child

Who: Open to anyone, but anyone from the first log will be doubly urged to come.
Where: Starting in Virgo, leading in to Gemini.
Summary: The next night, the song is back, and even stronger...but this time, it seems to have a purpose.
Warnings: Secondary, small plot event
The 27th seemed to have been a bust. Many stood around, discussing the strange music, before eventually retiring when exhaustion hit after the 13th hour...and boy did it. Strangely, the civilian population- even persona users -reported to not hearing anything at all.

The night of the 28th, it happened again. The same song, the same pleading call, to the same row of shops. But something did change, as midnight melted quickly towards the Thirteenth hour.

Another noise sought to be heard over the music- this one akin to television static. If one looked closely at the glass of the nearby shop windows, they could see something cloudy forming on them...but that was only a reflection. Nothing stood in that spot in the street. A figure took form amid the shimmered raindrops, only visible in the reflection of the rain and the glass. A ghost, glowing dimly, with eyes so pitch black that one could never see through them. And where were those unending eyes pointed? Up at Mount Utsugi, giving way to Mictlan...

It moved instinctively, heading for the structure without any glance at the Persona users it had called out to. The piper had it's children, and now it only had to lead them...

[ OOC: Feel free to try to interact with the ghostly figure, or just go along for the ride! And just to clarify, yeah the ghost has no physical form- it's only visible in reflective surfaces -so if you wanna follow it, you might need a mirror or something. If you want to know if something would work for that, just bug me on plurk (gaakishi)! ]

...again Yu found himself drawn out into the rain.

This was starting to bother him, especially since this time it was so late at night. When the hour rolled over into the Thirteenth hour, however, his concern grew worse; he and his team of all people would be able to pick out the sound of television static from anywhere.

His hand instantly dove into his pocket, pulling out his Midnight Channel glasses and putting them on. He zeroed in on this ghostly figure instantly, though he could not see it that well -- he could only see the creature in the reflection of the glasses -- but it was enough for him to be able to follow it.

Yu wasn't sure if the others were there, but curiosity was winning over the common sense to wait for them. He set out after the ghostly figure, feet pounding through puddles after it.

The 28th had been mundane for Pit. He went to work, came home, did laundry (blech).

Made a quick stop to the Libra ward to drop off a shawl and a small bag of candy.

When the music beckoned again, he was prepared. It wasn't pleasant going to bed in casual slacks and a raincoat, but he was grateful for it the moment he found himself in front of the row of shops again. His eyes scan the crowd, searching for...

And they stop, every now and then, on the reflection of the child who isn't there.

Now Chrome was starting to get worried about this. This is the second time she's been pulled out to the row of shops by that song, but at least now she's dressed more warmly and brought her bag with her, just in case.

But when the Thirteenth Hour struck and she could see that... ghost in the reflection of the window, she started to feel a sense of unease and she pretty much hugs her bag to her chest.

Luckily, she has gotten into the habit of carrying a compact with her in case she needed to fix her eyepatch or anything, so she soon quickly pulls that out, angling it so that she can see the ghost in the reflection before going to follow it when it starts moving.

"Pit!"

Looks like you get lucky, Pit, because someone decided to find you. Rune pulled up alongside of him, though... well, her outfit hadn't improved much - at least she managed to wear longer shorts, and had a rain poncho now. She looked too concerned about this happening again to yell at him for anything he might have done.

"What's going on?"

Riku might not have heard the song the night before, but he sure hears it tonight, and... well, he's never been one to leave things like that uninvestigated.

He shivered lightly as he moved through the street - it's moments like this when he almost wished he had kept the cloak and not left it to rot in the Castle That Never Was - frowning when he caught a reflection in one of the windows... and yet found himself unable to sense anything.

For just a moment he almost questioned himself, he was rather paranoid at times after all, but then he caught him again in the reflection of a puddle.

...Well. If that's the games this... whatever wanted to play, Riku was up for it.

Yamato was, quite frankly, fed up with this ridiculousness. Again, during his patrol around the apartment complex, he was lured by that song - although this time he could hear the strange sound of static, buzzing at the very edge of his hearing. It was beyond annoying, and Yamato wanted to find the source of all this irritation and eliminate it.

Of course the only thing he found was that strange ghostly figure - caught only in the passing reflections in the windows and rain. Yamato couldn't see it very well, and neither could he sense anything from it, which was beyond disturbing but-

Which is when he caught sigh of Yu. He remembered him, vaguely, from a strange conversation about that whole 'gay' fiasco, but more interestingly was that Yu seemed fixated on something that was otherwise invisible, his glasses-

Glasses reflected things. Of course.

So Yu, don't mind Yamato catching up to you. Thankfully the ghost didn't seem to be sprinting, otherwise Yamato would have been left in the dust...

"Can you see it clearly?"
linefacingforever: (Oh really...?)

[personal profile] linefacingforever 2012-10-28 08:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yu glanced sidelong at the other man, remembering him from that conversation also. He still needed Kanji to talk to this guy...

"More or less," Yu replied, before fishing into his pocket for the glasses for the COMP, before handing them over. "Try these."

He needed to test something; could he see the ghost this well because glasses were reflective, or just because they were the glasses that could see through the fog in the Midnight Channel?

