Summary: Garviel teaches people how to fight with guns, blades, hand to hand, and everything but silly personas pretty much.
Warnings: Manliness, possible combat, a lot of talking.
[Loken waits, a few spare blades and a few longarms and pistols in a fairly careless-looking pile beside him, holding his chainsword two-handed, almost challenging anyone to approach him and learn. He is 8 feet tall, and an imposing figure at the edge of the plains, just before the forest.]

"It may be you need to learn discipline before you learn more about blade-work. Self-control is the basis of victory. IF you can't master yourself, you will be manipulated by canny foes."

He looks at Pit calmly, his tone changing slightly. He sounds like someone reciting hard-won truths of battle. Because that is exactly what he is.

His first urge is to give in to that defensiveness that got him into so much trouble. He has discipline. He's captain of Palutena's guard! People don't rise to such ranks if they lack discipline!

But he lost himself. There was no denying it. If Loken's advice had come from the hard-worn truths of battle, then so had Pit's lack of discipline. If he didn't fight back, he died. It was that simple.

No. That wasn't it.

If he didn't fight back, he'd never see her again. That was it.

He pushes himself to his feet, dusting the dirt off his tunic. "I'll be more careful next time," he says, subdued.

"Good. Now, come at me again."

He draws forth his combat knife this time, as good as a broadsword for anyone smaller, and waits.

Pit shakes his head. "I think I've had enough for today."

Loken nods his head, shifting stances slightly, but keeps the knife out. Maybe waiting for someone else.
