Summary: There's an odd feeling in the air, in the wake of the Scorpio incident...

The city was in a sort of rebuilding lull after the Scorpio incident. People swept debris off their porches as Wand operatives did their best to calm the demon population- the post-battle issues would probably have lasted quite a long time, if not for an odd intervention.

The twenty-seventh of October was an oddly quiet night in Hinoto-Ri. The silence seemed to scrub the streets clean, even if only metaphorically. A soft, humid rain drizzled down over the city like a blanket, lulling those who were still awake and patrolling. Yet, there were not nearly as many demons as usual; something unheard of for the town, and too suspicious to leave be, especially in the wake of Skorpios.

At about eleven, the rain picked up, more of a downpour than anyone could have expected- and there was a sound. No, more than that- it was music.

At first, the tune was simply an irritation, but as the minutes ticked on, it wormed its way much deeper. Like a fading echo, it pushed through the rain from parts unknown, calling out with it's last, faint breath. Yet never did it cease. The song begged to whatever persona users would heed it, beckoning them softly to follow it...whatever 'it' was.

Anyone who heard the melody would find themselves lured to the same place- a small row of shops in the Virgo district. The rain was harsh, yet could barely whisper over the song's intensity by then...

Rune was steadily turning red as Pit just stood there doing nothing. She finally flailed, wanting to rip out a gun and point it at him.

"Don't just stand there! DO SOMETHING!"

"Like what?" he asks in a strangled voice.

If she hasn't noticed, they're kind of out in the middle of a business district late at night. Pit might be a scavenger, but he's not a thief!

Oh geeze, Pit, you can be so useless when it comes to survival. Rune was beet red by that point, but she still managed to slip her shawl off, turning away as she handed it over to him.

"B-but...aren't you going to need that? You'll be cold without it."

This kid barely has any clothes on and he's still more concerned about the comfort of someone else.

"JUST TAKE THE DAMN THING!"

Rune's voice came out in a shrill shriek that could probably be heard on the other end of the city.

"F-fine!"

So he takes the damn thing, wraps it around his shoulders, unsure whether he should thank her or remain standing there cowering in fear and embarrassment.

Geeze, Pit... Rune doesn't turn around immediately, and even when she does, she's still beat red. Her shawl was a little too small to cover much, sadly.

"M-man... you're such a pain..." she muttered.

"What? I didn't even do anything this time!"

Why does she wound him so?

Why does he always fall for girls who seem to hate the very ground he walks on?

PORQUE?!

"You're right you didn't do anything!" she shouted back at him. So much tsundere right now, Pit. You bring out the worst in her. "Most people put on a shirt before they leave the house, you know!"

...says the girl standing in short shorts, a tank top, and a utility vest.

"I wasn't aware I'd left my apartment before I came here! Seriously, that music, do you hear it? It was, like, calling me, and before I knew it, bam! I was here! I was just about to go to sleep when I started hearing it..."

"You think I don't know that!? Why do you think I'm here, sight seeing?"

She sneezed again. Oh man, she was going to get sick! That wasn't good.

"Well that's why I don't have any other clothes on."

He takes the shawl off and hands it back to her. "Take this back. Seriously! You're getting sick."

Not that that cough that escaped his lips is an indication that he's faring better.

"Dammit, put it back on! You're distracting!"

"Oh come on! It's not like I'm naked!"

"Why are you so distracted, anyway?"

That sound just now? That would be the sound of mental keysmashing.

"N-not me! You're distracting everyone else here!"

Pit takes a goooooooooood look around them, then looks back at Rune.

"...the only one here who's distracted is you."

GIVE HIM THE DEETS.

"I'm not calling you a liar! I just wanna know why you get so flustered around me!"

"Anyone would be flustered around a guy walking around in something that could fall off any second!"

"...when's the last time you've seen a spandex singlet fall off of someone?!"

"I DON'T KNOW, BUT STRANGER THINGS HAVE HAPPENED IN THIS CITY!!!"

Damn it's obvious this girl is a little more flustered than she ought to be. Is it because she...?

Or maybe she's just flustered by the memory of him asking her out on a date.

But if she wasn't interested then she wouldn't be so flustered...

But he still has a bad habit of falling for girls who like him to some degree but won't ever admit it.

Rune just let out a disgruntled noise instead, folding her arms over her chest and looking away. She was sixteen, dammit; she had more important things to worry about than chicken wings over there. Like, you know, if she'd ever get to see her friends again, or if they were going to be able to work together to help the world or what she was going to eat for dinner...

Once again, he holds out the shawl. "If you're that bugged by having me around, I'll just leave. Here, take this."

"Will you just hold onto it? Geeze..." she muttered, looking even more annoyed. "You can give it back when you get some clothes on later."
