[She's not sure what she's doing her, but she also isn't one to question her instincts. Something is about to happen in this place, Agatha is sure of that.

She's really glad she got that new death ray finished. She's holding that at the ready, and glancing around suspiciously for any sign of movement.]

Hello? Is anyone there?

Volcarona Girl (messenger of the sun!) pulls her bicycle to a stop as she enters the arena, her six-winged moth fluttering to a stop behind her.

"I can feel it in my mask, Solar Logos...something's about to happen."

Ruri looks around and sighs.

"I'm here, I'm not sure I like what's going on though."

Volcarona Girl (Messenger of the SUN!) quickly folds up her bicycle and shoves it in her bag.

"Have no fear! I, Volcarona Girl - Messenger of the Sun! - will make SURE that no harm befalls anyone on my watch!"

Zelgius arrives a little late, heeding the call of the mysterious feeling. It had been a while since he had been in an arena, that was for sure. He kind of missed it, actually.

He spots the three others in the arena and grips his sword just a bit more tightly. "Who are you three?"

"I'm Ruri Hoshino of the Nadesico. I'm not sure why but I had the feeling I should be here."

She shrugs a bit and looks around.

"Volcarona Girl! Messenger of the SUN!"

Behind her, Solar Logos flaps his six wings and lets out a buggy rumble.

Agatha Heterodyne.

[She has relaxed somewhat after seeing that none of these people seemed all that threatening.]

I had sort of a.... premonition, I guess. Just a weird feeling that something is about to happen here.

BATTLE START! | SPELL (Passive), SPELL (Passive) SPELL (Passive)

As the creature stands before them, it throws its cloak into the air, standing at over twenty feet tall.

The lights in the stadium suddenly snap open, lighting up the night. It appears to be trying to "raise the roof" at the missing audience around them. The arena raises up much like during the tournaments, taking all of them into the air.

Suddenly you hear them.

Thousand of voices around. Is it a recording? There's still no one, so why can you hear the crowd? The sets above now hum to life, and the televisions around the city are directly connected to the battle.

Looks like the entire city is now watching.

Putting one hand to its left ear, the creature walks around before raising its top left hand into the air, roaring before a series of lights and spells envelope it. Both groups are hands are into a punching formation, before one of them does the come-hither sign.

Looks like its ready for a fight.

Solar Logos - Attack | Fiery Dance (Fire, Single) | Kotoha - Team Setup

"Arriving on the fiery wings of the sun! Volcarona Girl is here!"

Using Solar Logos as a springboard, Volcarona Girl somersaults into the arena proper, landing with a dramatic flourish of her cape, tossing five small balls into the air.

"Volcarona Girl - HYPER MODE!"

As Solar Logos discharges a swirling vortex of flame at the Virgo demon, the five balls discharge the rest of Volcarona Girl's team - stoic Tomoe, energetic Scorpina, mischievous Zoroark, stalwart Arthur, and mysterious Tesla. Volcarona Girl flourishes her cape once more, leveling an accusatory finger at the demon.

"The light of the sun shall burn away the darkness of your deeds!"

Ruri Hoshino - Analyze

"Baka..."

She sighs as Yurika appears behind her.

"Let's see what this thing is weak against, shall we?"

Agatha Heterodyne- Attack

Let's try this!

[Agatha aims the death ray and fires, a loud whirring sound and a bright light emitting from the gun. Zzzap! A beam of light arcs out at the monster.]

Zelgius - Attack, Physical

Finally, the enemy and the reason they had been called here had arrived. Zelgius had no prior experience defeating giant enemies like this, but surely it couldn't be much different than any other fight? He lunged towards the beast, his sword ready to slash. He swung a mighty swing at the monster, hoping to connect and deal some damage.

The monster reels back from the attacks and laughs. It appears to be unharmed, although one of the barriers keeping ti safe from the physical attacks is broken. Undaunted, it first...

Struts its stuff?

Doing a series of bodybuilder poses, it finishes by kissing one of his muscles, as a series of small hearts fly out toward Kotoha's Pokemon...

The Pokemon under the spell move towards the creature and form a physical Pokemon barrier around him, smitten! Since he has no idea how to use their attacks however, it just seems more like body shields than anything else.

It raises its right hand again before charging at Zelgius, hitting him with a lot of physical power. Thankfully his strong physical resistance saves him from being knocked down.

