The 13th Hour - GENERAL LOG
Who: EVERYONE who is in the Scorpio Event and not doing the boss battle.
Where: The Entire City
Summary: 13th hour. The Perfect Link's Mutation Skill is unlocked and now people have a chance against the swarming Scorpions. Unfortunately, for some, this just means the paranoia hit a new low....you can group and join each other's posts and try to hold the city down and protect everyone!
Warnings: NPCs, Attacking, Battles.
13th Hour.
The city was in chaos. As it hit, the population attempted to return home, but it was too late. The scorpions continued to swarm, the police force trying to help as many as they could. You might even spot the Anoli once in a while...although they were only helping those that had Persona. Regardless, they were, at least, doing something.
The corpses of millions of scorpions were littered in the city streets. But once the 13th hour hit...the remaining ones mutated. But that was not the worst of it...
Oh no...
The Scorpios of the city now had a Scorpion tail dragging behind them, capable of causing Poison and Paralyzing damage. On a normal human, this was already terrible enough...
On a Persona User....they needed to be taken down.
Quickly.
And yet even in this Hour, there is hope. Power surges in a select few, and with a new skill at their tips, the battle may be won yet. But remember your mission; you came to protect this city. That includes the people living here. With so much chaos, you'll also need to help them and reduce the number of deaths as much as possible...and try not too look too closely at a looming figure in the Scorpio Ward...

But the streets, once reached, don't make that simple. There are scorpions and Scorpios everywhere and civilians who need help. Undoubtedly some splitting up will end up happening.
Minako moves as efficiently as she can, sometimes vaulting piles of monster corpses and slicing through stingers with her naginata, others mowing down encroaching hordes with fire from Orpheus, wind from Quetzalcoatl or ice from Lakshemi. It's tiring, but she can't afford to rest. Every time she does she spots another elderly man trapped in his car, or a young woman beset by mutated scorpions on a fire escape. Any help in these endeavors would be very much appreciated.
Because this had to happen eventually
"DEATH FROM ABOVE!"
He lands on top of one of the giant scorpions, the blade of Laevateinn burning through the carapace to leave a scorch mark on the pavement below. He gives you an enthusiastic wave as he hops off the dead scorpion, Laevateinn burning itself free behind him.
"Hiii~!"
no subject
"Good to see you too, but is it really the time to be playing around?" And what was with jumping off the railing?! That could have been dangerous. Never mind that she'd have risked the same thing if she'd judged it to be necessary.
no subject
"It's like old times, y'know! Kinda reminds me of the monorail!"
A wistful look briefly passes across his face - old memories, old battles - before he drops into a wide legged stance and concentrates briefly. Around him, a pillar of blue light springs up before shattering like glass, spiraling around to form a feminine figure draped in a dress made out of fine chains, her hands tied behind her and her face cast in shadow.
"Okay, Eurydice! It's go time!"
With a wide grin and a wave of his arm, he directs the Persona to cast what seems to be a Matarukaja on the both of you.
As the Persona fades away, he turns fully towards you, his smile still slightly too wide. As he brushes his bangs back with one hand, you can see the fading remnants of a black eye.
"So, you doing good?"
no subject
"Your face! Minato, what happened?"
no subject
"Oh, this happened a couple of days ago. No bigs."
There's a brief pause as he shakes some ashen remnants off his sword, looking critically at the dead scorpions around them before voicing his thoughts.
"You think these are edible?"
no subject
...He hadn't been wearing his uniform when she'd last seen him, either. Nor had he been acting oddly, like he was under the influence of the illness affecting everyone else. But his strange behavior, the injury, the uncharacteristic talkativeness... It all clicks together, and Minako takes a step backward, her expression hardening as her fingers tighten around the naginata.
"....Who are you?"
no subject
"Don't really know myself."
Spinning around, he drops into a crouch and slices through a nearby scorpion. Planting the tip of the blade in the ground and propping the hilt on his shoulder, he looks up at you and keeps speaking.
"The name I sign on the contract keeps changing, y'know. I spent three years answering to Yukari Takeba!"
Levering himself up with Laevateinn, he briefly stretches his arms out.
"Nobody ever commented on it, though."
no subject
She pulls out the weapon and stabs it again for good measure.
no subject
"Uh...you know, the contract? The one Pharos always has us sign at the start of the year?"
He summons Eurydice again and impales a far-off scorpion with a Poison Arrow attack before continuing.
"It's the first part of the loop, remember?"
no subject
no subject
"You know, end of the year, dying on the roof, then waking up back at the start of the year?"
He's waving one hand around in vague circles to illustrate his point.
"One thousand, six hundred, and seventy five years? No free will?"
The tone of his voice is becoming the slightest bit frantic.
"You're me, how can you possibly forget this stuff while I still have to re-remember?"
His voice cracks on the last word, his agitation clearly and plainly visible in the way he carries himself.
no subject
"Listen... I don't think I'm who you think I am." Who he thinks she is... now she really isn't sure. The story he's given is unbelievable - repeating that year over a thousand times? But it's clear that this isn't the Minato she knows and with all the business with parallel universes lately, that's the only explanation that makes sense to her.
"You - Minato is my brother. We're twins. He went through the journey in his world, and I went through it in mine, and we both woke up here after it finished."
no subject
"You aren't...me, are you."
A welter of emotions flash through his face before he settles on a slightly too wide grin, lifting Laevateinn into position and facing towards the scorpions.
"After this is over, let's have a chitchat!"
The blue glow plays up around his feet again as he calls on Eurydice, having her throw a Bufula at a scorpion that was slightly too close for comfort.
no subject
She's always been good at putting aside feelings to deal with the present moment. And this present moment is full of scorpions.
She can worry about Minato and whatever world he's come from later. Although before he gets too far involved in the fight again, she summons Lakshmi and casts Diarahan on him. He may not be concerned about his old injuries, but she still is.

