Summary: Garviel teaches people how to fight with guns, blades, hand to hand, and everything but silly personas pretty much.
Warnings: Manliness, possible combat, a lot of talking.
[Loken waits, a few spare blades and a few longarms and pistols in a fairly careless-looking pile beside him, holding his chainsword two-handed, almost challenging anyone to approach him and learn. He is 8 feet tall, and an imposing figure at the edge of the plains, just before the forest.]

Now, hold that stance for 5 minutes. I'll count down with my chronometer.

[ Loken steps back, making Yu stand in the corrected stance for the full 5 minutes, watching him. ]

[F-five minutes? He couldn't remember the last time he had to stand still in battle for five minutes. Yu didn't show his exasperation about this on his face, but man was he flipping tables in his head.]

But it's good practice.

[Izanagi, hush.]

4 minutes. [ Garviel continues to count down, watching him. ]

[Bring, it, metal bro. Yu kept his perfect lineface up, refusing to back down from this challenge.]

3 minutes. [ The helm can stare longer than you can, mortal. ]

[Wanna bet on that? He's the master of linefacing, man, and the piercing stare that went with it.]

2 minutes. [ He continues to try to find out just how long he can hold. ]

[...legs you are not burning. C'mon, he's played basketball for Yasoinaba High all year. THIS IS NOTHING! BRING IT BURN, BRING IT!]

[...wow, his mental process was strange sometimes.]

One minute. [ He continues to watch the boy impassively, waiting. ]

[ Loken nods, once Yu holds it. ]

Rest for a moment.

[linefacingforever]

[Yu allowed himself to let out a relieved breath as he loosened up, shaking out his legs. Ow, man. Just ow.]

Now, begin again.

[Again? What, he just had to keep... standing like this?]

Yes.

[...S I G H. Yu put himself back in the same position... sort of almost immediately.]

[ Walks around him during this time, saying. ]

Practice makes the master, and a strong foundation will allow you far better results later on.

[Yu gave a nod of acknowledgement, keeping his attention on where his feet were, how his body was held, what part ached from his position, just so he could remember in the future. He never got a lesson in the basics, so he wasn't going to give up on this opportunity.]

[ He continues to walk around, activating his chainsword and holds it dangerously close to Yu, without actually touching him. }

You must learn to focus, and not be distracted by anything. Acknowledge and understand stimuli, but if they rule you, you've already lost the fight.

[Yu's expression did not change outwardly, though there was an obvious prickling of sweat coming to his forehead. Should he react? Was he going to attack? He didn't want to overreact, but he didn't want to end up on his ass either...]

[ Loken continues to circle, the chainsword now behind Yu's ear. ]

Fear is a great enemy. You must learn to control it or defeat it entirely. Fear kills more surely than a bolter or a chainsword.

[Yu was... doing a fairly good job of not flipping a shit, if barely. He was getting flashbacks of Adachi stabbing his forehead with his gun, pulling the trigger... and jerking the gun away at the last possible second to shoot the ground instead. The sword wasn't exactly making the same noise, but it was still a show of how close death was...]

[ Loken moves the blade around behind his neck, the warmth of the purring motor can be felt at the nape. ]

Know no fear, and act with honor.

[Yu could feel his heart threatening to beat out of his chest.]

Relax, child; this ist a simple test for thee. Thou wilst know when he plans to attack. Listen.

[Yu forced out a breath, ignoring the hammering of his heart and listening as his Persona said; trying to find that tell tail clue that an attack was coming...]

[ No attack comes, loken just counting time as he steps around to Yu's front, holding the chainsword near his stomach. ]

Death is not to be feared, only failure.

[Especially when she's coming at you with all the forces of Yomi. Still, he couldn't help the small crack, even if his head god was currently face palming at him and even if the armored man wouldn't get it.]
