The 13th Hour - GENERAL LOG

Who: EVERYONE who is in the Scorpio Event and not doing the boss battle.
Where: The Entire City
Summary: 13th hour. The Perfect Link's Mutation Skill is unlocked and now people have a chance against the swarming Scorpions. Unfortunately, for some, this just means the paranoia hit a new low....you can group and join each other's posts and try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: NPCs, Attacking, Battles.

13th Hour.

The city was in chaos. As it hit, the population attempted to return home, but it was too late. The scorpions continued to swarm, the police force trying to help as many as they could. You might even spot the Anoli once in a while...although they were only helping those that had Persona. Regardless, they were, at least, doing something.

The corpses of millions of scorpions were littered in the city streets. But once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated. But that was not the worst of it...

Oh no...

The Scorpios of the city now had a Scorpion tail dragging behind them, capable of causing Poison and Paralyzing damage. On a normal human, this was already terrible enough...

On a Persona User....they needed to be taken down.

Quickly.

And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission; you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Scorpio Ward...

Man, he hates interrupting plots! Last time that happened to him he had to deal with a revolving door of antagonists! And then he got turned into a ring!

But the beeping pulls him out of his thoughts. He glances at her over his shoulder.

"What's that?"

"Bad news, that's what," Rune replied. "My guns are running low on charge."

"Whuh-oh. Any way we can recharge them on the field?"

[pistolsakimbo]

"Not unless you can pull a sun out of your bag of tricks."

She paused, before glancing over her shoulder at him. Please. Please, tell her you can't actually do that.

"No, I can't generate the sun." He doesn't have Heavenly Light equipped, anyway, though he thinks he should have... "But don't worry. I've got your back."

[pistolsakimbo]

Rune glanced back at him a moment longer, before she quickly turned away, feeling her face heat up.

"T-thanks."

The distraction was enough for a few humans with the Scorpio masks on them to sneak nearby. Like mad zombies, they growled and attacked, the scorpion tails on their back pulsating while throwing acid at the both of them.

Pit springs into action immediately.

His first course of action is to push Rune out of the way.

His second is to dodge the acid as quickly as he can. Some of it gets on him, unfortunately--but he was smart enough to equip Effect Recovery in his little box of powers. As soon as he's recovered, he summons his persona (a curiously pixelated angelic archer in a white tunic and brown sandals...) and casting a light spell on a few of the humans.

The ones that don't get knocked out get a good thwack from his club.

Rune had turned in surprise, ready to retaliate... and Pit pushed her out of the way. On top of it, he pushed her right into the path of some of the acid spit! She threw her arms up over her face immediately to protect herself, letting out a hiss of pain as it splashed on her arms instead.

She bit her lip, wanting to cry in pain or shoot Pit in the back of the head, one of the two. So much for having her back, the creep! Instead, she called on Undine, letting a Dia spell handle the damage done to her arm.

Yeah, Pit saw that, and he. He kind of wants to throw himself directly in the path of the acid because he messed up again oh man oh goddess oh man oh goddess, oh goddess oh man!

He'd say he's sorry, but he's already said that enough, and that didn't work. So much for that date!

He keeps fighting, but it's obvious he's distracted.

Distraction? Perfect time for the Scorpio zombies not affected by his attack to attempt to pile on top of him like an American football game gone wrong.

Rune let out an annoyed noise; dammit, that stupid angel was distracted again! She leveled a gun at the one zombie, feeling her stomach twist. Dammit...!

A shot of lightning lanced out of the gun, draining the last of it's charge. Her aim looked like it was at Pit, but it missed the angel boy by a mile, aimed for the zombie instead.

Right. Gotta get his head out of this funk. He takes the opportunity afforded by one less zombie on him to cast another light spell, rendering enough zombies unconscious to allow Pit to pry the rest of them off with his club.

And then he's left with Rune.

"...s-sorry...I was trying to get you out of the way..."

She shook her gun that still had charge threateningly at him, though she didn't really mean it... mostly.

"I'm not a damsel in distress! I'm more than capable of taking care of myself!" she snapped. "If you want to go out with me that bad, don't you dare forget that!"

...oh god, did she really just say that? Rune felt her cheeks heat up again.

"Okay okay I won't!"

I-It's just he's used to humans being Humans in Distress and he's only met one human who could stand up against monsters like this and she's not Magnus but okay okay okayyyyyyyyy

Rune stood back up, Undine hanging behind her with a concerned look on her face as she raised the empty gun, frowning at the red bars. Well, this one was shot...

"We need to get somewhere safe," she said softly, slipping the empty gun into its holster. "We're not going to get anywhere like this."

"Right." In a flash, Pit changes personas--from the strange pixelated angel to a human dressed not too dissimilar from Pit, holding a blade in one hand and the head of a snake-haired woman in the other.

"Perseus! Aeon Rain!" he calls out, raining down an attack that clears out quite a few of the scorpions. Pit, meanwhile, swings his club down, shooting out a projectile that clears a path for them.

"C'mon!"

...Pit, you are a dork.

"You know you don't have to call out your attacks, right?" she asked, but she wasn't going to stand there and not take advantage of the opening.

"But I like doing it that way! It makes me feel cooool~"

He may or may not be saying this ironically.

[pistolsakimbo]

"...why did I agree to a date again...?" Rune muttered under her breath, waving an arm toward Undine. The Persona responded, blasting a scorpion that thought it would get lucky with water.

Be glad Pit didn't hear that, as he's currently doing an awesome job clearing the way with his club and his persona.

Eventually--and not without event (though thankfully without Pit dying)--they reach the Pisces government-issued apartments.

"Will this work?" Pit asks, thankful for the reprieve from fighting. There's enough people out here already doing the work for them.

Rune bent over when they finally got a break, grabbing her knees as he fought for breath back. Oh... god... she was exhausted. All she wanted to do was roll up into her bed and sleep for a few weeks.

"Yeah... this'll be grand..."

"Do you live here?"

[pistolsakimbo]

Rune nodded, not trusting her voice to say more. Dismissing her Persona helped, but she still fell over against the building.

"H-hey now, this isn't any place to rest! Here, I'll help you up to your room, then you can rest there, okay?"

He holds out one of his arms.
