ARIES BOSS BATTLE [Closed]

Welcome to the Great Show on Earth

Where: Aries Stadium and Beyond
Summary: The Aries Monster Strikes unexpectedly.
When: 19th of April, 11AC, 13th hour.
Warnings: Fear, Horror, Dead bodies, Body Damage, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

There had been no warning. No special feeling.

Just strange things that set themselves up on all parts of the city. But for five Visitors, the situation is far different than the rising panic that is slowly building in the city. Without warning, they are whisked into a destination, as the lights of the stadium shine brightly in their eyes. There is little time to think about the irony that, once again, the stadium is at the center of the issue. How did they get here?

Before they can think or even see who their compatriots are, the lights move of their own accord, shining on a gigantic figure standing nearly twenty feet tall. There are four golden ram heads with a single body.

"LAAAAADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEN!!!"

It can speak? As it does, the happiest of the monster's head takes forefront.

"Weeeelcome to the greatest show on earth! The one, the only...me! Have you attended my media circus yet, or were you just sleeping? Regardless, congratulations! By a purely stroke of luck, you are the Outsiders that I have picked to fight me! You're all quite a challenge so to make sure I was up to the task, I've already practiced with citizens..."

It's face moves and changes to that one that looks terrified, the sound of grinding gears and metal turning.

"How they screamed and cried for mercy! Too bad for them!"

There's a pile of people to where it points with its cane. It's not...pretty to watch. There's more than a dozen people in there, no doubt...

"Are you ready for the main attraction, Outsiders? I'll start with only you five to face me in my full splendor!" The creature bows at the visitors, snickering to itself. As they watch, the head switches to the ram's head that looks angry.

"Now then! Formalities aside, this is a life or death situation! Death for you, of course. Fooooooor in this battle there is," Aries holds up its hands and goes back to the happier face. "NO rules, NO setup, NO stage level!" Confetti falls from the stadium's celebration piles. "Now then, Outsiders, let's see if you'll be able to save your beloved city, shall we?!"

"Cue the music!"

The monster's ego was clearly huge. Well there was no chance to say hi to each other, time to quickly prepare and get ready!

Sasha was slowly coming to and taking stock of what was happening. The tall guy seemed to be in control of the situation; she made a mental note to ask him about his prior combat experience later. Someone was hiding behind the tall man; this was understandable, and Sasha briefly entertained the idea of hiding behind him in turn and creating a Russian nesting doll of hiders. Lastly, the purple-haired girl... Sasha's memory was a touch fuzzy right now, but she was pretty sure that she'd at least seen her around on the network... wait a second. She'd been there on the Pokemon world trip! Ruri was her name. There.

She'd be lying if she said she wasn't bummed about the music change. The music sounded pretty cool to her. But that was, of course, beside the point. She needed to stay on her guard, just like the tall man said. She crept just a bit closer to Shinjiro (not so much so as to directly hide behind him and Sebastien) and flicked out a quick lick of flame.

"Okay. I think I'm ready for whatever's next."

Having those few moments to get his bearings were as good as any. Not that they had time for much else. Though his gaze remains mostly fixed on the monster standing tall and monolith-like in front of them, his eyes do occasionally drift two the two drifting closer (or in one case) immediately behind him. Adrenaline is already running through his system, but to his credit, his face remains impassive and he says nothing. He does, however, briefly call Castor out to charge his strength while he has an opportunity. He doesn't have any of his usual weapons (unless any of them were teleported somewhere around the stadium to find, though he honestly doesn't know what good it'd do anyway). But he hopes there's someone here that can heal competently.

Do those two even know how to fight? He knows Hoshino. Not personally, but she had been close to Minako whileshe had been here. She was a Support Persona user, wasn't she? Seemed to be calm and analytic enough. They'd have to attack it sooner or later, but it'd be better for them to have a picture of what they were up against.