However the same cannot be said for Agatha, who also gets the same treatment. This time she is violently knocked down to the ground by a punch.

The crowd goes wild!

Solar Logos - Quiver Dance | Kotoha - Persona Change, Friendship Express

Volcarona Girl's eyebrow twitches behind her mask as she mutters something under her breath.

"I really need to work on that..."

Okay, right - the entire team trained for this after what happened last time. Rather than press the attack, Solar Logos starts flying in a holding pattern, using Quiver Dance. Volcarona Girl decides to forgo her offense-oriented Persona and summons something else.

"The only rails are the bonds of friendship! FRIENDSHIP EXPRESS!"

The sound of shattering glass accompanies the blue glow of a Persona being summoned - a massive black steam engine. As Volcarona Girl declaims her strongest skill, the rest of the party will briefly feel a surge of energy and a feeling of being protected.

MIND MESSAGE

"Can you all hear me? Finally! Of all the problems we've had today I...nevermind let's concentrate on what's happening. I've been trying to contact you all night, but the comp network is malfunctioning."

No thanks to one of you, actually.

"But the point is, your entire fight is being displayed all over the television sets around the city! You obviously did not hear this from me, but the Office of Swords is on its way there with another of their missiles. With how the entire city is acting right now, they didn't even bother testing this one. There's some of our own running around in spandex saying they are the Guardians of the City. The point is, it could cause much more damage to the arena than their previous endeavor, and could be dangerous for all of you!"

But if that monster gets hit with it, it could cause something even worse.

"But if that monster gets hit with the missile, it could cause something far worse!"

Yes, exactly that.

"You need to finish it off before they get there! Then maybe this entire spell of lunacy which overtook the city might be over."

Of course that was the theory.

Zoroark - Nasty Plot, Tesla - Metal Sound (Rakunda), Scorpina - Ice Fang, Kotoha - Mediarama

As the scorpion she's riding swoops over the battlefield, Volcarona Girl lets go and lands on the ground near her moth, already summoning her Persona.

"Mediarama!"

The two remaining fliers - and one shapeshifted flier - swoop in to attack. Ice crystals condense around Scorpina's fangs as she glides down and bites the hand that grabbed Solar Logos, while Tesla releases a cone of sonic energy that assaults the Virgo demon's senses. Zoroark, sadly, doesn't have any skills that can actually harm the demon, so he settles for thinking dastardly thoughts.

Analyze - Nadesico vent coolant (Ice)

The Nadesico continues venting and charging on the monster.

"Yes, I know the comp network is down. I'll get the Nadesico's main gun ready to deal with the missile when it gets here. If anything a few weapon discharges should scare off the pilot if its a short range one or be able to disable it if its a long range missile."

Ruri sighs and continues scanning.

[Missles? Oh, great. Just what they needed. Agatha has gone back to trying to fix her broken death ray, but calls out to her persona.]

Try the water again!

[The water attacked seemed to work out a little better than the earth. They comply.]

Persona Skill - Magaru

Another voice in his head? What devilry was this? He had never heard this man's voice before, but the message seemed important. The battle was timed, it seemed. In any case, that meant there was no time to waste. Zelgius commanded Moh Shuvuu to use Magaru once more. Spamming attacks seemed to be more efficient than anything else at this point, though Zelgius really wished that his sword skills could be put to some use.

The attacks found their mark! The creature dramatically falls to the floor before it can do anything else, dropping the Pokemon. It attempts to raise itself up again, but cannot and flails its entire body in pain.

Meanwhile, they could hear the closer sounds sound of what seemed like a few planes overhead. If they didn't expect the spaceship or resistance from it, it was hard to tell.

"Don't do that!" He couldn't scream at them, but the voice certainly sounded louder for a few seconds.

"While they are misguided, you need to remember one thing; this Arena is the city's symbol, its beating heart! If the stadium goes down, the citizens will lose all hope! Do you see why it was rebuilt after the Anoli attack? If it gets more damaged, or worse, completely destroyed, it could spell out a complete headache to us, especially in regards to how the city treats the Visitors..."

In other words, bad. Very, very bad.

"Destroy the monster instead, and prove to the city we still have our place here! If you can stop the planes without destroying the Stadium, do it, but make sure that no one gets hurt!"

It was so much easier when they didn't have these restrictions, but even Q knew the political game behind all of this.

The entire team could feel a wave of energy in them as Q used what he could from afar to be able to heal them.

"Now finish it off!"
