Spring Celebration [OPEN TO ALL]

Who: Everyone
Where: All around the city
Summary: Open!
Warnings: None

Spring had finally arrived in Hinoto-Ri, and with it, a sense of renewal. The cold winter had gone, sweeping away memories of Shadows, endlessly repeating days, and awkward Valentine's Day escapades. A great deal of the damage to the city had been restored since the previous fall(although there is still damage from the Aries battle, but what else is new) and the gentle sun shining overhead in the midst of clear skies and a fresh breeze made it easy to forget that Hinoto-Ri was such a volatile place.

Life in the city goes on. And while there was no official government-hosted festival this year, the cherry trees throughout Capricorn remain present to be enjoyed, nonetheless. The first cherry blossoms are beginning to bloom and the pink blossoms are surely the most beautiful sight there is to see in Hinoto-Ri...

Tens of thousands of trees dotted the park's landscape, but it was the Cherry trees that were the stars of the weekend, the pink petals creating a heavenly smell only enhanced by the small stalls that were busy selling hot yakitori (grilled chicken on sticks), takoyaki (octopus balls on sticks), shioyaki (Salty grilled sea bream on sticks ) and kakigori (Shaved ice with syrup, not on a stick).

The prime picnic places were being taken and families grouped together to eat homemade lunches and bento, but there were still many spots and trees to go under should you wish to do so with friends. Young couples walked hand in hand and many young students sat under the trees, reading books or playing games.

Underneath a particularly large tree, the temples and shrines of the city have once again set up an area for O-Mikuji, where it was possible to get a fortune. 5 yen is the luckiest, though any offering will do.

There are, naturally, many other opportunities for the Visitors now that the weather is warming up. Picnics in the park, trawling the increasingly lively street-side stalls for trinkets and vendor food like takoyaki and yakitori, spending more time at night fighting demons during the 13th Hour now that it's not freezing cold...

Well, perhaps the last one isn't quite so fun. But the demons, too, seem bolder now that the weather has changed - with the exception of the Frosts, of course.

[OOC - Open log for all players! Start your own threads! have a picnic under the plants, eat a bunch of food or join others, mingle to your heart's content, tomorrow the ability to buy fortunes will be posted, and your character's fates may gain something new.

ETA: Fortunes will be delayed due to unexpected real life circumstances.]

OTA - During the week

After that hellish...whatever, Eikichi had decided to sit by one of the thousand of trees, most of the citizens looking at him oddly. Well not at him, but the giant creature next to him, that was holding his bag in it's mouth.

How he'd managed that, no one would know.

Regardless, there was food scattered on his blanket and he paid close attention to anyone who came by and scribbled on his giant pad. What could he be doing?

hi pixle no one is replying so might as well

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-04-26 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
That... wasn't a demon, right?

The creature didn't have the aura of being one. It was intimidating, admittedly, but not in the way demons were. And... it contained water. Lots of it. How curious...

It was enough to pique Takakage's interest to make conversation.

"Pardon for interrupting." He tried his best not to sound rude. "If it isn't too much trouble... could you tell me what your companion is?"
deathboss: (Grin - Cocky Kid)

Hello how are you :)

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-29 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
It was as close as a demon you could get to having a creature...nay, a monster that could fit your pocket. At least the odd effect was having it close to him was that people were more afraid of it than him....

"Hey! No problem at all bro, as long as you ain't here to try and attack it like some of the other Persona users. It's a Gyrados," he explained grinning, giving the creature a small pat on the side. "Before that he was a...fish....but he evolved. He's a Pokemon, like the ones the Kotoha chica carries around."
thirdarrow: (neutral ♒ Ixobrychus cinnamomeus)

not dead :p still alive

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-04-29 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
The other's words carried more than just a few foreign terms. While the translator should have given it meaning, they were too distant to come out as anything more than proper nouns.

"... I see." Takakage answered after a short pause. So they were a different kind of creature - but very rare, too. He didn't know that Kotoha had some too - perhaps they were from her world?

He filed the question away for future inquiring.

"I presume it takes instruction from you? Like a Persona... but only in that aspect?"

deathboss: (Movement - I'm so badass baby!)

not being dead is EXCELLENT

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-29 08:15 am (UTC)(link)
It's okay, there was a learning curve that Eikcihi himself had to climb. Then again he'd claim he knew exactly what he was doing from the beginning, it wasn't like he flailed around more than his own Pokemon for a while, that would be silly.

"Yeah a bit like that!" It was how he had thought of it at first. "There's certain things it can learn and as long as you keep him happy, he follows what I say."

However, he wasn't a perfect trainer either.

"It's okay, we came to an understanding."
thirdarrow: (neutral ♒ Ixobrychus sinensis)

yes exactly! so I can do tags hahahha

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-04-29 08:28 am (UTC)(link)
Presumably it served as a battle ally like other Persona did. However, it was a large creature - how did he manage to keep it, then? Seeing that it functioned as a pet or a similar creature companion of some sort...

But more about that later. Courtesy first.

"I see." Takakage nodded, giving the other a faint smile. "Ah - please pardon my lapse in conduct. May I know your name?"
deathboss: (Movement - Babe I'm beautiful)

Re: yes exactly! so I can do tags hahahha

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-30 10:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course, babe, of course!" Yes, any reason to flaunt his beautiful, amazing perfect self was never going to get passed. "Allow me to introduce myself to the world. Eikichi Mishina, or Michel, sending love to all the ladies of the world, HOOOOOOOOO!"

