Summary: There's an odd feeling in the air, in the wake of the Scorpio incident...

The city was in a sort of rebuilding lull after the Scorpio incident. People swept debris off their porches as Wand operatives did their best to calm the demon population- the post-battle issues would probably have lasted quite a long time, if not for an odd intervention.

The twenty-seventh of October was an oddly quiet night in Hinoto-Ri. The silence seemed to scrub the streets clean, even if only metaphorically. A soft, humid rain drizzled down over the city like a blanket, lulling those who were still awake and patrolling. Yet, there were not nearly as many demons as usual; something unheard of for the town, and too suspicious to leave be, especially in the wake of Skorpios.

At about eleven, the rain picked up, more of a downpour than anyone could have expected- and there was a sound. No, more than that- it was music.

At first, the tune was simply an irritation, but as the minutes ticked on, it wormed its way much deeper. Like a fading echo, it pushed through the rain from parts unknown, calling out with it's last, faint breath. Yet never did it cease. The song begged to whatever persona users would heed it, beckoning them softly to follow it...whatever 'it' was.

Anyone who heard the melody would find themselves lured to the same place- a small row of shops in the Virgo district. The rain was harsh, yet could barely whisper over the song's intensity by then...

[ OOC: The half of this log set on the 27th is just a mingle, to ponder over what could be happening- feel free to make ridiculous theories, or what have you! The half set on the 28th will go up tomorrow, and will kick off the event proper. ]

Well the luring thing is part of it, but...actually the whole string of events up til now was weird, but that was only part of it.

"Ah, I dunno." He pauses, as if thinking to himself, eyes still searching the streets before taking off his hood/headphones, letting what he was listening drift into the air.

"I guess...everything so far? Hmn."

"...how vague," Yamato muttered. He was in a bit of an irritable mood, unfortunately for Kaito, and he crossed his arms tightly over his chest, glaring out at the rain. "I assume by 'everything' you mean the insanity of what had transpired with the scorpions."

"Yeah, that and...this whole thing and..."

Yamato's irritability was going to get a lot worse.

"I haven't seen him since the 19th." It should be obvious who he's talking about, and if he had a clearer head about him, he'd find Saiduq disappearing the day before the Scorpio incident started to be suspicious, but right now, he's not in any mood to analyze anything.

"But yeah, everything..."

Yamato's irritability was getting worse - although not at the mention of Alcor, he had, more or less, established some form of...something with him. In any case the mere mention of him didn't throw him into a foul mood - but the news that he was, once again, abandoning people to gallivant off to do whatever it was he did was chafing over very old, yet still very sore, wounds.

"Tch, obviously. That man has no thought in his head about others when he pulls his disappearing acts," Yamato scoffed.

...Well, that sounds like that has a history to it, but...nah, maybe he should ask later.

"...Is it weird to be worried? I mean, it's not like he's gonna die or anything, but with everything else going on, I dunno."

He just has a "bad feeling" is all.

"Don't bother wasting your time worrying about him," Yamato said darkly. "He will turn up again whenever he pleases. He is...powerful," he could admit that much, "So I doubt anything would be able to harm him enough for him to die."

With that, Kaito sighs, trying to relax.

"Yeah, I guess." This isn't making that piping music go away, though, which is less worrisome and more grating on his nerves, and it shows as he turns up the volume on his player.

"Where is that coming from?"

"I don't know, but if it doesn't cease soon I will not be held responsible for my actions."

And Yamato is beginning to get the same look in his eye like a half crazed stallion would before it started to kick everything to death. His nerves were already frayed to hell and back from paranoia and lack of sleep, and the grating hooting was beginning to set him on edge.

Man, what to do... If there less people here, maybe he could scan to see where that music was coming from. And they were apparently brought here for some reason, but if they can't find who brought them...

"Wanna get out of here? I doubt we're gonna find out anything here today."

"Yes."

Whatever was here seemed only content in irritating those it brought here with that insistent music, and Yamato was determined not to be lured by it again. Without waiting for Kaito, he pivoted on his heel and began to walk off at a brisk pace.

...What was that about suddenly leaving at abrupt times, dude?

Whatever, Kaito just follows him, putting up his hood again and trying to keep up.

"Why in the shopping district? Of all the places here, you'd think there'd be a better place for mysterious or weird stuff."

"Due to modernisation of the world, people build mundane things like shops upon areas that contain supernatural powers. You have seen a few of the seals in Japan, correct? A few of them were in areas like a concert hall, or a square. This is no different, most likely."

Yamato's response was a bit curt, and absent-minded. He was just eager to put as much space between himself and this place.

Ohhhh yeeeeaaah, that's a good point!

"Oh, huh, you're right. Might be something like a seal around there..."

Although he's probably going to look when there isn't incessant piping in his ears.

"We'll search tomorrow, hopefully when the noise has been hopefully silenced," Yamato muttered. The further they walked away, the quieter the hooting noise was. He rubbed at his eyes, feeling thoroughly exhausted. He wanted nothing more than to crawl into bed at that moment.

He nods and then notices the eye rubbing.

"Dude, go to bed."

"I'm planning to," Yamato muttered. "Although only for a few hours. In the wake of current events, I am uneasy in allowing the area going unsupervised for long periods of time..."

Meaning patrols every three hours! He could do it. So long as he had coffee to keep him ticking over.

"...Dude, you need eight hours. I can walk around town for you, if you want."

Oddly enough, he's actually feeling pretty energetic!

Yamato frowned. "Eight hours is too long..."

He only slept, at most, five hours a day. To think, sleeping for eight. What a waste of precious time...!

"Well...maybe if you're used to sleeping less, but it looks like you need more than five."

Yamato's expression became a little stubborn at this point. He never needed more than five hours of sleep, thank you very much, Kaito. He will be fine.

"It's fine. If need be I can supplement my sleep with a nap later in the day."

Alright, he'll drop it.

"If you say so. Don't feel bad if you end up sleeping in, though!"

He's just saying!

"I won't. I have a good internal clock," Yamato sniffed.
