visitors to access the network in virtual space by directly connecting their consciousness through an uplink established by the nanomachines. This will allow the Visitors to confront the viruses, which have been determined to composed of programming code tainted by demonic essence, as easily as they would any other demons wandering about during the 13th Hour. Caution is highly recommended, however, as any damage taken in the virtual world will hurt in the real world as well - additionally, remaining connected for too long will result in extreme mental and physical fatigue. There will also be instructions to speak with either Atsuro or Ruri to receive antivirus protocols enabling the viruses to be defeated permanently.
Once connected, characters will find themselves in a vast virtual landscape like something out of the movie TRON, with programs and electrical connections whizzing past in every direction. And in the midst of it all, littered across the landscape, are countless copies of the demonic computer viruses that have been plaguing the network and causing havoc for the past five days. Visitors will find themselves able to use any weapons or powers they have in the real world, but will have the easiest time accessing their Personas, as they already exist as part of the user's subconscious and are floating even closer to the surface of the Visitors' thoughts in a realm based on pure information and thought. The Government has requested as many Visitors as possible to enter the digital world to assist with the problem, and while their own servers are locked down as they deal with that infestation themselves, the Visitors are expected to clean up their own network with extreme prejudice. Most of the viruses are the lower level floating smiley faces, with the three bosses lurking at the center of it all, only accessible once the small fry have been eliminated. Taking out the boss viruses will result in the simultaneous elimination of all lesser viruses spawned from them, but the boss viruses will only be accessible on the 16th, the last day of the event.

The mods will not be running the fights, so players are encouraged to handle the battle threads however they see fit. This is also a chance for everyone to use their Personas, as battles fought in the digital realm still count toward unlocking new skills. And those waiting to awaken their Persona for the first time may find it easier to do here! Basically, it's just a free-for-all combat log like the monthly 13th Hour logs, so have fun with it! ^_^))

[Hmm, he'd been hoping to fight this thing on his own. He'd tell her to run, but it's too late. The virus is already attacking. So he has to kill it before Nano gets hurt. His arm transforms into a claw and he summons Bagheera ]

[Nano, on the other hand, doesn't like to see any of her friends fighting alone. She summons R.O.B. to use Sabotage+ on the virus, the robot's eyes flashing as a red light envelops and washes over it.]

[As Senri and Nano gear up to fight, the virus flashes text for a few moments before displaying the image of a generic looking teenaged girl blowing a kiss at the camera and winking. Coincidentally, this coincides with the first spell cast - Sabotage+ washes over the virus and the girl visibly recoils.]

[The screen suddenly flashes a psychedelic assortment of colors - and the digital world around them changes to match in kind. They stand now on a disorienting, dizzying array of colorful panels that lends itself easily to vertigo as the Virus outputs an electronic giggle. As the world flashes around them, Nano and Senri may fail to notice that some of the panels are hurtling in their direction... No, not panels. Giant spikes of ice.]

But first things first. He moves quickly to place himself in front of Nano. The ice hurts, but better him than her. Bagheera roars, and the virus is buffeted with violent winds.]

[Nano hadn't been ready for Senri to shove her out of the way, and has to take a few moments to steady herself. Once she's regained her balance, she steps back up to stand next to him.]

The virus is hard to get a good grasp on, being a ... living 'window' on a computer screen, apparently, but it certainly seems susceptible enough to attack. As it is buffeted by the wind and the robotic arm, the screen flashes a red ERROR message for a few moments before the incomprehensible existence displays row after row of exclamation points...
As they watch, the panels all around them flip open to reveal a mass of... more exclamation points that surge around them and leap straight at their faces. Whatever this attack was, it was definitely confusing.
Which was probably the point.

[As a graphical representation of a computer virus, the Love Letter was already the embodiment of disease in this place. The bite strikes true, though, and the virus recoils, again flashing the image of the girl, this time bleeding profusely from several spots.]

[The breakdown is probably, generally speaking, a good sign. Nano's attacks go flying into the ether (although they do strike a group of Virus Type Cs in the distance, no doubt saving some other combatant a great deal of trouble), and the Love Letter twirls around before the ice panels are once more launched at Senri and Nano.]

The ice hits, and it does hurt. He's pretty badly injured and if Nano can't fight then they're both in real trouble. Suddenly, a flash of light flares up between them, and time seems to slow down.

[She only has a moment to glance over at the new Persona floating there between them. Thankfully, Nano's an old hand at this Dual Persona thing by this point, so it doesn't take her long to figure out what must have happened and what to do next. With a small giggle, Nano calls out.]
Help us, you silly old bear!
[Nano's spent at least a year of her life raising an eight year old girl, after all. She's definitely read these books before. The Persona, for its own part, steps bravely forward to unleash a mighty earthquake upon the virus: Mamagnadyne.]

When the Mamagnadyne has cleared out, it is obvious the virus is on its last legs. The screen flickers wildly, vacillating between the picture of the girl and a horrified screaming face, exclamation points flash everywhere, and the panels around them have begun to dim.]

[And with its last effort, the screen shifts into the depiction of the screaming face........ Nano and Senri, should they look upon it, may find themselves unable to tear their gazes away.]