Surprisingly, Eikichi does not smoke anything, as one might wonder.

does eikichi learn history?? :p

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-04-30 10:30 am (UTC)(link)
Takakage tried his best not to flinch, reducing his response to a very slight step backwards. Eikichi was... very... loud...

"... I see." He recovered quickly, though. "A pleasure to make your acquaintance." His own voice sounded faint in comparison. "My name is Takakage Kobayakawa, retainer of the Mouri clan."

Eikichi was definitely Japanese. Perhaps he was from the future as well?
deathboss: (Grin - Cocky Kid)

He does but he's not the best student so I'm sorry in advance

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-30 10:42 am (UTC)(link)
"Nice to met ya, Takakage! Sounds like you come from some sort of old samurai planet!" Cause of course there is no way it could be like his earth (get with the program, Eikichi).

"That explains the outfit. My dad would freak out seeing you...he's very 'old school'." Or perhaps one might would have just said traditional. However Eikichi wasn't the type to throw words like that especially if he was trying to step away from that. Ahhh, teenage rebellion.
thirdarrow: (confidence ♒ Tadorna cristata)

ah I thought he might have recognized takakage hahahaha saionji did

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-04-30 10:50 am (UTC)(link)
Takakage nodded politely. "If you hail from the nation once known as the Land of the Rising Sun, then I am from your past. " Saionji was. "I believe it is now named Japan, in the modern tongue."

It still felt rather surreal to be speaking with those from the future. History had cast them in an... interesting light.
deathboss: (Grin - Sparkles I am the best)

maybe if he was a rock start he'd reconize him--okay no that's terrible

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-05-03 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
Land of the Rising sun was so poetic. Man he loved the sound of that when it came out of someone from that time that it almost made him want to write a song about it. Thankfully for everyone else, he decided not to.

"Yeah that's right! I'm Japanese all the way, baaaaby!"
thirdarrow: (delicate ♒ Aythya marila)

in an au maybe hehehhee

[personal profile] thirdarrow 2014-05-04 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Takakage nodded politely. "May I know which year your timeline is currently at?" Saionji's was four to five centuries ahead of his time.

Though... Eikichi made him uncomfortable. The youth was too flamboyant, almost rivaling the kabukimono of the Sengoku Era. Even worse than Saionji, too, and the strategist had thought her extreme. Had culture and civility deteriorated so far over time? What a tasteless world the future must be...
cykedfists: DO NOT STEAL (Gasp)

[personal profile] cykedfists 2014-04-28 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
Athena had seen Eikichi's video of the creature, so seeing the creature itself wasn't surprising. No, it was seeing just how much bigger it was than the video feed.

"Woah! He's bigger than I thought he was," she said in awe.
deathboss: (Emotion - Fake Blushing)

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-29 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
"It's he just babe! The bro's growing up looking better and better each day!" As long as he could take him for walks in the park without scarring away too many people and not keep him stuffed inside his room, he'd be okay with it.

"Anyway! How you don' today?"
cykedfists: DO NOT STEAL (Tiger)

[personal profile] cykedfists 2014-05-06 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure things are much more interesting with him evolved like this," she let out a grin. "Me? I'm doing great. It's a beautiful day and the blossoms are very pretty."
unbroken_chain: (wonder)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-04-28 11:51 am (UTC)(link)
Don't mind Kotoha, she's just admiring your Pokemon.

"Wooow, you've got a good one!"
deathboss: (I am the most awesome)

Is it bad I want to say it's a girl but Eikichi has always thought it was a guy

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-29 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Ahh yes, he would take all that praise from the master pokemon...er...person and absorb it like a sponge.

"Thanks babe, I've been taking good care of him. After all, it takes a bro to know another one!" Or more like Eikichi finally stopped being afraid of it and actually started to take care of it properly.
unbroken_chain: (Default)

not at all, and Kotoha can actually tell if that is what you want?

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-04-29 12:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Kotoha's gaze flickers over the Pokemon's barbels before returning to Eikichi.

"Oh! That reminds me; like I said before, I have some TMs if you want Koi to learn some different attacks?"
deathboss: <user name=Pixle> (Emotion - Thinking)

For him to learn thousand of years later it's perfect

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-04-30 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
"I've been meaning to ask about that chica," he answers, looking over the Pokemon towering over him. "First of all, how does it go from this..." here, he put his hands to about the size of a normal magikarp, "into this? It's like an entirely different species..."
unbroken_chain: (lost)

[personal profile] unbroken_chain 2014-04-30 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
"...that's just what Pokemon do."

Seriously, you might as well have asked 'why is water wet' from the way Kotoha is responding.
deathboss: (Emotion - Sighing in frustration)

[personal profile] deathboss 2014-05-03 10:16 am (UTC)(link)
Which left him little to no satisfaction.

"But that...doesn't explain anything! So it just switches from one form to another? Like Persona?"

The Gyrados, meanwhile, had decided to just lie down at this point. It probably knew when Eikichi was being...Eikcihi-like.

"What? No, Forme Changes are reversible, this is just plain ol' evolution."