"You're a Support User aren't you?" he says, gruff voice rising above the quieting furor due to whatever the white noise machines (or whatever the hell they are) are doing. At times like this, he missed Fuuka. "Can you tell us anything about what we're up against? If we're gonna fight, I'd rather not start fighting him blind."

When the music is changed the monster switched from happy to its angry face.

"NO! I will not tolerate a change in my plan! It's mine! MINE!!!My precious, mine mine mine mine..."

A giant foot came crashing down near them, as the hoof contacted the small machines, in an attempt to drown them out and return it to the music. It was in such a rage it was ignoring everything else, and for that price, and electrical shock burst traveled along its body, sending it into a sudden shock.

"N---." It didn't have time to finish as whatever allowed it to speak shut off, and the face was replaced to the fearful one.

> The target is under shock! It will not be able to attack during this round!

"Baka baka...."

She shakes her head, "Yurika-san, please find out what its weak against?"

With that her persona appears and casts its Weakness Scan

Sébastien was shaking behind Shinjiro. Strangely, he understood a bit what the lavender-haired girl had reported. Odile, however, told him she did did not have a skill like that. That didn't help his thumping heart at all. Not knowing what to do, where to hide or how to get out of this, he grabbed his head with both hands and let out a cry of pain as Odile came forth to defend him in the one way she knew: casting her one Water attack at the monster while it was shocked.

Okay, so they'd gotten some data on this enemy, and apparently it was weak to... light? No deal. Sasha was almost wishing she'd kept Gabriel as her Velvet Room persona, but how could she pass up the big badass lightning dragon?

That aside, Sasha considered her skills carefully. Phaeton was kind of weak. It wouldn't be able to cut through something that had "very high" HP. Sure, it was a good substitute for her natural magic (which was weakened by the world's energy balance), but if she had a more powerful option, why not use it? She raised her hand up, called the Velvet Room card down, and crushed it. The massive dragon appeared and roared, drawing energy into itself. This would make the next attack significantly more powerful and hopefully make the battle be done with that much quicker.

He initially things that maybe he should break the enemy first, but with the ringleader at least momentarily stopped for a turn, he figures he might as well go all out. He can change his game plan afterwards.

So taking a moment, trying to put aside the cry of pain behind him, he calls out Castor and sends him surging forward.

The water attack connects but seems to barely hurt the frozen monster. Castor hits the monster, but it doesn't seem to have done anything at all. Getting up on its two legs again, it shakes its entire body to remove the effects of the shock, as the face turns to the angry one again.

"I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore!" , Flames shoot out from his outstretched hand towards them, sending burning fire their way.

The scary face to its place, the monster suddenly trembling.

"B-b-b-but," it goes on, "...I feel the need for speed!" Twirling its cane, a spell hovered above him before entering his body and suddenly it looked like his body was moving faster than before. Who knew what else it did.

"You really like television quotes."

She shakes her head and calls her persona again.

"Yurika, we need more data."

Sébastien was still not convinced they were gonna wind this, and when his attack and Shinjiro's did nothing, he decided to attempt another strategy. If he could ditract the monster, maybe they could run away?

"Come dance, Odile!" he shouted as he stepped away from Shinjiro. But, confused as he was, his Persona partner appearead behind him, away from his outstretched arm, he messed up his foot work during the pas, and when Odile jumped for the finale he completely failed to catch her and she crashed on the ground.

Not his finest hour there.

Sasha narrowly got out of the way of the surging flames in time, and lamented the fact that Kohryu didn't resist fire like Phaeton did. To be fair, dragons of elements other than fire were a thing, and she knew that.

Now, however, it was time to unleash the stored power. "Don't worry, guys! This is a really high-ranking skill, and it's charged up to boot!" She probably shouldn't have announced that, but she did anyway. Following that, she had Kohryu fire off the Volt Carnage.

Frowning when Castor's attack does nothing, he shakes off the torrent of flame as best he can, waiting for regenerate to kick in, before summoning Castor once more. At least he knows he's weak against something.

And with a shrill, equine shriek he sends an Evil Smile the Ringleader's way.