Normally realizing this would make her freeze up and wonder what was wrong with her. Here, she doesn't have time to really dwell on it and even if she did she'd try to remember what her brother had told her in their brief time together before Nyx descended: it was all right to like a good fight. It was even all right to have fun taking out her enemies. As long as she wasn't cruel, as long as she kept from becoming the monster she feared it meant she could be, it was all right.
This was why her headphones, now hanging around her neck instead of being firmly clamped over her ears and blaring Another One Bites The Dust to keep herself from dwelling too much. Music had always been her way of dealing with stress and that even included in battle when she needed to keep her personal conflict as much in check as possible. Especially now when lives depended on it
"Minako!" she shouted when she spotted her "cousin" of sorts just up the road, trying to save a young woman on a fire escape. She called forth her persona--she'd questioned why Orpheus was now Euterpe at a later date--and used the winds of Garula to knock them back from the escape once she was in range.
"Want some help?" she asked, hoping against hope it wasn't obvious she was enjoying herself on some level. The last thing she needed was for Minako to wonder what was wrong with her, too.
no subject
She waved up at the woman once the scorpion had been dealt with. "Get inside, okay?"
And then she turned to Minami. "Of course! I saw another group heading down the alley, we should be able to catch up to them."
no subject
Stop. Deep breath. There's nothing wrong with liking the fight.
And once she was sure Minako was heading down the alley, too, she took off in a sprint.
"Have you seen the others?"
no subject
no subject
Minami really should know better considering when it comes to the physical side of fighting, she's not that strong. No, her strength came from judicious use of her persona. Of which she only has one
due to the mun being too busy IRL on the Velvet Room days. Which is a strange feeling for her, but something she can work with."If you hold them off, I can see about using the COMP to check in on everyone if the Network is still up?"
no subject
She raises her Evoker, summoning Orpheus, who speeds ahead and around the corner. There's a small explosion sound as he spots some scorpions around the bend and unleashes a fire attack.

It didn't look like anyone they knew at least, defiantly local populace. There was a Persona hovering above the middle one. The user looked to be around twenty and had a bodybuilder's build, looking like a massive beast compared to the two thin guys that flanked him. The persona Hecatonchire, was a dark mass with a hundred arms, each holding a sword.
"Well well, what do we have here? Two ladies out in city, and no man around you? Ain't that a real shame..."
The two other zombies laughed. Due to their lack of persona, their personalities could be resumed to mindless drones, and their laughed seemed almost robotic, forced. Almost like they were feeding off the Persona user.
"Well ladies! I think we should have fun. The both of you...and the one of me." He snapped his fingers. "You guys go get 'em for me alright?"
Their scorpion tails raised into the air, both zombies jumped with surprising agility, hovering in the air before landing close by and getting ready to attack. No time to make any calls to see how everyone was doing, you now both had a serious problem on your hands.
