The Science Research Institute [Semi-Closed, see note]
Who: Anyone who Ideo recommended go work with the Wise Men.
Where: Gemini's Molecular Anomalies Gnosis Institute
Summary: After Ideo recommends a few people to go work with the Wise Men, they get to see the strange inner workings of their research. Good times and perhaps science is had by all.
Warnings: SCIENCE
Note: You can still go get a job by talking to Ideo or replying to the Job Posting. (OOC - you can also always talk to me and arrange it.)
The building had no markings or a fancy sign. For all intent and purposes it looked like an unmarked building in a row of similar brethren. Most civilians would pass by without knowing anything was particularly unique about it. After all, the best place for hiding was right in plain view. Two-sided windows which mean you couldn't quite see what was inside, the building itself rose about six stories high and had a single door, located on the front.
Once inside, there was a man waited behind a desk, blocking the pathway leading to what looked like a metallic door. The desk itself was without fanfare or much attention either; just a single computer, a small potted plant, a small stash of paper that looked like it was never used and a ground-line telephone that was almost laughable in the age of COMP systems. He was dressed in a suit; as with most typical Japanese businessmen. The strange black bumps on the ceiling were undoubtedly hiding cameras, making it impossible to know what they were looking at.
Once someone got in, he looked up at them, his face perfectly neutral, voice gruff and demanding an answer as soon as possible.
"Name?"

"Name?"

"That... could have used some advance warning."
It looked like they weren't in for fun and games over here. Atsuro slowly follows the man in through the door.
no subject
Probably.
The door stands before him ominously. There's the faint sound of something humming behind it, but otherwise, it's eerily quiet. The man goes back to his desk, Persona disappearing as he continues to pretend to be occupied but is actually watching him and waiting to see what he'll do.
Last chance to step back, Mister Kihara.
> Enter Door?
no subject
Atsuro steps in front of the doorway and pauses for a brief moment, glancing back towards the man who was now pretending to shuffle papers around on the desk. Obviously, he was expected to descend by himself...
It isn't a matter of whether or not he trusts these people - he does, or at least, enough that he's certain they weren't going to beat him up and take his pocket change or anything along those lines. It's simply that the situation is a bit... off-putting. His time in Hinoto-Ri had largely been fun and games; even the events of the previous week had been something he had at least gone through before.
A job interview was more of an unknown at this point.
With a soft shrug to himself, Atsuro steps forward through the door.