Unfortunately, the display of electrical prowess, while amazing in its own right, end up being absorbed by the creature. All of the previous damage is healed back. The face turns again, it's the happy one.

"Not bad! Finally, you have some bite to you, although that attack was useless on me. I AM INVINCIBLE!!!" As it spoke those lines, solid walls of ice erupted from the sky, raining down on them like harden piece of never-ending hail.Pointing its cane at them again, grids appeared over their bodies for a few seconds, as it let out a terrible laugh."Well played, but now I know everything about all of you! The faster I am rid of you, the faster I can finish the job!"

The face turned to the sad one.

"Unfortunately, its the end!" Taking the cane with both hands like a golf club, it swung it at Shinjiro in an attempt to slam him outside into the sky, but as he got closer to him, let out a scream and dropped his cane as the fear effect took over his mind.

"No! no no no no no no this is about me! MEEEE! Stop it stop it stop it! Did you hear me?! THIS IS ABOUT ME!!"

>It was far too gone to do anything else...

Ruri shook the frost out of her hair and shivered a bit, closing her eyes and changing to her new persona given to her. Quebec was cold, so perhaps it could better deal with things.

"The Sad face absorbs electricity, I'm also calling for backup."

Aaaaah god it was so cold why him??? Crossing his arms tightly over his chest, hurt and shivering, he felt a change in his mind, like cards being shuffled. A kind woman emerged from his mind, appearing in a flash of blue light to place her hand on Sébastien's cropped hair.

"This is will help you out there, son," she said before healing Sébastien's wounds, allowing him to stand normally again... and return to his spot behind Shinjiro, now that he was no longer confused.

Sasha's face totally fell after the attack was completely absorbed. That was horribly, horribly embarrassing. So much for trying to be more powerful... and then the ice came, and she thanked her lucky stars that she didn't have Phaeton up right now. With a yelp, she shielded her face with her arms and took a few hits of ice. It stung quite a bit.

"I-I'm sorry, everyone! I didn't know that would happen!" That apology was incredibly lame, but that was all she could do for now. "Don't worry, I can heal!" She scanned the fighters, checking to see who looked most banged up, and decided that it would be Shinjiro. "Here, take this!" With that, she casted Diarahan on him.

"I can also do this, though I don't know how effective it's gonna be." She held out one hand and fired a flame that was shaped like a long dragon at the monster. Her natural magic was weakened in this world due to a different energy composition from her home world, which was why her Soul Persona wasn't completely redundant. If she had to attack by chip damage, though, it was what she'd have to do.

"Is it the faces that matter or the the attacks it uses?"

That was the question. He had used a mind and fire-based skills just a moment ago, and had been found vulnerable to both of those. Was it weak to ice and physical now? Hard to say. And he's not sure if he wants to chance another of his physical attacks being rendered ineffective.

Still, relieved that Castor's skill worked, Shinjiro retreats a more acceptable distance back from the monster (last thing he needed was to be right by him), shaking off the bits of ice and more than a little grateful for the healing.

He then uses the opportunity to cast Physical Break on the enemy. That should give most of them an attacking point, at the very least.

Shaking its fear off, the creature yelled out in frustration, as the music in the stadium rose up and the fire attack stuck on his pants, causing him to have to tap it out. The others may have heard the sound of a helicopter nearby, not the Nadesico, but something more native to the place.

The news. The city was now wide awake in the middle of the surprise attack, and from a safe distance, cameras were rolling.

Someone seemed happy with the bright light was flashed at him.

"Aha! I was wondering when the fools would show up. Well everyone, cameras are rolling and the whole city's watchin'! Let's light up a few more fires, shall we?"

It was back to the angry face again. With a sickening crack, it used its left leg to hurl the human bodies on the floor at them. Those were real bodies. Piece of dead demons and people scattered around them, sending whatever remained of the blood and organs crashing on top.

"Fasten your seatbelts. It's going to be a bumpy night!" The face changed once more, fearful. "B-b-but let's see. How about...you? What should we talk about, so that the entire city can hear about it?"

