The Soul Still Burns, Part Two

Summary: Still hunting, but now there's a reason.

A few days after the rescue team returns, Sarah sends out another broadcast. This time, it's from the Knight's Academy, where she stores her God Arc - which has undergone a transformation. Instead of a loose grouping of mechanical parts with no set theme, it now looks...almost organic, blood dripping down the length of the blade.

"Greetings. Those of you familiar with my God Arc might notice how she's changed - this is what happened after she ate all those Susano'o last week. I took the parts she didn't eat over to M.A.G.I. and they're pretty confident that with enough materials they'll be able to make more God Arcs. I'll be heading out into the city during the 13th Hour tonight to bring back more of the raw materials. I'd appreciate it if I could get some backup again."

With a courteous nod, she shuts off the COMP and prepares to head out. That night, during the 13th Hour, she can be found battling titanic creatures all over the city.

[When Sarah arrives Misfit is hanging back observing the monster.]

Sarah eyes the Amaterasu from beside Misfit, pointing out various features.

"Vulnerable spots are the front set of tentacles, the statue, and the horns. Avoid the breasts; they're heavily armored. If you have lightning abilities, use them."

Switching over to Gun Mode, Sarah charges at the Aragami, discharging a long line of purple thunder at it from the newly-reconfigured gun.

Right. Zelus!

[Misfit's persona emerges.]

Do that thing you learned at the tournament.

[Zelus cocks his arm back and strikes the Amaterasu hard.]

As the horns of the Aragami shatter under Zelus' assault, Sarah summons Fenrir.

"Zionga!"

[Misfit is a bit cocky after the last monster went down so easily. She's bouncing around and slashing at the tentacles with the knife Sarah gave her.]

Sarah's right in there with Misfit, using Fenrir's Cleave skill to slash away at the tentacles. She pauses as she notices the tentacles twitch a little, diving at Misfit as they unravel into a series of smaller tentacles, which the Aragami starts flailing around with randomly.

Sarah's hurled herself bodily over Misfit, Fenrir's ability to null physical strikes useful as she turns herself into a living shield.

[Good thing Sarah shielded her because Misfit totally missed those incoming tentacles. Seeing Sarah take a hit for her makes Misfit see red. She dodges around the tentacles aiming to strike the statue on the creature's head with her knife.]

As Sarah unleashes another Zionga, she eyes the Aragami.

"One last push!"

Yeah! Zelus bash that statue off of it.

[Zelus stabs at the statue aiming to finish this battle.]

The statue is the Aragami's face, but it doesn't particularly need it for anything, so it doesn't bother defending it from Zelus' assault, nor Fenrir's follow-up Zionga. As it's reeling, Sarah switches over to Gun Mode and unleashes another of those rocket-like blasts of lightning from her Arc, causing the Aragami to stumble and fall forward.

And now, it's feeding time.

[That's always weird to watch.]

So, is the blood going to stop coming out now?

Rebecca's already cocooned herself.

"Ah, yeah. When she's out, she should just be haunted by the screams of the unquiet dead."

No big deal.

And we're fixing the unquiet dead thing right? CAuse that sounds crazy.

A nod as the cocoon retreats, showing that Rebecca is physically unchanged but no longer leaking blood.

"The next time we do this, she'll absorb the spirits into herself and become fully sapient."
