Who: Pit and Rune Calstead

Warnings: Probably awkwardness.

There is one smooth angel making his way to a certain door in the Pisces apartment complex. He's wearing a nice pair of brown dress shoes, pristinely ironed khaki pants and beige shirt, tucked in neatly, and serving as the backdrop for a brown tie that has no business being tied so well by a (theoretical) 13-year-old.

He is also carrying a bouquet of flowers. And candy.

And he is wearing cologne. Has the narration mentioned, he also combed and brushed his hair?

This is what happens when you leave your angel to go through puberty alone, Lady Palutena. He overdoes it by a mile.

Still, as confident as he may have seem walking into the complex, he grows more and more nervous by the minute, until he finds himself hesitating as he stands outside of Rune's door. This is going to go okay, right? He hasn't...overdressed, has he?

Closing his eyes, and taking a deep breath, he knocks.

Pit has an easy smile on his face.

"Ever tried soda before?"

...great.

"I-I don't know what that is..."

"It's a drink, like water except sweeter and bubblier. I'll let you have a sip when Latooni comes back!"

"Okay, sure. There isn't much that's sweet on my world."

"Well lucky for you, I work at a sweets shop, so you can try all the sweets you'd like~"

Just ask Pittoo, who has been receiving a secret, steady supply of chocolates ever since he showed up.

Pitto is going to murder you one of these days, Pit. Just saying.

"Thanks," Rune replied, offering a small smile.

Latooni returned with a soda and a water shortly, placing each on the table in the neat but uncertain manner of someone still getting used to a serving job.

Well, they looked a little bit less awkward than when she left...

"Did you want anything to eat as well, or did you want to...um, be left alone? To talk, I mean," she asked.

She wasn't sure how to handle this. Normally when her friends went on dates they made sure the rest of the crew was busy doing something else (or mildly terrified of one part of the couple, in Lt. Kyosuke's case).

"Eat? Oh. I hadn't even thought about that." He looks to Rune. "Did you know what you want?"

"Oh, yeah... just a salad is fine," she replied, pausing a moment to think. "Um... I guess with cheese too?"

"Salad...and...um..."

While it wasn't normally something she'd ask, Latooni decided that at least one person here should probably say something directly.

"Neither of you really go out to eat much, do you...?"

"I did back at home. Lady Palutena...she's not exactly a good cook."

Again, Rune looked uncomfortable. Normally she liked having so much to explore... but being around people that already had so much, where things like this were normal... She felt like such an idiot.

"Um... no, never."

Latooni nodded and gave Rune a small smile.

"I didn't either until people started insisting I come along," she admitted, trying to be reassuring.

"But it's okay if you just want a salad. Eating out means eating whatever you want!"

Rune looked between Latooni and Pit at his word, a little surprised.

"What, a salad is wrong?" she asked. But she didn't really like eating meat...

"There's nothing wrong with a salad at all," she said.

"Pit, what would you like?"

"Um... Do you guys have hamburgers?"

"We do," she said. "We don't have a lot of options for them, since most people come in for pastries and tea or coffee, but I can get you a hamburger or cheeseburger."

"With fries?"

Latooni might want to step aside, as Pit's wings have stretched open.

She stepped to the side with the practice of a professional fighter. Probably why she'd never dropped a glass while working here.

"Yes. With fries. I'll go put your order in," she acknowledged with a smile at his enthusiasm.

"Woo-hoo!" Pit cries with a fist bump.

Sorry, Rune. Your date's kind of a dork. If you haven't noticed that already.

And you might notice it a bit more once you see how excited he looks when he gets his hamburger--and promptly tears in to it.

"Mmmm, fo goof"
