Art project [Action] [OPEN]

Hand me some of the blue ones....

[People in the Scorpio district today might notice a young girl decorating the outside wall of the Mark Immortal's theater. She's standing on a step ladder while an odd little creature hands her up various paints, brushes and other supplies. Right now she's using bits of colored glass, taken from various broken bottles found in the trash. The picture seems to be of people lining up to go to the theater. Those who look closer might notice that the people seem to be familiar. They're all various visitors that Akane has met or seen. They might even see themselves. Everyone is depicted as cheerful and friendly. The blue glass is currently being used to decorate someone's dress. And the little girl seems to be having a pretty good time herself.

.....But does she even have permission to do this?]

Ooh, that looks great! What do you think, Shizuo-kun?

[He's assuming you actually got permission to paint there. Man if you didn't that would be... really awkward.] Who are all the people there?

They're all people who live here! Or used to. I've been painting the people I've met and the people I've seen around.

Oh, I see. I'm new here myself, so, I don't know many of the residents here. [Hm. Wonder if he can... recognize any of them.] ...Before I forget- my name is Jonathan. What's yours?

[She notices him looking though and smiles.]

I could put you in, if you want.

[REALLY??? uh he means-] I'd be honored. Only if it's convenient for you, of course.

[He is happy, though! That someone will actually make him a part of something.]

[She giggles.]

It's no trouble at all! In fact, I have a really good idea. While I paint you, why don't you paint someone you know?

Paint someone I know? I'm not very good with painting myself, unfortunately. Are you sure?

[He does know... a few... people. Very few. But still! People.] But if I do... do they have to be people in the city?

[She turns back to look at the people she's already painted.]

Well... a few of the people here already left the city. A long time ago.

[She misses them.]

Yes, that's right... people here leave. [Should he...] How long have you been here?

Um... almost a year.

[She's still smiling, but it's just a little strained.]

[He doesn't miss that.

Moving on quickly.] Have you ever met anyone named... Flynn, Walter or Isabeau? [That's all he's gonna touch on before moving back to painting.]

[She shakes her head.]

Sorry, no. Are they friends of yours?

Yes, they are. They hail from the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado, like I do. [Uhhhhh.] From my world, of course.

[Now she feels sort of bad for him.]

There's a lot of people I miss too. From back home, I mean. But the people here are nice! I've made a lot of really good friends.

[Don't tell him that, he'll just feel bad about making her feel bad.]

It is quite welcoming here. [...Even with demons and all. Back home was one train wreck after another. He considers making a remark about how he'd like them to be here because it's better, but...]

But there are duties that need to be accomplished back home as well. [At least, for Isabeau. Since Flynn, Walter and himself are probably dead.]

[Duties. She actually feels sort of glad that she doesn't have anything like that to worry about. She knows there are a lot of people who do.]

I guess I'm sort of lucky that way. I don't really have anything important I was doing.

We were all brought here for a reason, though. Far be it from me to go back to my world before finishing that.

[He does want to go back, though. He really doesn't want to think that he's dead, but going back and feeling nothing would be...]

What did you do in your home world, then?

Me? Nothing special. Mostly just school. And karate lessons.

[And hanging out with loan sharks. But nice loan sharks. Not the mean ones.]

[Nothing special is good.

It is kinda worrying a random civilian like herself could be pulled in and forced to help with the 13th Hour, though. Which begs the questions.]

Oh, do you fight during the 13th Hour? I'm sure those lessons could help with that.

[She's actually quite proud of that.]

I practice with my persona so I can get strong enough to protect people!

Come to think of it, you most likely have more experience with your Persona than I do. [Honestly, though. This girl doesn't seem very old at all.] How old are you, by the way?

[because there are. demons. and as much as possible Jonathan doesn't exactly like the idea of anyone being exposed to demons, much less children.]

[Her expression turns just slightly guarded and she keeps her tone carefully even.]

Eleven......

[Grown-ups were funny about things like that. Some of them thought she was too young to be doing the kinds of things she did.]

[WEEEELL FUCKING HELL

Jonathan certainly agrees with that. Eleven is not an acceptable age to sling people at demons who murder and pillage and tempt, haha, no. Even if they did survive, at such an impressionable age and the honeyed words of demons everywhere, what would they become?

[He doesn't really have a right to tell her to stop when she probably knows more than he does, right? Only thing Jonathan can do is maybe keep an eye out for her during the 13th Hour.]