It was beyond annoying, and Yamato wanted to find the source of all this irritation and eliminate it.

The only thing he could find, however, were glimpses of something...ghostly in the reflections of the windows and rain puddles. He could sense nothing and yet - if he didn't know any better, he would've thought he was hallucinating from lack of sleep or exhaustion. But he did know better.

He muttered irritably to himself, taking out his phone and flipping it open, shielding the contraption from the rain with his spare hand. He angled it properly and...there we are. The reflection was murky, but it was enough for him to follow the ghost.

At least it wasn't moving very quickly.

Yamato frowned at the COMP glasses, but put them on with a small sigh. He frowned. He could see something like a smudge on the lens - nothing defined, nothing clear, but something so long as he squinted hard enough.

Nothing like the certainty with how his companion appeared to have.

"It's not very clear."

He looks over to her, some hesitation showing in his eyes. Is she going to yell at him again?

"I dunno," he says, looking away once more--and catching a glimpse of the child's form. He shakes his head. He's seeing things.
linefacingforever: (Considering all the things.)

[personal profile] linefacingforever 2012-10-28 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Yu let out a breath; he had a feeling, and he was privately grateful to Teddie, wishing he was in the city at the same time.

"I think it's heading for the mountain," he explained for him, reaching out for his glasses back. Poor guy would probably hurt his eyes if he kept trying to squint at the ghost like that.
pistolsakimbo: (...o-oh really?)

[personal profile] pistolsakimbo 2012-10-28 08:39 pm (UTC)(link)
She caught that.

"What is it?"

"Nothing..."

It's not a very convincing "nothing".
drakenguard: (hmph)

[personal profile] drakenguard 2012-10-28 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yamato slipped the COMP glasses off and handed them back without a word, tilting his head to look up at the mountain. Of course it would go there...

"...We'll keep a close eye on it regardless. It might decide to change its course at the last moment."

Further ahead he might catch sight of someone else following that... apparition(?), though Riku was having a bit of a harder time, given that he doesn't have glasses.

It was getting frustrating quickly though, and Riku's just gritting his teeth as he decided that maybe it was time for a change in strategy and called for Way to the Dawn, taking a deep breath and focused his magic a little bit differently then usual.

It took just a whisper - "Freeze." - to invoke it and let Deep Freeze cover the next several meter in front of him, a thin layer of ice covering the street.

At very least, being able to follow it that way instead of searching constantly for a source of reflection, didn't make him question his sanity quite as much. Even if it did mean a little bit more work for him.
dame_tsuna: (confused)

[personal profile] dame_tsuna 2012-10-28 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsuna had wisely stayed away the first time the song had played, but this time it's even louder, so curiosity is winning out. Well, that and he'd noticed Chrome leaving the apartment complex. He couldn't help but be a little worried. He catches up with her at the window. She's... checking her makeup or something? Well, he'll worry about that later.

"Chrome? Did you hear it too?"
theothermist: (pic#3832587)

[personal profile] theothermist 2012-10-28 09:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Chrome stops and glances towards Tsuna, her expression faintly worried as she gives him a nod.

"Yes. And there's something here..." She motions him to take a look at the compact mirror, which will show a reflection of the ghost.
dame_tsuna: (See what I see)

[personal profile] dame_tsuna 2012-10-28 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
He peers into the mirror.

"Is that.... a ghost?"

Tsuna can't keep the nervous quaver from his voice. He's almost having flashbacks to the horrible test of courage Reborn made him go through in that graveyard. He nervously glances behind them, at the space where something reflected in that mirror should be, and then back at the mirror itself.

"... I don't know. But I think it wants us to follow it." Chrome, while she does seem worried, doesn't appear at all nervous or scared.
ghost_shield: (An interesting thought)

[personal profile] ghost_shield 2012-10-28 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hearing the song again was bad enough, but the experience of seeing this... IMAGE off the various reflective surfaces is unnerving. If it's a ghost, shouldn't he be able to see it directly? What's with this indirect nonsense?

And out during this time of night. Considering his general lack of ability to defend himself properly, it's not a good time for him to be out, and yet here he is. Is it some sort of trap? Is there a reason behind this? He doesn't like it at all.

He carries the umbrella with him tightly, as if expecting he'll need it for more reasons than simply defense against the elements. Where is this "boy" going, and why? Why can't he just talk with him and find out?
pistolsakimbo: (...go cliff yourself.)

"You're a horrible liar, Pit..."
gforceinmyfaaaace: (i have ideas too)

[personal profile] gforceinmyfaaaace 2012-10-28 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
He sighs.

"...don't worry about it. I'm just...seeing things." He shakes his head again, then looks at her directly. "Did you get your...your shawl?"

And the candy...

dame_tsuna: (Just an ordinary day)

[personal profile] dame_tsuna 2012-10-28 10:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, he was afraid of that. He swallows nervously, and tries unsuccessfully not to sound scared.

"And you're planning to follow it..."

It's not really a question. He doesn't think she'd be out here otherwise.
pistolsakimbo: (...o-oh really?)

[personal profile] pistolsakimbo 2012-10-28 10:24 pm (UTC)(link)
"Wait, seeing things?" she asked, deciding not to address the rest of that at the moment. "Seeing what?"

Seriously, Pit, seeing things is never a good thing. Trust her on that one.
