A year might seem so little at first, but for a city like Hinoto-Ri, progress had been steady. And how would it have been without you? Hard to say. Regardless, there were some appreciative people of your hard work, and thus you were warned ahead of time of a little celebration that would be held in your honor, this Friday (FRIDAY! FRIDAY!)

Nothing too outrageous, you had been promised. After all, budgets had to be made and citizens had to be saved. Something more akin to a fun party with friends and the city. An open note sent out to all citizens if they so wanted to join in.

There was quite a turnout! The lure of fun and food drew people from all the wards and words of encouragement and thanks were given to you freely. Maybe because some of them had drank too much sake.

The booths are bustling with activity. There's food for everyone as merchants try to outdo each other with both traditional food and more exotic ones; Corn on the cob, Pumpkins, Yaki Imo (Oven-Roasted Sweet Potatoes), Ramen stands, Falafel, caramelized apples, octopus sausages on sticks...

There are also signup sheets for competitions tonight. While townspeople can join, the big draw is to see the Visitors attempt the typical school festivals, such as the swimsuit competition and the dress competition (for both male and women!).

...yeah maybe they just have a good sense of humor. Which is good! A happy city means, at least, for a little while, people can forget what's happening and maybe the place is going to flourish more with hope.

So hopefully you can show them that by enjoying yourselves!

[She can't help but watch curiously as the arm changes back. In the past, it may have startled her, but between the demons at home and the strange people she's met here, she's almost used to it.]

Umm... It's not really related to before, but... How do you do that?

[He looks surprised for a second. People.... actually don't usually ask. Then he pulls up his sleeve to show her what looks like a black tattoo running up the length of his right arm.]

Plus anima....

[That is a completely adequate explanation, right?]

[She tilts her head curiously to the side.]

Is that... what you call that mark?

[He considers the question for a moment. Having a mark like that means you are a plus anima, so that's probably close enough. He nods. Then helpfully points to himself.]

Bear....

[Well, that part at least seems obvious.]

So by having that mark, you can have the power of a bear?

[bear_necessities]

[His brow furrows. He's clearly thinking very hard about how to explain this. After a moment, he shakes his head.]

It's the other way...

[She has it backwards. The mark is a sign of being a +anima. You don't become one by marking yourself like this.

He's bad at explaining things.]

[Figuring out exactly what Senri means is a little like a puzzle in of itself, huh? Hmmm...

If having the mark doesn't allow you to have the power of the bear, does he mean that...]

...You have the power, so that's why there's a mark?

[He smiles brightly and nods. She's got it.]

I see. I've seen something a little similar to that, too.

[He tilts his head at her curiously. He wonders what could be similar.]

It's not exactly the same, but...

[She closes her eyes to concentrate, and there is a distinct blue glow around those posters in her hands as they lift into the air and hover slightly.

There's also some very distinct red marks growing on her skin, but this being Hinoto-Ri, no one really spares it much of a glance, particularly when it all vanishes again and the papers fall into her arms once more.]

[He's impressed. He looks more closely at the papers even after they're stopped floating. There's no +anima that could do something like that.]

Our powers probably have different roots, but it's interesting that they would have similarities like that, don't you think?

[Nodnod. It's nice too, knowing that they have something in common. Even if it's only in a very small way. He smiles.]