The cane pointed to Shinjiro...or rather the boy hiding behind him.

"Where should I start? Ladies and gentlemen! This boy is available, but better act now before he dies cold and alone and not having experienced the taste of human flesh in its most carnal form...besides, he'll be easier to tame, once I break his legs..." He snapped his fingers.

Crack! The sound of his bones giving way, legs crumbling until he fell to the floor, was all too clear...for Sebastian. Stuck inside an illusion, to the others he'd simply fallen over, keeping his vocal agony, but unreachable by the others around him. And for him only, oh for him, he would continue to see the battle as it got worse and worse...

Ruri's Persona, the stupid dancing snowman thing she was given appeared and deflected the poison back at the monster before charging for an ice punch. Ruri however just stood there with a dumbfounded look on her face.

"....I'm not sure if that's a joke or not. If we can hold out till the Nadesico gets here I can get the distortion fields up."

Seb had never yelled so much nor so loud in his entire goddamned life. The fact that that monster had just told "national" television he needed to go laid was miles away from his mind as his freakin legs were freakin broken his career was over his life was over and why was no one helping him??? In his mind they all had discarded him to face the monster, which was of course a very reasonable course of action but Seb was not in a really reasonable state.

Sasha yelped as the bodies flew toward her, trying hard to keep her bile from rising from the smell. A severed arm smacked her in the face stump-first, and then she felt... distinctly sick. She had been poisoned by random encounters enough on her adventures to recognize that she was poisoned now, and she didn't even have any antidotes. Great.

A more pressing concern was the young man who was now screaming and collapsed not too far away from her. Clearly, he had been injured, and he needed healing... right? Never mind that Sasha's own strength was ebbing and she would need to heal herself soon; whatever the monster did to him sounded nasty. She sent a Diarahan his way, hoping that it would at least ease the pain.

Once that was done, Sasha flung off another dragon-shaped flame at the beast. It made the beast tarry for a few moments, so why not try again?

The bodies were disgusting, and Shinjiro flinches almost imperceptibly, though there's more pity than disgust there. He tries to ignore the new flecks of blood on his clothes, and the pieces of flesh around him—even here, he can't afford to get distracted. Then he hears Sébastian scream from behind him, and Shinjiro's head snaps behind him, affording Sébastian a concerned backwards glance, however momentary he redirects his gaze to where it should be, on the Ringleader again, because like it or not there's nothing he can do for him. He can't heal, or even dispel ailments. He's useless on that front. The entirety of his skills are physical. It's all about bringing something down. He hasn't liked it for a long time, but he knows what he can do and what he can't.

So he guesses he needs to fulfill his end of things, and he's not willing to lose whatever affordance the Physical Break gave him, and launches Castor forward.

Suddenly, a voice called out in their minds. Unfortunately for Seb, it was too far in to hear it, but the other three would recognize the grumpy old man behind it.

"I see. So it's brought several of you here. I'll be brief; strange tents have shown up in certain of the city's wards. No warning. There's a magical barrier protecting anyone from coming in, but the news helicopter has had no issue getting in...we think it might be purposefully doing that. It's never a good idea to give in to their demands but, it's probably too busy with that to notice who else is inside..."

That being implied; said grumpy old man was up there with the people rolling the cameras. Maybe if you'd wave you'd see him.

A wall of energy surrounds them, forming a barrier as the monster is distracted from both from what small harm it has gotten, and Q uses that time to talk some more.

"There wasn't much time to create a counter-offense, but Kandori and the others are busy at City Hall with the police force, while Visitors are tasked with attacking whatever creatures are in those tents. And--oh dear, it seems one of you fellows can't stop yelling, hold on..." Seb suddenly went mute. Or more like someone cast a spell on him. "It's the best I can do for now. I'll need some time to fix his situation. So now I'll need to ask you what you need of me..."

> Q can either become full support for the group, or you can ask him to aid you with direct combat and try to break the barrier surrounding the area.