Once he gets close enough, they indicate for him to get in. The inside is unusually large, but before he can press any buttons, a voice speaks up.
"Subject Identity Confirmed. Welcome to M.A.G.I. Atsuro Kihara." The voice was distorted and robotic. "Please. For your Safety. We ask that you. Hold on. To the Metallic Bars located on the edge of the Elevator. Decent begins in three seconds."
The door closes behind him.
"Three. Two. One...Decent begins now."
Hopefully he had held on, because suddenly the transport sounds off a small ding and begins to plummet for a hundred levels in the span of ten seconds.
no subject
He's thankful they don't follow him into the elevator, anyway. He would prefer that no one sees his ungainly wobble and crash to the floor as the elevator plummets.
The doors open onto a boy sprawled on the floor. Hopefully no one was right outside.
no subject
"Floor 101. Main Floor. Please hold. Still. For your scan. For Weapons. Thank you."
As if he'd be able to move, somehow. It was perhaps a little overkill, but once that was preformed, the elevator wished him a nice day and opened the doors.
..and another desk, but this time a woman is sitting, and she seems a lot more cheerful than those before her. At the sight of him, she quickly stands up and rushes over to him.
"Mister Kihara! Was the decent in the elevator too hard for you?"
no subject
"O-Oh, not at all!" Too hard? More like too god-awful. "It... It was fine. Just a little surprising. Aha..."
He regains his composure enough to manage to look her in the eyes. ...Somewhere close to her eyes, anyway.
"So...! This is the secret laboratory of the Three Wise Men, huh?"
no subject
"We prefer to call it the M.A.G.I," she explains taking a small bow, indicating for him to follow her. "My name is Suzuki Momoi and on behalf of the Wise Men, I welcome you into the M.A.G.I. Research department. If you are ready to begin, we can start the tour, and I will explain your duties at the same time?"
no subject
Hold on, did that mean he was already accepted? Didn't they want to interview him or something? What if he wanted to back out of this? ...He has enough presence of mind to keep these thoughts to himself, though he can't hide the look of surprise he throws Suzuki's way.
"O-Of course. I'm ready whenever you are."
no subject
Probably.
"I'm glad you're feeling better" she says, before pointing to a lab coat on a hook nearby. It already has her portrait on a card with his DOB and status as a persona user. "The card was made for you this morning. Even just for interviews or temporary employment, we require you have it on you at all times. Please wear it around your neck and make sure you don't lose it! Losing a card could be extremely dangerous to the facility as a whole. The lab coat can be worn over your normal clothing. While you won't be experimenting yourself, it is required that all personnel who aren't military wear one."
As they go forward, the lighting dims more, and there are many paths that lead to open windowed rooms where scientists are busy working on various projects. Sometimes he can see Persona users fighting each other, attached to a machine that measure their brainwaves and body temperature. Others seem to be examining samples under microscopes. There's a room where it looks more like a bunch of demons playing together while the scientists take notes.
"There are three main branches, with most of the larger labs and silos located in the lower levels; Research, Development and Weaponry. I will be taking you to one of the Wise Men for assessment and deciding what tasks you might be qualified for."
no subject
"I can probably tell you off the bat that I'm not going to be much use in Weaponry, aha..."
He's a bit too nervous to actually make any decent commentary.
no subject
She looks around before leading them to a pathway on the left. The rooms seem to be getting more military in nature, and they pass a sign above them state as much; Upper Weaponry Chemical Laboratory 1 A-F. Mannequins equipped with various suits are being targeted by Persona users, as other scientists jolt down results.
"Do you have any questions so far, Mister Kihara?"
no subject
no subject
"That was exactly my first question here too! The answer is a mixture of magic, abandoned subway tunnels and equipment used to build continue, they pass by more and more military men line up the rooms the farther they walk in. It is hard to judge anything about them; they are dressed from head to toe in military uniform like the two guards upstairs and had pairs of sunglasses despite the low light.
By now, some of the rooms have no windows to the outside world. A man with a Cerberus passes by with a handful of notes, waving at her before continuing to walk on by.
The place almost feels like an ant colony, really.
"We're only a few more sections until we arrive at his office."
no subject
Atsuro nods to himself, supposing that whatever he had just been told was reasonable enough. If they had the equipment and means to build something like this, though... why was it that they required so much help to fend off a few demons? Nothing along the line of Skorpios had appeared prior to this month, it seemed, and the demons that appeared normally seemed simple enough to deal with.
There was some mystery remaining there, he was sure.
He follows along behind Suzuki, too caught up in his own thoughts to think of anything else intelligent to ask.
no subject
She does notice his silence after a few more minutes and decides to speak up again.
"What was your world like before coming here? If you don't mind me asking, that is."
no subject
He gestures towards the COMP. The one assigned by the city.
no subject
She trailed off as they approach the end of the corridor.
"Now that we are getting closer, I should explain to you what each of the Wise Men is responsible for. Mister Eiichiro Takeba is head of Research, Mister Takeharu Kirijo heads Development and Weaponry is under the care of Takahisa Kandori. He will be the one interviewing you today."
She stops as they arrive in front of another metallic door. She stands next to her, indicating a machine next to it "Please slide your card to get in, and I will see you later today." With another quick bow, she turns and leaves him alone.
no subject
"Ah... Thanks for the tour!"
He turns back to the card reader and frowns slightly. He had a card...? Right, the thing that people were reading their astrological signs off of. It takes a few moments of digging around in his pockets and bag before he uncovers it with a sigh of relief; slowly, he reaches forward and slides it through.
